  1. Very nice Al, very nice.
  2. I've bought a couple of float tubes from him. He's a good guy.
  3. Well I've been wondering what happened to you. Sounds like you had a super fun time. Hows your shoulder? Can you fish?
  4. So what will that prove, that you've lost your mind. Just because you were caught does not give you the right to be disrespectful to the people that are there. I really don't think the warden will mind you throwing a Zara spook, but you will be pretty annoying to those that are trying to enjoy themselves. Everybody breaks the law. Whether it's speeding, rolling through a stop light, fishing above the cable, or removing that tag from your mattress. But when you get caught, take your lumps like a man, not like a child.
  5. Welcome to Table Rock!! Hang in there Dennis, it's a tough lake, but when it rewards you it's worth it. The three keepers I had on Wednesday came off a secondary point in a spot about the size of a Yugo. Yeah we caught fish in other spots, but they were real scattered out and they were small fish. Stick with it, it's just starting to get good.
  6. What's the best way to carry a net?? And hey Terry, don't say "your hand". Try and be more original than that. I've seen guys with them on their vest, wading belt, and lots of other ways. Heck, MrDucky just puts the lanyard around his neck, well actually it's his head, he has no neck.
  7. Eagle Claw's fiberglass flyrod. Dano, I think, started the insanity. He's been pushing them on people like a drug dealer. After reading his earlier posts about these rods I just had to have one or two. By the way, thanks Dano. These are going to be good canoe rods. Last year I had a nice TFO rod that I released to the waters of the Eleven Point. It made me sick.
  8. I don't know how I missed this the first time, but it is a good read. I needed a good laugh this morning SIO3. Thanks. Funniest thing I have ever heard = "It's not really a bassfishin, head-rippin all out assault but more like a limp-wristed, panty-waisted flick of the rod tip."
  9. Well I decided to try and catch a stickbait bass today instead of going after the whites at Stockton. Almost went north to Stockton anyway but Shell Knob was calling my name. Me and my dad got there around 1:30 and fished until about 5. Caught 8 fish, all on stickbaits, with 3 nice keepers. Lost several more and Dad lost a good fish right by the boat. Well I say it was right by the boat, but we never got a look at it. Hey Matt, that stickbait is the one! And they were right where you thought they would be. We fished the mouth of the Kings. All the keepers, including the ones we lost, where within 100 yards of each other. I caught these two on consecutive casts.
  10. Trophy Fish??? Get a replica. Or how about just taking a picture. Especially on a special place like Crane. I'm not very fond of fish hanging on walls.
  11. So what time do we eat.
  12. I love the griffiths gnat. It is one of my favorite flies for trout and bluegill. And I always pick up rocks to see what's living on the bottom side. I don't usually do it before I start fishing but I will look at them throughout the day. I picked up a few the other day on Crane creek and they all had these little bright green worms with a black head on them. I have no idea what they were and I didn't have a fly that looked like them. But I will next time .
  13. The place that I always see them is almost exactly (by my gps anyways) 1 mile downstream of Kerr access. Go git those little fish eaters.
  14. Welcome to the forum Wilcox. You've found an excellant spot to feed your obsession.
  15. Good to see you back out there Terry. Gotta love those pine squirrels.
  16. If you want to trap some otters on the James I can show you where a couple live there also. I've seen them probably a dozen times over the last couple of years. They are fun to watch, but I sure wish they would quit eating all the smallies.
  17. I got to fish Crane for a couple of hours on Friday. Fished the lower section and only caught two 8 or 9 inch fish. I was suprised at what a mess it was down there. Lot's of beer bottle's, old tires and an old campfire. By the looks of the wood that was stacked up they were getting ready to have another one soon. I carried out as much as I could. I did not see as many fish as what I have seen in the past. They have posted up a new sign that says that the daily limit is 1 fish, I thought Crane was catch and release only. That may be part of it. And I spent some time sitting on a log watching a couple otters play. They looked like they have been eating well. The water was flowing really good and very clear. This has to be the best I have ever seen it. But the fish sure didn't cooperate, if they are still there.
  18. Dutch, I'm going to try and hit it sometime next week. I have things going on Monday and Tuesday, so it would be later in the week. I'll be in a Blue & White Champion, wearing an orange OAF hat.
  19. Welcome to the insanity! Hey guys, where do I pay my dues for the Sucky Fly Tyers Group.
  20. Well I thought there would be a better response to this. I have three daughters so this has really touched me. I may not seem like the most sensitive guy in person, but my girls are the world to me. I agree with Phil, OAF needs to be a part of this. I have 3 companies that want to sponsor a team, and I'm working on a lot more. $100.00 is nothing for a successful business. I have one guy that wants to fish so far, who else wants or is planning to go? You are not going to win a prize by being on a team with me, but the real prize is helping a little girl and her family. Being on the river and catching fish is just a bonus.
  21. Well that's no good. I was going to come down and sit in the truck with ya .
  22. I haven't made the drive yet, but I will in the next few weeks. The weather is just getting right and all of the rivers are flowing good.
  23. I'm gonna go with Dano's recommendation. I found a nice pattern for the partridge and orange.
  24. Any recommendations on what I should tie. Never tied or fished one. What would be a good pattern.
  25. I'm in the same boat as Steve, never tied any of these. But I guess it's about time to start. Im in.
