  1. 2 buddies and I Floated from Bennet to Prosperine. Caught a mix of about 13 rainbows and browns on lures, 1 smallmouth and 1 goggle eye on plastics. Fishing was tough, didn’t see a whole lot of fish swimming. Seen some dead largemouth at NRO hole that had been gigged…
  2. Roger: Nice Job!
  3. Try fishing in the pools right below the riffles and rapids anytime of the day. 2-4 inch natural color tubes(gitzits) green pumpkin, copper, etc when the sun is high in the sky and concentrate more this time of year in the evenings with rapala minnows or spinner baits. thats a good start theres so many techniques that can work. If u need more help u can e-mail me at hookem777@yahoo.com I'll help anyway i can. Darrell

  5. Yes spinnerbaits were working before riffles and in the riffle. Plastic shads were working, gitzits, and grubs.
  6. My buddy caught this one a week or so ago bass fishing in Lindly creek arm, up in the sticks on a jig and pig, he said it was like 4 ft long.
  7. Thx she was a nice fish, i lost one that bent my hook out straight and my drag was set, but thats the way it goes. Yeah it was up some, I'm not sure how much.
  8. Floated from Mason to Ross april 15, & 16. Caught some nice Bronzebacks & goggle-eyes. I caught two that were 18 inches felt like they weighed between 3 1/2 to 4 pds. My two buddys caught some nice 15-17 inch smallies, and some 4 pd spotted bass in the oxbows.
  9. Yeah we've been on the niangua several times this year and the trout hit those jerkbaits since January. Those brown trout are hunters and they tear up jerk baits, big one 6 inch smithwicks. I would say my buddy and I have caught 30- 40 browns this year. I kept the rainbows and threw back all the Bass & browns even the keeper. The smallie's were caught on a spinnerbait and F-7 rapala. The smallies are just slow in that cold spring water i've caught most of mine this year on gitzits around barclay. Early March we caught several nice big mouth around NRO on jerkbaits and jigs. I almost threw a jig and pig in the deep holes on sunday....
  10. Floated from Bennet to Barclay, Smallies were slow, trout were biting jerkbaits good caught a limit of rainbows easy and a bunch of brown trout only one brown was a keeper around 16 inches.
  11. Well, we started fri 3 p.m. fished till 7 in the evening, started sat around 8 and floated till 6 in the evening and we was only a mile or so from galena when we camped. We fished real slow but when we paddled the river was moving out id say around 15 to 17 hrs total on the river!
  12. The smallies were hitting tubes, 5/16 jigs with craw chunk, and swimming smoke grubs. Also note that on this trip 100 % flurocarbon dominated co-polmer lines. The first day it didnt seem to make a difference but on Saturday the bass were either seeing the co-polmer or the flurocarbon was working the bait different. I'm not a big fan of vanish but i did'nt catch a bass till i switched!
  13. Fished from hooten town to galena my buddy caught several nice goggle eye and black bass.
