Just got off the phone with Little Rock Corps people, the man said they are closing Viney Campground INCLUDING the ramps. Complete shut down. We need to write and call people. In my report yesterday Craig gave the name and address of the man to contact. darn this makes me mad. Duck

Bill, the lady at the store said the camp managers are not returning, they want to travel. You are correct when you said they were nice folks. Duck

Saw a petition today about the closing of Viney Creek park for the duration, has anyone heard of this? If so does that include the ramps. Talked to the nice lady at the little store near the park entrance and she says it is so. Hope not, Duck.

Very rough day, in at Viney at 10:15 off at 2:30, total 1 (one) (zero plus one) 10 inch K. Water temp 42-45. Threw jerk baits, white and chrome spoons, spinner baits, drop shot. Found some bait but no fish with them. Wonderful to be on the lake with the nice weather. MERRY CHRISTMAS to all and good fishin. Lets all continue to buy green bananas in the new year. Duck.

After a good breakfast at the Back Porch Cafe we put in at HI at 8:30 off at 2, tried good areas from ramp to Panther Creek with spinnerbaits, jigs, drop shot and spoon, ended up with Craig catching 1, 12 incher on the jig, I got blanked. VERY VERY windy but warm air temp. Water temp was 54 most of the day. Bait was really scattered. Still beat sitting at home. Good luck, Duck.

In at Holiday Island at 8:45 off at 2, total of 19 Kentucky's and 3 Bream. 2 would be keeps. Fished creek mouths down to Eagle Rock. Could not catch a shallow fish on anything. All fish were caught on the drop shot with a PBJ finesse worm in 26-30 FOW. Lots of scattered bait. Water temp started at 56 got up to 58.5. Good Fishin, Duck.

Quill, all of our fish came from coves and were near some kind of wood near the bank. We tried some docks with no results, also tried Drop Shot on our favorite main lake point and another zippo. Seems the bait was scattered rather than in the nice sized balls. I'm in a Tracker with QZA. decals on a 90 Merc, if you see us stop and say hey. Good luck, Duck.

In at Viney at 7 and the rain pushed us off at 11. Really tough with only 9 blacks, all but 1 small,10-12 inches. Craig had a nice 3lb plus, LM. 6 on WE spinnerbait( Mouse) 3 on watermelon jig. Water temp 65-67. Will go again Wed. or Thur. Good fishin, Duck.

First cast out of Sweetwater at 6:50 am. and fished down to the White, total of 27 blacks ,K's and LM. 7 nice ones over 16 inches and chunky. 13 on WE spinnerbait (mouse), 7 on silver spoons, 7 drop shot with PBJ finesse worm. Water temp 71-73. Off at 12. Great day with cloud cover and light wind. Could not get bit on wart. Good fishin, Duck.

Boy was it foggy until 8:30, had to stay very near the ramp at Stillwater and caught a few small blacks there then headed down river to our usual milk run and picked up one or two here and there. Really tough with no top water at all, ended up with 12 blacks, 2 nice would be keeps and 4 quick releases at the boat. Most on spinnerbaits, some on wart and others on jig and drop shot. We did not see the usual large amount of bait, maybe the weather did it. Water temp 72-74. If you want some good catfish fillets and fries, and cold "sodee" try the Office Pub on 86 east of Eagle Rock bridge. YUMMY. Good fishin, Duck.

You do not have to answer this but I was just wondering how the ramp shut downs are effecting the guides. Hope it ends soon. Duck

Called Viola store and they said signs are up at the park and it is closed, drove to Eagle Rock and its shut at the entrance, went to Viney, closed at the little store crossroads. Called Big M and the gentleman said it was open this am. but I would think it is also closed. You can still launch at Eagle Rock marina for a small fee, Holiday Island is open. Sweetwater is my private launch LOL so no go there. Good Luck, Duck.
