  1. Here is a video fishin report from last week. Things should start pickin up with the rain and some warmer weather. http://www.getalimitoutdoors.com/2013-02-04-19-37-12/phil-stone
  2. Thanks for the nod there Mr. Babler, I appreciate all the kind words. Cajun, I have been on the Pro Staff with Legend since 05, and have ran several of their boats. In my opinion, your best results will be with a 24 Fury. These props are designed for overall performance. And yes, each boat is set up at the factory with the correct height of the motor set on the jackplate and then they are water tested. If you are still unsure, just ask Lou over at the factory and he will set you in the right direction. He has been in the bass boat industry for years and knows his stuff for sure!
  3. Thanks Phil for posting the video, will have more to come. And no laker67, I didn't pay for the ad spot, just tryin to help a buddy out and provide some info.
  4. Forgot to metion, Jason is based out of Oklahoma, and is covering the Classic this week.
  5. Hey everybody, just wanted to let you know about a new website ran by a friend of mine, Jason Gilstrap. Very informative coverage of regional lakes in Missouri as well as Oklahoma and Texas. I have started doing video fishing reports for some of the area lakes around here. Check them out www.getalimitoutdoors.com
  6. Yes mixermark, you can share card data between the two units. You can also mark a waypoint from the unit on the bow (say you come over a brushpile while fishing) and it gets saved to the unit on the dash as well (if they are networked)
  7. Jason, we usually use baitcasting equipment around here. I like to spool up with 12lb. Seaguar flourcarbon line on a 6'9" med. heavy rod with a fast tip. And a high speed reel, this usually does the trick on the lakes around here for bass and walleye. Hope this helps!
  8. Babler is spot on as usual, the walleye we have been catching around the Dam is any of the flat pea gravel points. Start out in 35ft and work your way to 28ft. They seem to like the white spoon real good and you have to get out there early! Best chance for a couple is from daylight till about 7:30 or so. The best bite around here has been on Bull Shoals in the last couple of weeks. Same patterns as on Table Rock, but there are numbers of good wallys on these points. Below is a pic from yesterday, these were the best two, ended up with 7 walleye, 12 bass, 5 white bass, and one huge gar chasing my spoon back to the boat! We fished the mid lake area around Diamond City from 6 till 10, saw 3 boats and none of them were pulling a skier!
  9. Bry, not tryin to step on toes or ruffle any feathers, but due to the recent warm weather, the fish you saw was more than likely a big school of gizzard shad. The sunny weather has created a plankton bloom and they were in the warmer coves feeding on the plankton. I have seen this several times on both Table Rock and Bull Shoals. I do believe that the recent floods has created habitat for the fry to survive and the Largemouth on both lakes are making a comeback. I guide full time on both lakes, and have seen an increase in the numbers of Largemouth being caught. Not saying you didn't see a big school of fish Bry, but standing on a stationary dock, it would be hard to get an accurate I.D. of type of fish in said cove. Just my 2 cents, again not tryin to stir the pot. But I do agree this should be a great year for fishin and catchin.
  10. I have a couple of the micro guide rods made by Rock Springs Tackle here in Harrison, very sensitive and casts a mile! On a lighter note, if Babler keeps losing weight, he is gonna be a micro guide! Sorry, couldn't help it!
  11. Thanks Matt! I had a great time with you guys as well, just wished the rain would have held off! If it makes you feel better, we thought it would quit raining Sat. afternoon, well its still raining! Thanks again, I had a really great time, can't wait to fish with you again this summer!
  12. Yea that stretch of bank helped cash a few checks so far this year, congrats on the toad Babler! We are still waiting on pics!
  13. Here is a pic from my graph taken two weekends ago. They are all white bass, my son and I caught thirty or so in about and hour and a half. This school is doing what Babler said, they were tight to the bottom at 60ft. and when you would catch one, the graph would come alive. My son would catch one and as he was reeling it in, I would reel my spoon up to get the net. Very seldom did I get the net in time because as I would reel mine in, I would get a fish on. The trick in catching them right now is getting the school started in feeding. Once you catch one, you can catch a bunch.
  14. Thanks Smalliebigs, right now to the middle of November is a great chance to catch some quality Smallmouth on Table Rock. They are really starting to feed up as the water starts cooling down. Every fish we caught today was spitting up crawdads and shad.
  15. The Smallmouth have really picked up the last couple of weeks in the Dam area. Like some of the recent reports, most of the fish have been coming in the 10-12ft. of water range. Best baits right now are Eakins jigs and spinnerbaits. Starting to catch some on Wiggle Warts as well. Look for most of the fish on points near some of the major feeder creeks, they are really feeding up on shad and crawdads right now. Still a decent deep bite around the big docks and submerged trees that top out in 30-35ft. of water. Best baits are jigging spoons and drop shots, but with the big Smallies movin up, I have left the deep fish alone for a while!
  16. Brett, CMAC is right, they are not biting as well as they were about a month ago, but there are still some whites to catch there. Had a guide trip on Friday and caught at least a dozen or so by 8 AM, after that it was over. The shad are in smaller groups and the whites are scattered around. We found them on Friday closer to the point at moonshine near the main lake.
  17. There is no lack of forage for the bass this year. There are still millions of shad just off the bank out to 40 ft. of water. We had a hard winter and it killed alot of shad, there are still plenty of them there! Heck I can even see the clouds of them on my X27C Joe, surely you can see them on your HDS 10. And the reason that the fish are biting so well and moving up on the beds is because the water temp shot up in a week. If you remember, last year about this time we were still catching them really good on stickbaits in mid 50 deg. water.
  18. I like that better than grass carp!
  19. Nice Don! You know that is gonna stick with me now, I can just hear it from you guys now! I hope Eric Prey hasn't read this post.
  20. Yes it is hard to catch fish in turn over water. We found it up in Cricket yesterday (along with the grass carp). Get outta that stuff and find the shad and you will find the fish! This should be a good spring, seems like there are a lot of fish in pre spawn mode and just waitin for a warming trend to bust loose. Cricket and Long Creek have so many white bass on the flats that they will black out your graph (Don posted some side imaging pics of them too). I have seen this done with shad before but never white bass.
  21. I will take you up on the Crappie trip Babs, but the grass carp is no guarantee!! LOL
  22. I'm with you Grey Bear, I bet MDC would like to know these are in Table Rock. Found it in the back of Cricket Creek swimming around on top like it was disoriented.
  23. The Crappie and just about everything else are starting to bite pretty good in Long Creek and Cricket Creek. Found some really nice Crappie today on a guide trip. They are on the channel swings, just on the drop in 15-18ft. of water. They were really holding tight to the bottom today, but should move up if the sun would ever come out! Caught numerous bass and 3 walleye in the same areas. The whites are stacked up and ready to move up when the water gets a little warmer. Should be a good spring for all species. Attached are a few photos from today, crappie, walleye, and can anyone guess what the other fish is? I've been fishing that end of Table Rock for close to 30 years and never seen anything like it!
  24. As Bill said, I had no takers on the stickbait the other day. After I talked to Bill, I decided to go after some deep fish, only to notice that my graph had shut off. Turned it back on and the volt meter read 8.7 volts and was going down. Luckily it still had enuff juice to get the big motor cranked up. Quick call to Pete Wenners, and I will be back in business this week. Thanks to Pete, Lane Schumaker, and the guys at Battery Outfitters!
  25. Amen to that Eric! I have been hearing of a few guys doing this myself. It is hard enough for us that have went through the process of getting our license to get trips, but these guys are guiding for money and taking away potential clients for the rest of us that are legitimate.
