  1. Ouch! Well, all I will say is.....Have a nice day at work tomorrow. I'm going duck hunting on Table Rock Lake, then maybe some fishing. You can read about the report on Ozark Anglers "Table Rock" forum.
  2. Congrats on your very 1st duck of many more to come! Now whats for dinner........Duck Poppers???????
  3. I believe the forum labeled "Table Rock Lake" is designed to discuss the happenings of a particular location. Now, if I just wanted to discuss duck hunting in general, I might just post something under the "Migratory Bird" forum. I have read no rules or regulations that cover the specific topics that are only to be discussed under the "Table Rock Lake" forum, so I have chose to post my report about Table Rock Lake under the "Table Rock Lake" forum and will continue to do so untill paid by others not to. Table Rock Lake is an over looked oportunity for many out there who might be interested in duck hunting for a couple of reasons. One is that it is not managed under the draw system where you have to wait in a line and draw a pill to see if you get to hunt that day. You just find a spot that is legal to hunt and go do it. Another reason is that it is located in the Southern Zone of Missouri's migratory bird zoning areas. This means people who would normally hunt in the North Zone can come down to Table Rock Lake and hunt the South Zone for all most a full month after the North Zone season has closed. This is huge, adding 26 more days to thier hunting season. One more reason....If you live in the South Zone, there are no managed migratory bird hunting areas located in the South Zone. The closest one is Four Rivers, about 2 hours from Springfield. This opens the door to residents of the South Zone letting them know that they have productive duck hunting right in thier very own back yard and they do not have to travel half way across the state for a chance at some productive migratory bird hunting..... With all that, I do believe my report was posted in the right location and future reports will continue to be posted there. Now, if anyone else has anything to post about the out doors and it has to do with Table Rock Lake.....I think they should post it in the "Table Rock Lake" forum.
  4. Welcome back! We've been missing you around here.
  5. You have aparently been stuck in the house out of fear of dealing with the cold weather we've been having and have nothing better to do but un-wad your panties. Get out of the house Nancy Boy and post your fishing report
  6. The heading clearly states what it is about and it is in the Table Rock Forum, so If You Dont Like It.......Dont Read It!
  7. Did not think I would do any good out there today with absolutely no cloud cover, but I was wrong. Lots of gadwalls flying early and still a few mallards around. Geese did come by 3 different times but stayed just out of shooting range. Had a couple of golden eye come right in out of the sun so I did not see them till it was too late. Ended up with 4 gadwalls. Been eating duck poppers just about every day for over a week now. Keep em comin!
  8. scud hooks in size 12 to 20 3x long streamer hooks in 6 to 10 These usually cover just about everything I tie for Taney.
  9. I've got a 17 year old young man looking forward to going with me next weekend and possibly bobby b. the following weekend, but any other time during the week just give me a holler. The next time I'm going will be Monday morning and should be every day till the end of the season.
  10. Close to where you live......Listen for the gun shots If you want to go next week give me a holler and I'll take you.
  11. Welcome to the forum Brother Dave! Now lets go kill some more ducks!
  12. We both got 1 mallard drake and 5 gadwalls each.
  13. I love eating duck poppers. I take the breast and fillet it in half then marinate it over night in a mix of 1 can Mountain Dew, 1/2 bottle soy sauce, and 1/2 bottle worcestershire sauce. Take the fillets and wrap them around 1/2 stick of string cheese and a sliver of jalapeno pepper. Take the whole thing and wrap in 1/2 strip of bacon, then peg with toothpick. Cook on very hot grill just till the cheese starts to melt and some of the bacon is crisped. Do Not Over Cook! I do the goose breasts the same way. Every thing else, I grind up and mix 50/50 with pork sausage to make a great breakfast sausage. DD'sMC and I eat poppers at least once a week, sometimes 3 or 4 times a week. Her kids love them and will gorge themselves on them.
  14. Im not duckdoty, Im his brother "brother dave" I live in foley. welcome to a great place for info and friendly people. Busch was stocked yesterday according to the hotline. Hope the ice is thick enough!
  15. We both got our limits by 10 a.m. Lots of ducks flying today. Needed more people in the blind cuz lots of them didnt even get shot at. Got buzzed by 14 geese that were just outside of shooting range. It was exciting for a minute!
  16. I hunt from a brush blind set up just in the water anywhere from knee to ankle deep. Decoy lines are up to 10 feet long and have to use the canoe to pick up the ones that are out in deeper water. The ducks really like to land close to shore and then head straight to the shore so the deeks dont have to be out too far.
  17. How much?
  18. One gadwall was a hen and yes the golden eye are divers Your pretty good!
  19. Welcome to the forum. Nice website!
  20. You just have to find a place they like to be. There are lots of coves and points around me but only a few of them attract ducks and geese. I dont know much about the rest of the lake and what it holds.
  21. 2 green heads, 1 suzy, 2 gadwalls, one golden eye. It was good meeting you also. Looking forward to seeing you on the river again
  22. I hunt right on the lake next to a large plot of Corps land outside of any city limits. There is Corps land all the way around the lake but if it is with in city limits of a city that does not allow hunting then you can not hunt there. Kimberling City is an example of that. You have to find a place that the ducks and geese want to be. They keep returning just about every day. Bluff areas are usually not good. Grassy gradual slopes to the water with the protection from the wind are working best for me.
  23. I was not out fishing this morning but I was out on Table Rock Lake. I was beautiful with all the snow coming down. Did see a few fish jumping out of the water here and there. I think they were carp. Managed to get a limit of ducks by 9 a.m. Duck hunting on Table Rock was awesome this morning!
