Northern Ray County is rocky, wooded, and hills. Along the Missouri River bottoms (southern) is crop land. In the middle can either be crop or livestock. It is about 30 minutes east of North Kansas City. Ray County is full of turkey & deer. Plenty of ducks & geeses during season. Quail population is about gone. Get into the northern part and you might find a rattle snake.

At the end of the day when the Reel is made, an American gets a pay check for building it.

A-MEN, I also try to buy American when I can.

Is this for groups of 2-3 people only or can it be just for one? I need a "Trout Fix" ASAP and it has to be in the next day or 2.

As I said once earlier, I am sorry that I posted under the wrong thread. No I am not shooting carp. Also I am not stocking up on ammo. It started when I wanted to go to the shooting range and heard this from a couple of gun shops and retail store about the ammo sales. I just wanted some thoughts. BTW, it is not the gun that kills people, but the person behind the gun. If guns where outlawed then it the crooks would still have theirs and you couldn't defend yourself or hunt game. Criminals would just walk in you house (knowing that your gun was taken away) and take what they want and you could do nothing about it. Maybe even get shoot. Why don't we say knifes kill people too, then we can outlaw them also. Now try and fillet a fish. Once again, I am sorry for the 3rd and last time for posting this in the wrong topic. I am not perfect and I am not a trouble maker. Just wanted some thoughts. FYI, I'll never post on this forum again. I thought everybody is welcome here even if your not perfect. It looks too me this forum is a click.

I just have to add this. My son and I will take the 22 rifles to the range just to see who will mow the yard next. Best shot sets in the lawn chair watching other mow. Sounds crazy doesn't it.

My mistake for putting this subject under the wrong location. Forgive me if you can. I am far from perfect. I can relocate it or just drop the subject.

IMO, I think we are safe with our gun rights, but I am concerned.

On the Missouri side, I know of 2 shops. T.Hargroves Fly Fishing Inc. and Feather Craft. Both are on Manchester about a mile apart. IMO. T. Hargroves is the best out of the 2 and there are a few Trout Bums that hang out there all the time. Just take I64 west to Brentwood Blvd. Go south on Brentwood to Manchester. Turn right for T. Hargroves and he will be on your left about a 1/4 of a mile. He usaully has a pontoon boat hanging outside. If you turn left on Manchester and go about 3/4 of a mile on your irght is Feather Craft. Both have websites.

I use the buzzer for my alarm to get up.

I just bought a brick of .223 Rem on Sunday at Cabelas and 2 boxes of 9mm. The 9mm was gone in 30 minutes when I went by the shelf.

Last weekend I went to my local gun shop to purchase some ammo so we can go to the range this weekend. They were out and what they have was only being sold if you make a firearm purchase. The next day I went to Bass Pro in Independence, Mo and they were sold out of 9mm ammo. I then went to Cabelas and found some 9mm and picked up 2 boxes. Before I left, I decided to pick-up a couple more boxes so I wouldn't have to drive so far next time. When I return to the shelf where I picked-up the first 2, they were out. I ask if they had anymore and was told NO unless I wanted some high dollar 9mm. The saleman said that people are getting worried about gun control. So what is everybodies thoughts? I not wanting to stir-up anything, but I can see that this topic can go south quickly and that is not my plan. Just want a simple discussion.

Sounds like fun until you are ready to leave. Maybe taking a Labrador Retriever would be nice so he can drag you back-up.

"BUZZER FISH" I love it. Wouldn't be easier if they just put a water tank in the parking lot, fill it with trout, and everybody just stand around it and fish. It reminds me of the KC Sports Show when the have a tank for the kids to catch a trout. I stay in bed or watch the chaos from my truck.

I either get a chance to cast new lines at a flyshop or recommended by others. Once you have a same collection of lines, then you can swap them back and forth and see what works. Also, when a fly line company makes an improvement such as when Rio Selective Trout went to Rio Selective Trout II, you can purchase these older style cheaper.

My vote goes for either Rio Gold or Rio Selective Trout depending on what type of action your fly rod is.

A good 8' 6" or a 9' 5wt would be a great rod for trout in Missouri. The 9 footer will make mending the line easier. Also alot of people say that a 9 foot rod is easier to cast. An 8' 6" rod is alittle bit easier to cast in tight places. My suggestion is to go and cast a 5wt in both lengths and find out which one feels better to you. Remember that casting a rod in the parking lot is different than on water. Different fly lines will change the rods performance also. When it come to a fly line most people use a floating weight forward or double taper. Depending on how much your willing to spend on a rod, reel, and line. I would first put my money into the rod, then a good fly line, and then look at reels.
