  1. I knew that I would get someones attention. Show was attractive and wore waders and a ball cap. She knew how to operate a 9.9hp outboard and take a hammer and make adjustments on the cutter. Shoulds like a perfect lady, doesn't it?
  2. From the boat ramp at Bennett Springs access down to the island wasn't very impressive. I watch them run 200 feet up from the ramp and down to almost to the island. They made several passes and wasn't scooping that many fish up.
  3. Once again thank you. I will say, once you have fished the Smoky Mountains you get spoiled with the massive dry fly hatches.
  4. I agree, that would be our best hope. Not enough time for a fund raiser to assist the MDC.
  5. Wonder who would be best for the place?
  6. Thanks Brian, What is the dry fly action like? Also, what is the motel like in Alton? Thanks, TS
  7. Heading down too the Eleven Point towards the end of September. I haven't fished it for years and was wanting to know what weight and length of fly rods do you all suggest? I'll be fishing for trout and wading. Thank You in Advance, TS
  8. Back in the early 80's when I was a Boy Scout, my troop went down the Eleven Point when it was very high. It was a near death experience that took me over 10 years to get back in a canoe.
  9. Are you selling those nets or just teasing us? How much? Please PM me if you are selling them.
  10. Believe it or not, it was a Light Cahill and Renegades in sizes 14 and 16. They were not big fish, but they were fun to catch.
  11. I went down Thursday 8-14-08 thru 8-16-08 and used a Light Cahill & Renegades. Couldn't keep the trout of around 5:30 pm on both days. Blonde Mo Hair Leech was very affective in the morning also. Also went to the river and caught sevral little small mouth bass. TS
  12. It is sad to see A-B sold. I am not a beer drinking fool and have moved over the years to micro beers. A-B was a Missouri/American ICON like St. Louis and Kansas City BBQ. I hope the employees make out ok after everything settles. Best of Luck to the employees of A-B
  13. No Kidding!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Enforcement needs to happen. I have seen the wrong items used in each zone and more than limit on stringers.
  15. fisheye, your evil, but I like it.
  16. NoLuck, That was stated very well. When I was down at Bennett a few weeks ago, there was ton of room. I was fishing below the arch bridge in the riffles in zone 2. There was no one around and I was cast a dry upstream and was letting it drift along the bank. This angler that looked like he knew what he was doing walked right in front of me making cast. My first thought was to say something or cast at him. I elected to climb out of the water and put my rod up. Another time was free fishing day 2007 when 2 grown men from Kansas was fishing off of the rock dam in zone 1. A gentleman from St. Louis was kindly enough to let them know that there is a sign behind them that say's not to fish on the the dam or right above or below. The 2 men was wanting to fight the kind gentlman that was only trying to help them out. At that time I went to back up the very kind gentleman and at that point it was over. Anyway, I will stick to the off season of trout parks and the silver hatch on the rivers. It cost to much money in gas for a wasted trip to Bennett. Regards, TS
  17. I see that I am not the only one that notices this. I love the winter catch and release in the parks along with the early spring before May and fall after Labor day. There is plenty of casting room and choices to go to. I went to Tennesse in May to fish the Smoky's and got spoiled. No one around except my 2 buddies and some great fishing. I wonder what the future of the price of daily tags will be. At rising cost of everything, you would think the daily trout tag will go up.
  18. About half the time I go to Bennett, people walk right in front of me while I am fishing. Sometimes behind me when I am casting. Why don't people have respect for others? Am I doing something wrong? Regards, Trout Stalker
  19. I went once on free fishing day at Bennett Springs by mistake. Never again. I seen more rule breakers and mules than I ever want to fish around.
  20. I see the silver hatch is in full swing. That is why I fish the winter catch and release.
  21. I have stayed at Larry's Cedar Resort, Sand Springs, Vogals, and in the Park. Larry's condos are the best. But if you want to spend a few extra, take a look at Riverwood. Very nice place.
  22. Great report. Sorry to hear about the flat tire. To bad it wasn't a Fat Tire Ale. TS
  23. It is not the type of rod that is used in zone 3, but the correct choice of bait. I look at it like this. If a spin caster can crowd me in Zone 1 will I am fly fishing, then I can go to Zone 3 and fish rubber trout worms with my fly rod. Just my 2 cents. TS
  24. I got to see openning day for the 3rd time in my life. I don't fish this time, just watched everybody get tangled with each other. I just can't find any joy fishing elbow to elbow. TS
  25. jjtroutbum, I have thought about using the rubber salmon eggs or rubber trout worms stuck on a hook in zone 3 in those riffles. TS
