  1. Thank you Mr. Bush= SARCASM...By the way I still like him a lot more than what we got now.Yup your right he was considersd environmentaly unfriendly...but by who? green peace, sierra club, that great group called PETA, and lets not forget those I know whats best for you liberal types. Obama is probably working up a sorry speach for mother nature right now. I believe a few weeks ago EPA announced that carbon dioxide was a harmful gas, had to think really hard but I believe my 4th grade science teacher tought thats what we humans blow out after every breath. What are we going to do?
  2. Well I have seen the light, Moving out of the house tomorrow, tearing it down so nature can have it back. Guess I'll sleep under a tree and when I wake in the morning I'll walk around the other side and take a crap, unless of course one of you come up with some more interesting scientific research that proves that it's bad for the environment. For the love of pete you people that have all this time for "Research". After working 10 or 12 hours coming home to take care of house work (Yes I still use a gasoline powered lawnmower) I have niether the time or the desire to read what yet another stuffy, arogant beurocrat who thinks being human is bad has to say. I'm guesing the ones on here with all the stats are probably in college or just recently graduated. Your sick and tired of me, well I'm sick and tired of being told my pickup is bad for the environment, drilling for oil is bad,Hell I can't even use a decent lightbulb after I forget 2012? Thank you Mr. Bush. You want to talk about how bad this stuff is then I suggest start practicing what you preach. Quit using lead weights. stop driving your cars, and go live under a tree. While we're at it I guess we all better start running around naked, It takes diesel to run those tractors for cotton, and we all know how bad that is for mother earth, and we sure wouldn't want to harm one of her creatures. Better shut your computer down too, we're burning that nasty old coal to run those power plants. Every time I hear some meely mouthed snot telling me my lifestyle isn't what they think it should be makes me want to go out and pour a quart of oil around a tree or something.
  3. Well I'm already the selfish, gas guzzler( see previous post )Which one of you guys want to be the evil lead guy ? Don't fight over the title guys we still need nominees for wood burner, fish keeper, Taney shuffler, aerosal sprayer,I guess that could fall under ozone killer! Some hateful irresponsible a#@*?^: that uses electricity. Anyway you get the idea, Feel free to add your nominations. Now about the lead...YEA LEAD
  4. Probably been covered before so sorry in advance for bringing it up again but here goes. Do the fish bite better if the generators are running or is it just the opposite. Thanks..AB
  5. Found one...Thanks
  6. Same boat with everything listed $16000 firm.
  7. I think different circumstances different action. I had that problem with my son so I finally told him what time I was leaving if he wanted a ride get here before that. He didn't believe me he pulled in the drive while I was pulling out, made him follow me to the lake. Now he's punctual!
  8. I'm looking for a 14 or 16 ft Jon or maybe semi v with or without a motor. I would prefer 90's model or better and probably a tiller. Just wanting something for Taney and Fellows lake. If you know of anything please PM me. Thanks AB
  9. I stopped by this afternoon to look at it, already gone so I bought a bunch of crankbaits instead .Nice store. Congrats on the sale
  10. Hey Strawhat: I noticed the water was a little off too, we got rain Friday night so maybe that was it. Just a few more weeks and the party crowd will be done, then we can get back to fishing.
  11. Put in at Masters about 5:30 and hung around the island trolling 20 to 25 ft. using BPS version of a wiggle wart in a torqoise color and caught a bunch of just short Walleye and Bass. Man they were fat and healthy, just not long enough. They were hitting fast and furious for just about an hour then they slowwed down. Tried bottom bouncing and caught a few small blue gills but that was about it. 10 o'clock the jet skis started coming out, frizzle frazzle, frizzle froam, time for this one to come home. It was a lot of fun just no keepers for me.

  13. Hey Rich...No I'm not stressed a bit. Sounds as if Clint's the one needs a calm bomb.
  14. I farmed 240 acres in Hickory county, I had a guy drive thru one of my hayfields in the spring while it was really wet and cut ruts in the field because he was scouting for turky. How did I know this? He drove past me in that field while I was building a fence and then couldn't understand why I was mad, or why I ran him off. The next year I had a group of deer hunters tear down that fence and then tell me it wasn't them and then told me they were from Kansas City and owned a half acre lot in the county so that gave them the right to hunt there, they couldn't believe I ran them off either. watched a couple climb a fence to fish a small river thar ran thru my place. and cussed me when I ran them off. After chasing cows, guilding fence, fixing ruts in fields, and fixing vandalized equipment, my rule is if it's not worth your time to stop at the house ask permission, then use gates or crawl under the fence leaving my stock alone your getting run off with a ticket from the sheriff for trespassing.
  15. I can identify a black snake, so after the initial shock and girl scream I leave them alone. If I stumble across a snake while walking in a field or woods (NOT YARD) I leave them alone. If a snake wants to keep living follow these 2 rules. If thet try to get in my boat I have a judge to convince them otherwise. When I had the farm in Wheatland I was building a fence and had to go thru a pretty wooly spot driving steel posts a rattler made known his presence and to this day there's a 30 ft gap betwwen posts.
