I like the river to be under 2.5 feet to float/fish. It also depends on what part of the river you are floating. The weather guy just said that oregon county was going to get 2 inch by the end of friday. Hope he is WRONG!
Brian,
How much water is in the river. I have seen the water data site. Looks like a lot! Could you post some pic of the river in its current state. I would like to see what it looks like. Keep us posted! Superfly
Has anyone fished shoal creek down from where capps creek enters. Reports? Any trout, smallies, ect. Can you float it. Thanks for any feedback. Superfly

I have a report from 8-16 to 8-17. Blue Ribbon area fishing GREAT! Fish healthy and strong. Numbers of fish caught large! Check with Brain and Ryan at the 11point canoe rental for the hot fly patterns. Change your plans Oct. is a long time off. Practice catch and release!

Fortunately or unfortunately at this time in my life I have a job. But I have spent a lot of my free time learning MO's trout waters! The past few years I have went out west to fish and hired a guide both times. Yes I had a great time and caught lots of fish. But want I gained most from the guides was an education on fly fish. I have been able to apply those experiences to my home waters. I guess what I am tring to say is kep an open mind you may learn something. And the last I checked an education is not free. I don't know Sam but would like to say thanks for helping those who need you and for the reports! Keep them coming.
Anyone,
Planning a trip in May. Thinking about starting at Cane Bluff to try the smallies out. Is there any known portages between Cane Bluff and Greer? Is there any nice sand bars to camp at where Greer Springs dumps into the 11point?
Thanks, Matt
Mark,
Take a picture it makes a great wall hanger. Trophy fish belong in their trophy waters for everyone to enjoy. Practice catch and release! Superfly
Brian, Great looking fly! Thanks for the recipe and the pics. I understand your frustrations with working with biots. The rubber tail/wings I take it help cut down on tying time. I look forward to tying some. Princes are my go to fly on the Eleven Point. A yellow Prince seems to work well in the fall and winter on the 11point. Something maybe to try on the North Fork. Matt
Brian, All of the fish looked like they have been eating well (real healthy).
Those wild fish fight 3 times as hard as any stocker at the parks or Taney. Look forward to hooking up with you in a month. Keep us updated! Superfly
Midge and I were able to escape to the 11 point on Thursday. The only person I saw all day was Midge's ugly mug. As Brian stated the river is about 1 foot above normal. There is still a lot of run off from the creeks. The fishing was good for the condition of the above normal flows. We caught and released a fair number of fish mostly wild. All of the fish were between 12 and 14 inches. They mainly took Don's crawfish and Prince Nymphes. We also used bitch creeks and San Juan worms in different colors. Most of the day we used a two fly rig with a mix of the flies listed. A lot of weight needed. Get the bugs on the bottom. We did real well drifting from the canoe (wish I had a drift boat) and the upper islands fished well wading. Mary decker Shoals was hard to fish do to the above normal levels. The weather was great! The Eleven Point Canoe Rental as normal was a great service.
Thanks for all the comments guys! Terry and David it sounds like you like American Made truck but foreign built rods. I don't know about you two!!!
