The keeper was the first of the morning so we thought yahoo it will be a good day, wrong. Drop shot got all but the keep, it was on a Red fin. Just means try again darn it. Good fishing. Duck

    Tough Day

Tough and crazy day, in at Viney at 7 off at 1. Fished our known spots from ramp down to the Kings, very hard to find what you would call "good" bait balls of any size. Found one fish here and one there, no pattern for us at all. Ended with 13 blacks (1 keeper size) and 1 dink Walleye. Spinnerbait, Red fin, and drop shot all got equal small shares, nothing on a jig. Water temp 74-75. Will go again in a day or two, Honey dos are calling. Duck.
  6. Who the hell was casting? Leave them at the dock next trip and be safe. Duck.

    Fair Day

Not as good as Monday but okay. In at Viney fished down to the mouth of the Kings, Lucky for us the fish wanted us to see them chasing shad or we probably would only have caught 2 on drop shot, when they boiled we caught a total of 18 more 10 on Redfin and 8 on spinnerbaits. 3 would be keeps. Usually lots of bait balls to be found but not today, it was strange to say the least.

    Upper End

Craig caught it on a spinnerbait.. We are both glad to be back on the pond. I think a good fall bite is coming after the HOT summer. Any opinions.?

    Upper End

Put in at Viney at 6:45 and had a good fall day, ended up at 1 pm. with 27 blacks ( 4 would be keepers) and 1, 16 inch Walleye. 12 on WE mouse or blue herring spinnerbait, 4 on Redfin (early) and the rest drop shot. Mainly main lake and secondary points with timber being the key, pretty steady bite all day, missed at least 5. Water temp. 75-76. Going again Wednesday. Duck.

    Back

Have been gone for over a month on a " please your honey trip " to Alaska and British Columbia ( Craig and his wife joined us). Caught some Halibut and small trout but most of the time spent sight seeing. Also I got an 8 week old Vizsla pup that is training me. Plan to get back to fishin the Rock later this week for the fall bite. Hope all is well with all you fine people. Duck.
  11. Many years ago Table Rock was 15 or more feet low, it was the perfect way to see how many dangerous places there are. I know there are always changes made with flood but still a great lesson. I have been running TR since 1976 and still learning. One of the places to watch carefully is the mouth area of Rock creek and the first bend down past Eagle Rock. Also swing wide going into Roaring River and respect the markers.. Anyone else have warning areas, maybe we can save someone from trouble. Be Careful, Duck.
  12. What is its top speed?
  13. rps, my brother-in-law said he saw you out today in his yellow bullet and you waved, he had 2 friends from Calif. with him and not me. Wanted you to know I didn't snub you and we will say hi when I'm with him. Duck.
  14. RPS, yes we do, that is my brother-in -laws Bullet, I have a Tracker 180 with a OZA decal on the Merc. We have met you a time or two around Beaver town. I live just down the street from you at 99. Glad to have you back in town, hope you had a good trip. Duck.
  15. Quillback, we were in the yellow bullet boat. Were you on a flat by the Emerald ramp at 5;20. Stay sake. Duck
  16. Had a fair early bite from 5:30 till 7:30 with 7 on the spinnerbait and 3 on the Red fin. Had 7 more but lost them before we could boat them. Ran to a bluff end and caught 1, 3 pounder on a swim bait and 7 more on dropshot. Tried the DT 16 and a fat free shad with no luck. Odd thing was where we usually can always locate fish on the finder on the deeper flats they were not there. Need to work on finding a pattern for mid morning. Total of 5 fish over 15 inches. Very few boats, yahoo. Good fishin, Duck.

    Not To Bad

Thanks for the info Bill, we will try your advice for sure. You are always very helpful with sharing you fishing know how , I'm sure i am not the only one that appreciates it. I guess this means not boat swap deal.LOL. Good fishin, Duck.
  18. Same report as I posted on the 7th but with not as many fish. Fished same areas and ended up with 3 on the spinnerbait, 10 on drop shots and 2 on jigs. All blacks with 2 keeper size. Ran into Bill B. about 11 and he said he and his client were having a good day, thanks for the jig tip Bill wish we had talked to you earlier. Boy what a nice looking rig he has, wonder if he would want to swap for my Tracker? The navy started showing up at about 10 and continued to multiply, we were off by noon. Good fishin, Duck.

    Yahoo

The Rock took pity on us today, put in at Viney with first cast at 5:30. Started on some flats with top water and spinner baits( War Eagle- mouse) Had 3 0n the Red Fin and 12 0n the spinner, also 4 on a Sexy char. pointer. Switched to the drop shot and collected 15 more almost all from 1 bluff end. We had 3 over keeper size and most of the others were 14-141/2 inch chubbers. Plus 3 nice whites. Nice and cloudy with a breeze, water temp 78.. Nothing like this lake at dawn, Gods gift. Good luck, Duck

    Spanked

Because of the morning weather we got a late start. Put in at Sweetwater and thought we could put Craig's grandson on some fish. Wrong, first cast at 8:45 cloudy and very little breeze. Tried our flats with 2 shorts on spinnerbaits. Ran to some points and tried a bit of everything, went to some deep docks past Shell Knob and caught 3 more shorts on drop shot. 1 short on PBJ jig. Just fishin not catchin, still a great day to be on the Rock. Try again Wed. Good Luck, Duck.
  22. Did not do as well as Champ and Donna but not a bad day. Put in at Sweetwater and had the first cast at 5:15, some breeze and cloudy. We fished flats and points from the ramp down past Viola, our total was 21 blacks with 4 over 16 inches and 2 being over 21/2 lbs. 14 of um was on a Screamin Eagle in mouse and the other 7 were on a Red Fin. I think the only reason Champ beat us was he had a great fisherlady in the back seat of his boat. No offence Craig. Will try again Sunday and may try the Baxter area for some new hunting grounds. Good luck. Duck
  23. RPS drive safe and come back in one piece. Have a good time. Duck.
  24. Yes rps early, early, is the ticket. We are trying to find something later but with few results. Maybe the drop shot will pick up soon. It sure is fun lookin though. What a lake we have here, where else would anyone want to go when you can catch fish dam to dam. Duck
  25. Took the advice of rps and fished real close to home. Put in at Holiday Island and fished to Eagle Rock. First cast at 5:05, started within clear view of my house, Had 23 blacks with 5 over 15 inches 3 nice whites and 1, 21 inch Walleye I will have for supper. Thanks Craig. Hint, I could not tell if we were in Arkansas or Missouri on the Eye. Off at 11;30 when then Navy began arriving for the weekend. Most EARlY on the fin, some on WE spinnerbait(mouse) and some on drop shot. Like rps I also had an easy 5 pounder on but when she cleared water my fin went one way she the other. That means another day for sure. Good Luck. Duck
