Like I said before I've never gigged so I'm not the problem. But what I see as the problem is this; If they can't/won't enforce the current laws, what makes any new laws desirable? I get the new law on the SMAs. Surprises me that they aren't closed to gigging already. If it's good enough for a trout, that we make millions of, it ought to be good enough for any fish. And everybody sees it. We aren't stupid. But adding more laws does not mean that the problem just goes away. Take a look around at the world. Lots of things are illegal but I don't see any laws resulting in less illegal activity. You need enforcement to make a difference. And if we could get that enforcement then we would see things improve on our rivers, lakes and fields.

That thick fly line that you speak of typically has 10 to 12 foot of very small tippet attached to it. That tippet is smaller and lighter than that 6lb test.

Very true Mitch. I was coming up on an access a couple of years ago and thought I was safe going way out around everybody. Then all of a sudden this little guy pops up right in front of me and I almost hit him. If I had been in a powered boat and not a canoe it would have been a very bad scene for many people to witness.

It's called easy fun. Once you tip anything with a worm the gills could care less, all they know is that the worm is what they are after. They lose their minds when they see a worm. So really anything that you create to tip with a worm is going to be successful.

I think a bare hook would be the best.

I wasn't the one that was badgering. You brought it up and I asked. Don't get me confused with chief. We are different people. But yes I do have a problem with people supporting causes with no idea why. But I guess we can't say that you really support them if you aren't a member. And truthfully I'm just looking for a reason to be a member. You can say spotted bass to me all you want. I freaking love them. Caught a couple this afternoon. But on this side of the state there is nothing wrong with them. So sorry if you thought I was badgering you. I was just trying to ask a simple question.

It wasn't intended. From what I heard last week he was 8th or 9th at his position. That's a lot of depth at one spot. They also claimed that while he was a good player he didn't bring anything extra to the team, wasn't outstanding, so he didn't make it.

Not blaming you. Plus it's kind of hard for folks over here to get too worked up about the invasive spotted bass.

See that's all I wanted. Just an example. The boy thinks everyone on here wants a fight and all I wanted is an example since he brought it up. Next weekend? No. But it would have been nice to have posted it earlier so folks could have made plans.

It wasn't an argument it was a simple question. You refuse to answer because you know the answer is nothing. If you want to bring up how much you support something you need to be prepared to give a reason why.

I agree. Took me just a few minutes to teach my 15 year old daughter to use one correctly and her response was "why didn't you let me start using one of these from the beginning". About 5 minutes later she had her little sister using one. Now their mom is a different story!

Yep. He didn't play well enough to make the cut but from what I understand they were already plenty deep at that position. I bet somebody else picks him up.
