  1. Way cool and creative. Those Wise boys are lucky boys.
  2. Well, I'd actually never heard of Davy's white tail midge or Clint's Sunday special. After googling them, I can see why they would be good patterns. What size on the Sunday special and EHC would you recommend?
  3. I fished my Banty Brim Reaper at a local pond on Saturday. I caught 2 Bass and some big Bluegill and hybrids. I only had about an hour to fish, so I didn't get a chance to use the other Pond flies.
  4. I'm taking a trip to the Mountain Home area 5/29 thru 5/31 to do some fly fishing in the White river and Norfork river. We will be wade fishing where ever we can find wade-able water. I'm looking for recommendations on what flies I should tie for this trip.
  5. Yes! I will be there. We are all looking forward to your talk.
  6. I just saw this on the Allen Fly Fishing website: http://www.allenflyfishing.com/pro-staff-brian-wise/ Congratulations, Brian! I also saw where Brian was going to be speaking at my local chapter #420 of Trout Unlimited in May. It's good to see the guides on our forum getting recognition. Thank you to Brian and all of the other guides that share their knowledge on this forum and others. Phil Curtis
  7. Wrench, it all depends on how you gear it for the climbs. However, you definitely have more leverage pushing on the pedals with your back braced in the recumbent seat. The trike is designed for speed and doesn't have the clearance for off-road. Gravel road is OK but if that is all you are going to ride, you probably want to go with different tires or with a different trike. The Atomic Zombie website has lots of plans. The StreetFox plans might be more what you are looking for if you have the need for off-road. Here is the Street Fox
  8. Mic, I gave up that style of bike for a Warrior Trike that I am building. The plans are from the Atomic Zombie website. Trikes like this are $2500 and up, but, you can build your own for a lot less money.
  9. My flies arrived yesterday. Wow! Great job guys. Thanks for hosting, Mic!
  10. FlySmallie, That was a killer looking frog. I would definitely like to see a SBS on that. Mic, I think that we all tied enough flies for FS to get his set.
  11. Nice! I'm taking my Daughter tomorrow. It'll be her first trip with waders and a fly rod. It should be a blast!
  12. I'm glad that you sold your water crafts. I was fixin' to have to get in trouble with the missus.
  13. Here is an interesting article regarding diddymo. http://midcurrent.com/2014/03/05/new-research-suggests-humans-may-not-be-responsible-for-didymo-outbreaks/
  14. I use BBQ sauce instead of the Tomato Sauce / Ketchup.
  15. Ness, That's a great idea! Where did you come up with that??
  16. I had the same thing happen. Shad Kill and couldn't buy a bite on anything white. I switched to the #18 Gray midge with Copper Tungsten bead and Copper rib and caught fish on every cast. I think that they gorge themselves on the shad and like to snack on the midges.
  17. That's just because nobody else wants to work as hard at it as Bill Cosby did.
  18. Here are the trout files. - Copper Dun Midge #18 Hook - #18 Scud Hook Head - Copper Tungsten Bead (sized for hook) Body - Gray Dun Thread 6/0 Rib - Small Copper Wire Panfish Pond Flies. - This is a riff on Wilson's Brim Reaper. I call it the Banty Brim Reaper. Hook - #10 Nymph Hook Thread - Red 6/0 Eyes - Bead Chain Eyes Tail - Rubber Leg furled Body - Yellow chenille Head - Whitlock's Orange SLF Dubbing spun in a dubbing loop. Picked out and brushed back over the body. Mailed!
  19. Seems like this doesn't pass the "common sense" test, to me. We don't get enough game warden enforcement on the regs that are in place, now. Why would anyone think that a new regulation would get enforced. If it isn't going to be enforced, why waste the tax payer money creating, sponsoring and funding the new regulation? I do agree with the open season on the Herons.
  20. Changing my Pond fly from Predator to Wilson's Brim Reaper.
  21. Congrats, Mic! What kind of application development training will you be receiving?
  22. $1.7 Million dollars for 100 yards of Class II rapids? Sounds like about 5 seconds of fun......... I'm guessing some of that money filtered somewhere else besides into that project.
  23. Wei, you will probably have more luck fishing for stripers and black bass downriver around Gore Landing or just downriver from Marval. If you are after striper, in this river, try fishing just before daylight.
