  1. Brother Dave dropped a goose at 60 yards today. Awesome!
  2. We saw fewer ducks today, but enough to keep us very well entertained. Hope the snow stays on the ground all night. Time to pull out the Tyvek suits!
  3. Found some birds on Lower Taney Today. Got to hunt with my brother and a couple of buddies. Looking forward to hitting it again in the morning. Way better than the Rock has been treating us.
  4. Nice bag of ducks Scott. Looks like we are finally in some birds.
  5. Well, the pill box on Comb's Ferry was a bust again today. Only stuck with it till about 8:00 a.m. Cruised the lake a little bit and did see about 2 dozen mallards around Show Me Ball Camp area. Pulled the boat out and headed to lower Taney to scout it out. Drove the gauntlet between Rockaway and Forsythe and saw good numbers of gadwall. Took to boat back to Rockaway and launched around 10:30 a.m. Headed up to Bull Creek area and found a few birds up there too. Set the decoys out for about an hour and managed to pick up two mallards. Wind was not quite right for where I was at so picked every thing up and headed out. Looking forward to tomorrows hunt. Looks promising!
  6. We went back out this morning. Ended up with 3 green wings and 2 gaddies. Did see a few more big ducks out there today flying over. I don't know if they were new ducks or just ones iced out of local ponds, but did see a few more ducks than usual today. Gonna hunt they pill box out on the main lake of the Rock in the morning and see what happens. Might end up heading to Stockton or Truman by the afternoon.
  7. Welcome to the forum and thank you for your service!
  8. Found a little honey hole on the Rock today. Me and a buddy ended up with 7 green wings. Not bad for what the Rock has been showing us lately. And yes, we were laying in a mud hole all morning. Messy, but worth it
  9. They sure did not come to the Rock. Kept going south to find some food I guess?
  10. Hunted the Rock this morning. Saw 11 golden eye. None close enough to shoot. Checked from Coney Island to the Dam and back in every cove for signs of geese and ducks and saw none
  11. Beaver Creek is a good place. Upper Bull Shoals, Swan Creek, and the James River are great places too. Do a search on the Forum for white bass and you'll get alot of good info.
  12. All day on New Years Day for fishing. Gathering and social time is around noon at the pavilion below the hatchery
  13. And I've caught them in Beaver Creek during winter months. Dont forget Crane Creek and Roaring River
  14. Turkey Creek and Roark Creek
  15. Hunted up north west of Mt. Vernon this morning. It was blizzard like for a while and pretty cold out there. Worked quite a few birds till around 9 a.m. and then it just shut down. I think these were stale birds because the would spend what seemed like forever just hovering in the wind looking at our spread, spin off and then come back in for another look again and again. We ended up busting 3 green heads, 2 green wings, and one Christmas Goose. Hope some of them birds up north get cold and decide to move on down tonight and tomorrow.
  16. I had one lone golden eye try to breach the secure area within range of the pill box this morning. I held the beach at all cost. Poor thing did not stand a chance.
  17. The rock pill box will be under 10 feet of water at normal pool
  18. It's pretty hard to get all them deer tied up together so some one can hide in them. Still working on it
  19. Glad your getting some more birds Marty. Take advantage of them then send the left overs on down to Scott and I
  20. yep
