  1. Ok just curious have you been catching them in Swan, I was going to go back down to Beaver tonight see if I cant have another good night be for the rains come again.
  2. It is pretty much right there it was hard to see at night but it was still pretty wide right there and up for a little ways. When beaver turns and goes back north east is where it started getting narrow again. Are going today
  3. I finally got my INTERNET back up Thanks Bill for posting this information for me, I hope that everyone Will be able to make it should be a great seminar.
  4. Decided to go down last night any way after hearing bad reports of nothing being caught, the way I look at it how do I know it is true with out going and checking for my self. We did not get down there until 8:30 way after the dusk bite but I talked to several people who said it was slow. I had the old Clacka Craft Drift boat with me and I am sure glad we did, if I would of had a regular boat I'm not sure where I would have put it in the water. I found a nice flat spot up by Devils Tea table and we unloaded the boat up and over a down tree. I really was starting to decide that this might not be worth it but after about a 30 minute battle to get the boat in the water I was sure glad we did. That is nice thing with these boats you can virtually put them in any where. We then motored up about 1 mile then started to drift down not seeing much action. The water was still high and a little stained as we got closer to where we had put the boat in whites were exploding all over the top of the water we then set anchor and proceeded to fish. I fished a Rio 150gr sink tip with a floating fly that is chartreuse and white the reason I was doing this because I felt that the fish wanted something that was suspended in the water column it payed off. I Had tried a floating line and had also tried flies on the bottom be for going to this suspended style of fishing. Had the best luck with this method, although it is more of a lake style of fishing. If you can find them you will catch them just have to be mobile they are scattered all over the place. The water temp was 48 when we started to fish, hopefully this warm week will warm the water back up and they will turn back on. Lots of males last night here is a pic of a nice female that I caught right off the start with a #6 clouser that is black and purple. Michael
  5. Oh boy I cant wait bring it on, All I have to say is bring on the chuck and duck.
  6. I agree that is the only way to keep it coming back, If everyone will do this it wont take long.
  7. Thanks for finishing the old tale I was not sure how it ended, I even tried to call my grandfather to ask no answer. The fishing should get better after this front as long as we do not get all this rain. Michael
  8. We fished Beaver And Swan yesterday Started at about 3am and quit about 11am. We ended up with 8 whites 7 from Beaver and one from Swan. It was pretty cool yesterday and the wind was blowing from the East I new we should have just stayed home, but how would you know what is going on by doing that. We really did not see any one yesterday morning catching very many. I will say when the bite started it lasted for about 30 min and it was right at sunrise. and then it quit. Gray/ White clousers on a 150gr. sink tip. I figured with the weather change being cooler that it might just not be a good day and when I saw the wind was going to be out of the east, My grandfather would not even fish when it blows out of the east I guess some old wise tale." When the wind blows out of the East the fish bite the least and when it blows from the west they bit the Best". I guess we proved that right yesterday, for us any way, some one Else might of had a bang up day. Michael

  10. Here is what I say and I own a fly shop use what ever you are most comfortable using. I like fly rods but I am not afraid to pick up a spinning rod. They both have there benefits and I assure you there will be times of the year one will work better than the other. If I were going to spin fish for Whites and Walleye here is what I would be using stick baits, beetle spins, swimming minnows and just a plain jig under a float. One the most effective baits for Whites in the spring are swimming minnows and a lipless crank baits or more commonly call a rattle trap. Grays, Blues, Purple, Red, Chartreuse and White are very effective colors or any combo of the two colors Good luck Michael
  11. Family calls tonight and Saturday night will not be back down untill Sunday am I have a red and white drift boat If you see me come over aswell. Not sure if the MDC Shocked last night or not with the storms that rolled through down ther. I went to the Little Sac Pretty slow up there. I forgot my phone at home yesterday so I was unable to upload these photos so here is one from Wednesday night on Beaver Creek caught on a bunny Zonker with a epox head on a floating line, it is a 26inch walleye Phill can you flip the photo for me I do not know how to do it Michael
  12. Depends on how much rain we get I think that the fish will be back on It usally is about a 24-36 hour down time. and the lures you talked about should work.
  13. Just for everyones info MDC will be shocking Beaver creek tonight so it might be slow fishing tonight and Friday. Saw a lot of Walleye last night. Hope we do not get all the rain they are predicting to get,I heard up to 3-4 inches today through Friday that will bring it up a lot again. Definitely need a boat to fish it. very hard to fish from bank. Last night there was no one really catching any thing I heard one guy from bank say that it was hot at dusk We had 5 Whites and one Walleye that was about 26 inches. Good luck Michael
  14. Yes plenty of Whites to be had need a sink tip 150gr with all the water Grey/white and chartreuse/white clousers. The road is under water in a lot of spots. 24. In my opinion I think that it made the fishing better especially for the way I like to fish striping streamers. Up by the dam where I will usually put a nymph or a midge on under an indicator, I was able to cast my 150gr sink tip with streamers and do quite well. I think that the water was very wadable plus I think that it made the channels more pronounced. I also think that it keeps the fish more active because we were picking fish up yesterday in areas that I would usually just pick up and row through. The water is swift but not so swift that you can not wade if you have trouble wading in swift water then make sure sure you have a wading staff and a pair of spiked boots. Michael
  25. We had a great trip Thursday and Friday caught quite a few fish but I have no pics yet. When I get them I will post them, but I'm sure everyone will have seen them by that time. Phil it was good to see you and glad you had a good day off fishing If that is the min. flow I love it I will be glad when I get my motor fixed. that was some hard rowing yesterday. Michael
