  2. Was hoping to pick up a used one, but might go with the lss-2. I have no idea on the BW settings, care to inform me.
  3. . I'll pass. Thanks though.
  4. Thanks . Posted on there a bit earlier.
  5. I ended up going with a hds 8 gen 1. If anyone know of a first generation structure scan for sale, please let me know. I have cash and can pickup ASAP. Back to the reading of the manual.............. Thanks in advance.
  6. thanks! i'm pumped, hopefully it will be an improvement over my fishmark 320. i'll have to check that video out. one can only read the manual for so long.
  7. thanks! i talked to the guys up at mobile marine and was informed that lowrance just came out with a map that is supposed to be alot like the navionics. have you heard about this?
  8. it is a gen 2 and no, i didn't buy the lss2 just yet. i have to squirrel away more funds. it is not going on a fast boat, its going on my duck/fishing boat. off to read the manual!
  9. i ordered an hds 8 yesterday. can anyone recommend any reading or video's that will help me get to know my unit? it should be here next tuesday. fyi..... a certain store that is in rogers has them online for $1249. my other question is what map card should i get? thanks in advance!
  10. gotcha. thanks!
  11. Are the Smithwick rogues decent? I bought a retired bass fishermans gear and have about 30 of them. Haven't fishes with them, I am going to give them a shot tomorrow. He even had the ones with the two weights on the lip. Any idea on the depth these go to?
  12. Gotcha. Looks like I am going to have to get a couple. Any specific ones? I been reading about the ethos (. I think they are blue).
  13. are there spinning rods any good?
  14. glad you had a good fishing/spiritual day.
  15. ha ha. let me know how you like the down scan. i'll have to check out the H20 rods. i only have one g loomis and it's because i bought a retired bass fishermans gear and he said i'll throw it in for 25 bucks. i have yet to use it though.
  16. wish i could have been there. did you see anything that you couldn't live without.
  17. gotcha! i actually just want one bracket that will slide in the versa track rail from front to back. i wish i could have got over to tulsa today, but i was supposed to take a buddy fishing. seeing as how i fished alone and caught one white bass, tulsa would have probably been a better choice.
  18. wow! if you ever get bored catching all those fish, feel free to come down to the blue springs area. we could have shared my 1 white bass today.
  19. Been thinking alot about this. My boat is a tracker grizzly with a yamaha 25 hp tiller handle and trolling motor up front. I have a fishmark eagle 320 fishfinder in the the back for depth. My thought is this, please CORRECT me if this is not an intelligent thing to do. The side of my boat has the versa track mounting system. My brilliant idea is to have the fishfinder on some sort of ram mount (that attaches to the versa track system) that i can move from the front (deck area/when i am trolling) , to the back (when i am operating the yamaha). Lowrance has a switch where i toggle between a front (trolling motor) and back transducer. Has anyone ran two transducer off one unit? Thanks in advance..... i have in laws in town and this is where my brain goes.
  20. gotcha! i think i might stick with the lead core line that F and F talked about. guess i'll have to check out indian creek too.
  21. well, i'm most comfortable at lake fayetteville! i'm getting a little tired of there though. looks like i will be trolling around hickory creek. thanks for the insight.
  22. Going out tomorrow. Should I start at hickory creek or rocky branch? Hickory creek is closer, but would make the drive to rock branch if its been fishing better.
  23. Glad I asked. Didn't even know there was"lead core line". Just read up on it, neat stuff. Yet another thing to purchase:).
  24. So I can get a really good deal on a Scotty Electric downrigger. Of course I want it, but will I be able to use it on beaver for stripers? I understand the concept of them, but do any of you guys have them and use them with success?
  25. i have never tried them. jigs, minnows & cranks for crappie here. please update us after you use them.