  16. I wasn't going to do this, but I can't stop myself. The bass guys want catch and release and the Trout guys want catch and release, but from what I've seen a lot of these same guys don't think anything of loading up with crappie, walleye, cats, or any other species as long as it's not there fish of choice. I was at the hatchery on Taney and had a nice talk with the agent and he told me if I caught a big fish I may as well keep it because it was probably a brooder who's time was short anyway. That being said I wouldn't keep it because the smaller ones are better eating (my opinion) the same with about any other fish. Now the walleye, trout, and I think maybe the bass are stocked therfore we're not trying to save seed fish. the cats and crappie as far as I know are not so it seems to me the ones to catch and release would be those I like the blue cats and turn everything over 24" and under 20" loose (my choice). Reason being they grow slow. I have a replica of a 63lb. on my wall and the conservation agent said he was probably about 50 years old. I don't know how long it takes bass to grow, but I bet it's faster than that Not trying to convert, or slam anyone. Just wonderd about it for a while and decided to type and see what happens.
  17. As A matter of fact...When gas was $4.00 I did call aunt Clair and told her if they found oil in my backyard we should be drilling because this country is run on OIL. As far as the power plant you betcha. As A matter of fact if the government thinks drilling in water is better they can bring out a little derick and drill thruogh the pool Didn't get to hear the speech last night but did hget a few of the highlights, going to lose a few more freedoms maybe but hey we'll probably get a few new tax hikes to counter that.
  18. OK I'm done with this, It's getting off the subject, I'm going back to the fishing forum. It's fine to try and fix this problem by trying to use less or find an alternative source as I do. But theres a handfull of people in this country who are making a fortune off of global warming oh wait its global climate change now. They've convinced the masses it's our fault while they're jetting around the world collecting money and nobel prizes. I don't buy into the whole thing, parts of it yes, but not all. We use oil and coal. We can't use nuclear because of an accident what 40 years ago and it's to expensive to build? I'm betting technology has gotten better since then. I feel for those folks in the south and yes everything that can be done should be to help them, but to quit drilling isn't the answer when we are this dependant on oil. I'm a driver by trade so I am against the stop drilling idea, I guess thats another lifestyle thing. I said SUV and drill so I guess I'm a selfish nut that doesn't care for my children or grandcildren. By the way it's BP, Haliburton, and Washingtons fault!!
  19. No they're not but as I said earlier you come up with an alternative fuel thats cost effective and I don't have to spend thousands retrofitting my SUV and I'm in. While we're clarifieng what do you want to use? I havn't claimed to know the answer, I'm saying all of you that want alternative fuels need to come up with something. If you fish from a boat, drive a car, or just about anything else your using "the resources I proudly use"...So it seems as if your dependant too! Just not willing to admit it.
  20. I can afford my lifestyle just fine thank you. The question is how much more in taxes do I have to pay because some tree hugger thinks drilling for oil isn't for him. You want to live in a cave go ahead just don't force it on me. While your in your cave what are you using for heat and cooking, can't burn firewood, thats bad for the environment ya know!
  21. flytyer..I forgot all about 2012...6 more months and going for the 12 months same as cash deals
  22. I just don't get it everybody is wanting alternative fuel sources OK thats great, you come up with one that works as goog as gas or diesel and is the same price or less and I'm on board with you. One spill and we've shut down drilling for 6 months that will be extended! One accident with a nuclear plant and we can't do that anymore, What do you want an electric car that goes 100 miles on 1 charge well thats great if you don't live over 100 miles round trip to work or town. And don't say move closer because thats not happening.60 minutes run an epesode on the electric car and it's more environmentally unfriendly than gas. You have to take in manufacturing the batteries, the car itself, and also where is the electricity coming from? As jdmidwest said your ethanal was-is a fiasco, I tried using it and lost 50 miles to the tankfull while it cost the same as regular, also ethanal isn't very 2 stroke friendly.Like I said earlier you come up with a goog alternative and I'm in, meanwhile push that seal out of the way and start drilling I need gas for my SUV. Theres plenty of blame to go around and yes BP should be held acountable, but so should every other business that was involved and our government should be a help not a hendrence. Has anyone noticed how outraged Obama and the crew got after people started wondering where they were. Just a quick 30 day poll check and there they are...Hmm
  23. I read a magazine or watched a history show can'y remember and I guess it really doesn't matter but here goes...they've (can't remember who they are) drilled down for core samples at the south pole and found vegetative matter way deep meaning a hundred gazzilion years ago it was green and warm at the south pole...I don't think there was an industrial revolution going on at that time. My thought is the earth is doing what it has always done, and it's pretty egotistical of man to think we can cause worldwide change like you are describing. Besides that if we could how are we going to change it? Is China, Russia, India or any other industrial countries other than the U.S. going to shut industry down? I don't think so. Anyway my 2cents feel free to tear it apart.
  24. Thank you denjac, We will be giving your tips a try when we get down there.
  25. Good morning. We are new to Table Rock and don't know a thing about it. We will be fishing the Long Creek arm of the lake and would like some suggestions and helpful hints. We are used to fishing Stockton, Pomme de Terre and Truman. We like Walleyes, Crappie, Bluegill, Trout, and just about anything else that would like to get on our hooks. Table Rock is a lot deeper and clearer than the above and not sure how to go about getting started. Any help will be appreciated. thanks again Mrs Amish Bill
