  1. Good luck to you out there today. Still have yet to catch my first fish on the A-rig. Get too busy chasing the crappie to throw it.
  2. See ya out there. Be there in about an hour and a half.
  3. Im fixin to. No amount of beauty sleep is gonna help me. To late for that. I'll send you some pictures tomorrow while were fishing…...
  4. Only got in 1/2 day of fishing with Brother Dave and another buddy today. We started about 1:30 in the afternoon and fished till dark. It was windy, warm, and we had a lot of fun. It was tuff to get on the bottom today with the wind and stay in the depth of water we wanted to be. After making a few drifts with the wind we finally came up with a productive way to catch. We ended up putting a 1/4 oz weight on the end of our line and then 2, 1/16th oz jigs spaced about 18 inches apart and 18 inches above the 1/4 oz weight. This would keep us on the bottom with the high speed drifts we were getting in the wind and as long as I could keep the boat in 20 feet of water, we were catching fish. Again, lots of shorts today, but we did end up putting 19 keepers in the live well. We also got into some really nice whites almost across and just down from point 15 right before dark. Might have to go play with them again tomorrow. Today was by far the best action we've had out there in the last few days. The shorts kept us busy all afternoon. Fish catcher today was crappie magnets in the killer krill? (i think that is the name of the color) and blue thunder swimming minnows. Brother Dave showing off some of his catch today The bucket over-flowith a couple of the big whites
  5. Im going again tomorrow. I'll be in a tracker 185 sport jet. Pull up and say hey if you see me.
  6. In a tracker 185 sport jet,yes.
  7. Just down and across the lake from pt 15. There is a green brush pile sign right there in the corner. No crappie on that brush yet, but in 20 feet of water out in front of it and on to Stones flat was a bunch of them and the monster whites. There you go. You have one of my spots. ;-)
  8. Been posting reports all weekend and will post another in a couple hours after my brother and I get all these crappie and giant whites cleaned
  9. Caught some big whites in the James River Arm today. Peach Orchard to point 15 in 16 to 20 feet of water in front of a wind blown flat.
  10. You are probably not picking up the fish that are there. Mine is an old one too. 2001 model and very rarely does it identify a fish. I'm just using it as a depth gauge and using my jigs as the fish finders. They are out there. Just spend a little more time on the water and you will start getting them.
  11. Hope you find someone that can accommodate you and your dads needs. Cant wait for the chance to go fishing with my dad again. He just got out of the hospital and is recovering from 2 heart attacks, one by-pass, one stint, a new valve, and a tire plug put in a hole they found in his heart. Gonna be 3-4 months before he can get out and fish again.
  12. Welcome back to the Ozarks and welcome to the forum. Bunch of good fellas on here for sure. I do admire what you have listed as your interests.
  13. That is one heck of a good price!
  14. It should start happening this week over there. Started getting into some nice whites on the James River Arm yesterday.
  15. Welcome to the forum.
  16. Yes. They all came off the bottom.
  17. Yeah, my electronics are not that great either. Just use it to know the depth Im fishing. Once I catch a couple of fish at a certain depth, I just concentrate on that depth only. Welcome to the forum!
  18. Brother Dave came down this morning to get in on the crappie action. He was not disappointed! We had a great time fishing the Flat Creek and Point 15 area. We ended up keeping 16 really nice crappie and 6 whites today. Again, we caught several short crappie that were just under 10 inches. They will be keepers next year. Most fish were caught drifting through 20 feet of water on Crappie Magnets today. We did get into one brush pile in 16 feet of water and picked up 6 keepers off of it. I got to work in the morning tomorrow, but will be back on the water after lunch chasing them again. Quite a few boats out there today. Its just going to keep getting better over the next week out there.
  19. Made my mouth water
  20. Thanks Marty. How was the seminar?
  21. welcome to the forum.
  22. Welcome to the forum bigdave!
  23. Hope to see you out there. Might be crowded tomorrow, but not as crowded as the 15th will be.
  24. Headed up Flat Creek again this morning and caught lots of shorts again. Only boated 3 keepers in a couple of hours. Caught them in 20 feet of water dragging tandem 1/16 oz Bobby Garland jigs in thread fin shad color. Headed out to the James River arm where a buddy had caught a couple and spent the rest of the day out there. Had a buddy jump in the boat with me after lunch and we ended up putting 14 keepers in the live well before we got froze out. Almost enough to fill a bucket. All those fish came on a large flat in 18 feet of water. Several shorts caught out there too. Gonna go looking for them again tomorrow.
