  1. Goose, you can search the archives on this site and find some excellent info on drop shotting. It's not one of my favorite tactics but if you want some particular info, feel free to PM me. I'll do what I can to help or hook you up with the right person.
  2. Yep, it's a shame that info doesn't flow as freely as it once did. Killing bass has a way of plugging that pipeline.
  3. Sucking? Surely you jest.
  4. Welcome the forum, Ryan. Might as well get used to some long, slow days on Beaver. That's pretty much the norm there.
  5. You're thinking along the right lines, Goose. This ol' lake is tough enough to figure out at good times of the year, much less in the heat of summer. Look up whiteriveroutfitters.com or hookedonbass.com.
  6. It's a trap, Wrench.
  7. Don't hop it. Don't even drag it but just a few inches every 10 seconds. They will come get it.
  8. On top of that, there's a big copperhead that lives right there at the ramp and likes to crawl up under your truck while you're out fishing. And then there's the hornet nest ...
  9. Donna is better at backing the trailer and handling the boat than a lot of men. Our routine is I back her in when we launch and then she goes and gets the trailer in the afternoon. You'd have to ask her why we do it that way. And by the time I climb down out of the boat when we'rle loading up, she has half or more of the latching down done. Yeah, I think I'll keep her.
  10. That's just nuts. Wow.
  11. Yes, I think any sportsman would like to see trophy fish of any species released, if possible. And we have pretty much beaten the hide off the carcass of the catch-and-release horse.
  12. Bo, I launched and loaded there last Friday at 923 and I know what I'm talking about. I've launched off the parking lot when I didn't want to wait for the ramp to clear after a tournament back in April at 917. You can easily launch 50 feet to the left of the dock with no ditch to worry about.
  13. Thanks for the enlightenment, guys.
  14. It can't be said much better than that.
  15. Crappie and walleye are stocked by MDC. Bass are not.
  16. I think conservation pool is the same year-round, although I could certainly be wrong. And Donna can leave that statement alone if she'd like to fish any of our really good spots in the near future.
  17. Good to hear, Enforcer. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Pretty good catches considering the conditions.
  19. Don't forget, we had some awful flooding 2-3 years ago in August. Tore the crap out of some of the golf courses here in Bella Vista.
  20. If 917 is the "new" normal, it's 11 feet above that.
  21. Oh yes, I fillet my share of crappie and Walters.
  22. I question the theory of backward current 40 miles or so from the dam. This is a very slow-moving current to begin with, so I don't see how it can "bounce back" 40 miles.
  23. QB, you can launch right there off the parking lot with no trouble. Just stay back toward the middle section of the lot to avoid any dock cables.
  24. Table Rock can be one tough cookie when the water gets high. And for some reason, our LM population seems to be way down. Those two factors do not add up in favor of the fishermen.
