  3. Pretty much the same story all summer. Fished 2 1/2 hours this morning, caught a boat load of crappie, had 9 keepers. The keepers were nothing to write home about, just 9.25". Used jigs, 1/8th oz, pink as well as chart. Fished trees and brush, fish were everywhere. Good luck this weekend - hope to see you at the tourney. Brad

  5. It was toasty! We survived the heat - the pleasure boats were the difficult part!

  8. Crappie Slayers Tournament Series Pomme De Terre Pittsburg State Park 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM $25 per person Weigh 7 Crappie Fishing Report - Here it is, my fully detailed, holding back no secrets, fishing report - yes, a few days before the tournament! Crappie fishing is some of the best I have ever seen. You can catch hundreds, yes, hundreds of crappie per day! Method, jig, color, etc......doesn't matter. Brush, trees, flats, shallow, deep, etc......doesn't matter. Only one small problem - it will take 25-30 shorts (although fat and sassy) per keeper. Come on out and join us for the tourney!!!!
  9. Yep - same report, a boat full of dinks to one keeper. Both arms of the lake. Brad
  10. It was like this in March, you could literally catch 200 crappie on a trip and be lucky to have 2-3 keepers. Normally I would have been aggravated about the situation, however the older I get the more I realize the fishing trip, nature, weather and friends make it enjoyable. I'm looking forward to this fall/winter for the fishing should be excellent.

However catching keepers or crappie of any size was difficult. At least the future is bright!

  13. Crappie Slayers Tournament scheduled for May 20th, 2017 will be canceled due to elevated water levels. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. We look forward to fishing again on June 17th. Thanks, Brad
  14. Pomme is 20' high and no doubt is going up. We have had a little over 2" this morning and by looking at the radar we are a ways from being finished. With that in mind, what is the record for the highest lake level? When did it happen? Are there predictions for the next few days? Thanks, Brad
  15. Before the rain hit I had the opportunity to take my dad and grandpa to Pomme. Grandpa took me crappie fishing from the time I was big enough to hold a pole (even when I wasn't big enough to hold a pole and donated a few for fish structure). I've never forgotten those trips - he is now 87 and his health is failing. Dad and I struggled to get him in and out of the boat but it was worth it. Not sure how many times we can go again, if any at all. If never again it was worth every minute for the memory - 37 in two hours.
  16. Thanks for the update. The weather man predicted from 3-7 inches of rain through the weekend! We should never complain about the moisture but wow!!! Coupled with what we got last week there could be some interesting days ahead for Pomme. Just hope we don't see another spring with 15-20' high water. Brad

  22. Not sure about that, however while crappie fishing on Saturday we caught several whites. I imagine if one were fishing for them they would do very well. Brad

  24. Still weigh 7 per boat. This year the entry fee is $25 per person, how ever many people you want in your boat. Our hope is to get more people involved as several people wanted to fish a third person. Hope to see you there! Brad
