  1. Hey Guys...remember... Fox SELLS Gator Tails. He might be just a wee bit biased. I've owned 2-strokes and 4-strokes. I'd take 4 strokes 10 outta 10 times. Some advise my Dad gave me: "YOU CAN'T CATCH A FISH YOU'VE SCARED THE HECK OUT OF!"
  2. It's an ugly dog's butt, I'll give ya that.
  3. COULDA, WOULDA, SHOULDA, DIDN'T. Has there ever been truer words spoken??????? Man....that surely sums it up. I vow to have less coulda, shouda, woulda, didn't days this year!!!!
  4. So, you say LOTS of silver bullets huh? My suggestion? Fish Fry!
  5. Not the Conservation ramp which is what everyones talking about. Those Missouri taxes paid for that one. By the way, it's an excellent ramp. Now if you're talking about the ramp at Cooper Creek Campground; there's no fee there either...... but they will shoot you if they get a chance. heh-heh
  6. Go back and read the fishing reports on this Forum. Tons of info.
  7. OK...I think I have it now.... we want: 1) slot of 12-25 inches 2) flyfishing only 3) barbless hooks 4) Scott rods 5) tan fishing vests 6) stocking foot waders 7) daylight fishing only 8) Only pretty people fishing And if you keep a 10 incher caught on a spinner with a treble hook on a shimano rod, wearing a chest pack in your bootfoot waders at night, and you look like Groucho Marx... you are hung from a big tree at the shelter house until Taney's buzzard population pick your illegal carcass clean. Hmmmmm....sounds about right.
  8. Sorry I didnt see the offer until today. I'd have liked to join you. Maybe next time. loo10
  9. "...spinfisher catch and keep a big (maybe 25") brown yesterday. Personally I like the slot but I'd like to see the upper end increased to 24 or 25". Just MHO Greg Ditto. I can go to the trophy area and catch 15-17" fish pretty regularly. Makes me wonder what would happen if upper end of slot was raised to 24-25". But then...I don't think too many are kept over 20. Or am I just naive? loo10
  10. Soft Hackle Jeremy, Beautiful fly. loo10
  11. Which Griffin r u?
  12. Saw a ferret on the bank of Taneycomo a few weeks ago. It was holdin' a sign. It said, "Eat more sculpins."
  13. I have this urge... I can't explain it... quack. (Sorry, I couldn't help myself)
  14. Please excuse my lightheartedness with your pain. I'm actually very anxious for you to get this thing up and running. And I most definately appreciate your efforts. Have a wonderful New Year & God Bless you my friend.
  15. You can round up or round down.... most of us fishermen cain't count so gude neither.
  16. I got it... I got it... I got it.......... Nope. I don't got it.
  17. he-he-heeeee What a spirited forum.
  18. Oh I just love it when people start using words and phrases like "extremeism" and "Forcing our beliefs on them." Give me a break! What am I gonna hear next...a diversity speech 'cause some of us would rather catch browns than rainbows????
  19. Ok. Here's what you do... go down to the water about 2 in the morning. Take off all your clothes and get in. Lay on your stomach in water about 2 feet deep. Keep just enough of your body out of the 56 degree water so you can breathe. Don't worry about that blue tint your skin is turning...it's temporary. Next, place 13 red wigglers under your tongue and open your mouth. Sculpins will begin to appear within 30 minutes. You may need to do this several nights in a row before you start having any luck. Be sure and post in the forum how it worked out okay????
  20. " just once I wish a trout would wink at me " Brian, I dont know why they couldnt wink at you. I've had them jump in the air, do a somersault, spit my fly out, and smile...all before they hit the water. That's why I daily plot my revenge.
  21. Very sad indeed. That's why I dont keep the big ones. They are just too awesome to catch. I gotta wonder.... once you've had a 20, 22, or 24 incher slam your offering and you've felt his head shaking; what goes thru your mind when you decide to kill it? I'm probably gonna catch some lip for this but I'd rather catch 1 fish 22" or bigger than 30 under 12" any-day! LET THE BIG ONES GO. JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN DO SOMETHING; DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD!
  22. "...but have you ever seen a brown maul a stick bait? Awesome!!!!!" Snagged, I sure as heck have and it's fanastic. Pert near as good as seeing them slam a woolly sculpin. If you ever want to jump in my Lund and sling some stickbaits together...give me a hoot. She's gassed up and charged up as I write this. Happy New Year's to all.
  23. Unfortunately fly-fishing has attracted a bunch of yuppie snobs. I was once in a TU Chapter filled with 'em. Which was interesting. TU is NOT a fly-fishing organization. It is an organization who supports cold water fisheries... be it fly-fishing, spin-fishing, or bait. FFF (Federation of Fly-Fishing) IS a fly-fishing organization. For trout, bass, panfish, carp or whatever you can catch with a flyrod.
  24. Amazing. I am so envious.
  25. I'd have to agree. Used to be...FlyTyer was awesome front to back. Lately though....you usually wonder why you bought it.
