  1. How is the bass fishing right now? Has the buzzbait bite been on yet?
  2. FC line is tough to use on spinning gear, but sounds like you may have overfilled. It also depends on the brand. Some FC lines are stiffer and not as limp as others. If not, use some KVD Line and Lure conditioner and it will help tremendously with line memory.
  3. One place I got a TON of info was from www.mudhole.com. Has articles and videos on beginning rod building.
  4. From builders in the Bass community, Rainshadows are a nice blank......very cost effective.
  5. have you checked the Do-It Molds?
  6. The jig is one of my go to's. Due to going through so many, I make my own jigs. I make both ball head (like the Eakins) in various sizes and football jigs along with shakey heads. I would have to agreed with the action of the rage chunk. I love it, but in the winter I will use something with less action like a Zoom lil Critter Craw.
  7. Any update on ramp status? I will be around the dam/pittsburg area next wednesday and want to get out and scout around a little in the low water and maybe fish a little bit. Hermitage the best ramp right now? How is Lighthouse? Are both free or do they cost? My subdivision ramp is not usable. I may have a back seat open too for a couple hours of bass fishing.
  8. Just wanted to say thanks to those that give us the fishing reports for Pomme. I have a lake lot down there but am 2 hrs away and cannot get on the water that much. When I can make it down I like reading the reports to help me narrow down what is going on. Can't find many fishing reports on Pomme at all. Easy to find them on LOZ or table Rock, but the smaller lakes get overlooked. Thanks to those who take the time to post them and please keep them coming.
  9. Looking for info about these winter tourneys......anybody know anything about them?
  10. Any idea how long the lake will be drawn down for the dam repairs? what is the best ramp to use in the low conditions?
  11. I have switched all my spinning rigs to braid with a fluoro leader. best decision on line I have ever made. I love it. no twists, small diameter and strong line, great sensitivity. Awesome on spinning gear.
  12. I was looking into it, but I noticed the tourneys are on Sundays. I am not a huge fan of Sunday Tournaments. Haven't heard anything bad though. Sounds like a good fun trail.
  13. Thanks Salty....now $10 a month, but that is exactly what I was looking for.
  14. This is the Fluoro that I have found to be the best value. Not as expensive as Seguar (also good just spendy) I have tried many and will tell you that with fluoro you typically get what you pay for. I found that with Vanish.....that is exactly what the fish does.....the worst I have tried. As far as line memory (coils) use KVD Line and lure conditioner and your line memory will not be an issue. I have also tried with good results, Sufix and Parralellium both more expensive than BPS. Heve heard good reviews of the Trilene 100% and mixed reviews of Vicious. I have started trying less expensive co polymer line (fluoro coated) PLine and so far it is treating me well. If I like it enough....I will stick with it due to cost.
  15. My folks and I have our travel trailer on a lake lot near Pittsburg. The subdivision calls for us to remove the trailers for the winter. I talked with J8 Storage and they want $55 a month. I don't need indoor storage, just a place to move it to so I don't have to bring it all the way home. Anybody have any suggestions???
  16. The rules I quoted are from the 2010 Web page rules AND the Event Directory sent out BEFORE the season. You don't go into a season not knowing the rules and the rules do not change for a championship. That would be like saying the Super Bowl has a different set of rules than the regular season. A flyer is just that.....an announcement. A flyer's intent is to be informational, but most likely will not divulge every single one of the details. Again, these rules were known, were announced at the pre tournament meeting, posted on the web, and sent out via mail before the 2010 season even started. I always make sure I know what I am getting in to before I begin to fish whatever circuit I fish.
  17. YOU DON'T GET IT!!! THERE IS NO PROBLEM. YOU ARE WRONG!!!!!! Figure it out for cryin out loud and yes I will send you the picture of the 2010 rules that state word for word what I posted above. There are no "new" rules as you claim. They are the exact same. Get you panties out of a wad. Tired of reading about you complaining about this on here and other forums when you have zero argument.
  18. I am holding the 2010 Anglers in Action and Big Bass Bash Event Directory that was sent out to myself and 10,000 other anglers. The quote I posted above is the EXACT same thing as what the 2010 rules in the Event Directory says.....These rules have NOT changed AT ALL. I can send you a picture if you like
  19. From their website under Rules: 4. PAYBACKS: Anglers In Action will pay one (1) place for every five (5) teams entered with a maximum of twenty-five (25) cash places being paid regardless the number of teams entered. 80% payback
  20. Gonna get out to Pomme or LOZ, just haven't decided yet. LOZ is closer but would like to do some low water scouting at pomme.....any fishing reports?
  21. Sorry, I meant any info on the location of the palletes MDC is putting in along shorelines.
  22. Does the MDC have to post the location of these? Trav, would you be willing to share the locations?
  23. thanks
  24. Not sure what you mean by "sealed", but if you are looking to shine them up (yes painted aluminum) and protect them from the elements. Use BTS (Bow to Stern) www.btsproducts.com. You can use it on the whole boat to protect it from fading and it makes cleaning very easy at the ramp.
  25. I actually just did this today to my 798c. very easy using the Humminbird PC program that is free from the HB website as long as you registered your unit. Here is a link to a PDF with all the instructions you need. http://www.dougvahrenberg.com/files/Humminbird_How_To_s_for_Customers2.pdf
