Did real well at the mouth of Roaring River with a tiny torpedo catching a lot of 14 inchers but no keepers. Then they started to chase the balls of shad out in about 20 - 26 ft of water. Caught them on a pop r and a crank bait. Still no keepers. When that bite stopped I started fishing a jig around docks and lay downs and stumps. Lost a realy nice one on the first jig bite. It wrapped me on the stupid cross bar of a boat slip. I had quite a few on the jig but all were close but no cigar on the keeper part of it.
I caught a 40# flat on a power worm, in a bass tournament on Lake Fork, TX several years ago (when I lived there). I kept it tied to the side of my boat. When it was time for weigh in it went water skiing with me. I won the bass tourney and had some nice catfish steaks to boot.
I was at a Kroger store several years ago ( don"t have one where I live). They had a Kroger brand garlic spray like Pam. It was less than $2 each so I grabbed all 5 they had on the shelf. It works just as good as the Bang stuff and much cheaper. I also like anise...another reason why I like Net Baits
What an idiot! I wander how many years he has been fishing with out a license. He also got fined forfishing without a license. Serves him right to not get the record!
Fished beaver Sat. Was going to stay until the traffic got bad. Was just about to call it quits when it started raining and most people got off the water. I wound up fishing till 6. Beaver doesn't get as bad as TR but also doesn't fish quite as good.
Went out Friday evening. Where are the bigger fish? Was on the water from 6:15 to 12:00. We fished the Kings/White points by the camp. Caught some in 10 ft of water and some in 20. Most of what we caught was right near a steep drop or ledge. Nothing big and had maybe two or three keepers. Not a great night of fishing but the evening was beautiful with the moon, little breeze and night critter sounds.
Glad his injuries weren't life threatening and he will be OK. I am sure he is a veteran boater. One error almost cost him dearly. Makes you think. We all have those moments-- boating , on the road or what ever. Thank God for life vests and kill switches!
