  1. I think we need to start requiring an IQ test. Some just aren't smart enough to be able to post.
  2. Thanks for ruining a perfectly good thread with all your political bullshit.
  3. Don't worry, I hate Shitmanos even if they are free. Yeah, it's probably unwarranted, but I had a lot of problems with them years ago.
  4. I think you are worrying about this a little too much. The James river has seen an increase in the spotted bass population the past few years and it's had plenty of otters for as long as I can remember, but it seems that the quality and numbers of smallmouth have not diminished. You have a river that flows into Table Rock, you will never stop the spot invasion. But don't worry I don't think you will see a decline in the smallmouth. Here is one caught last week on the James. Caught right at an access with people swimming all around. We caught a lot of smallies in that area but this was the best of the bunch, right at 16.5 inches.
  5. No but there are plenty of others that you do show. Dammit Drew, calm down. You are getting all worked up again over nothing. I don't know the last time I had a PBR or even if I ever have??? But I will try some just as soon as Drew drives down here with a case of it to share with me down the river.
  6. Sweet. Looks like you have some nice gills in there too.
  7. Yessa Mr Wrench. I promise to be reeaallll good from now on. We all know how snippy you get when we are off topic.
  8. I have a 40HP Tohatsu I would sell you cheap. Get the darn thing done already. I'm working on the paint but it may be Tuesday before I know for sure.
  9. This has nothing to do with Jet Skis but it's the same mentality. What gives a fan the right to destroy a city because their team lost a game? I think the police need to lose the tear gas and put a couple of real bullets in these people.
  10. ある変人が引いた
  11. That does it. I can see the headlines now. "Man starves to death trying to loose enough weight to use stairmaster". I gotta quit being fat.
  12. I guess. I mean I hear of some that are having trouble, but it depends on what you are looking for. Two of my daughters have these, one has nice long even hackles that look very nice, the other has a wider, webbier (you might check that for me Eric, I don't think it was a word until now) hackle. The focus seems to be on the long thin hackles but they are moving to the wider and shorter stuff because they have ran out of the nicer inventory. Personally I haven't had a problem finding what I need at this point, but I'm not exactly tying dries here either.
  13. Ness it's been going on for awhile, and I don't think it's going to let up soon. The hackle suppliers can announce that they are going to keep the prices high all they want, but when the hair fashion fad wears out they will be stuck with us fisherman again. So if they want to move some product at that point they are going to have to adjust their pricing. Here's a link to a saddle that ended last week on ebay. $570.00!!!! Saddle Hackle on ebay
  14. Cool. I have some crazy ideas in my head that I need to apply to a hook. Let me know when you are ready.
  15. On the crease flies I think you need them to slope up in the front and put a little junk in the trunk to make it ride right in the water. And yeah, I think the klansman has potential.
  16. The Pole Dancer will walk the dog.
  17. Fixed it. But I agree with you, they just don't hold on like they would on plastics. I have had some luck fishing a furled worm and getting them to hold on to it long enough to figure out that they are there, but still get by butt handed to by a buddy fishing plastic.
  18. Like this? Here's a link to the pattern. Neal Osborn - Tube Jig Fly Dano, my best advise for you is to not fish with spin fishermen. It's a tough gig, catching smallmouth on a fly rod. But if you have the fly rod bug it's very rewarding. Yes other methods are more "effective" for those that are trying to catch the most or the biggest, but at this point I just want to catch something and enjoy the time outside. I would agree with Al on several things. It's hard to impart much action on a streamer so it's not even close to the same as a crankbait or spinnerbait. But there are small things you can do to increase your chances. I'm to the point that I don't really like to dredge the bottom for them, but in the past I have done pretty good on a worm pattern. But I mostly fished it like a carolina rig on the fly rod. It's a bit tricky to cast, more of a lob. Most of the smallmouth fishing I do is on the top. And the most productive fly I have used for that is a gurgler. And don't be afraid to let it sit and wait, just don't take your eyes off of it.
  19. I didn't mean it like that. Yeah it's so simple....but it's a great statement.
  20. always go for the fat jokes don't ya.
  21. Your just mad because I'm better than you.
  22. That is the most brilliant thing you have ever posted. I love it.
  23. It's just what I'm used to. I didn't even own a spinning reel till I was in high school. Got my first baitcaster when I was 7 or 8. You spend that much time with something you are bound to get good at it.
