Finally made it out on the water for some fishing. It was fantastic, far better than I thought it would be. Caught limits on both days, Friday it only took two hours. Water Temp - 85 Depth - 5-25 fow, 5-10' deep Bait - jigs, you know I only use jigs. - used both blue glow and chart glow (grubs and stixs) Pattern - trees, trees and more trees. On Friday the water was a little over three feet high, about that on Saturday. It was very difficult to find trees, only a few were sticking out of the water. We searched like hawks to find them, but when we did it was game on! We probably only fished 15-20 trees, that was all we could find! focused fishing on the edge of the channel. It should continue to get better as the lake comes down. The bite was best from 7-9 - they still hit after nine, however it slowed down tremendously. Good luck and go get 'em! Brad

Sorry for the delay. Somehow I was logged off the site, couldn't remember my password and it took four days and several attempts to reset it! Not sure if there was something up with the site or if I was just technically challenged, the later is an affirmative. We only allow two in the boat for the tourneys. Hope you can make the next one! That makes sense! Thanks, Brad

Thanks for the update! What is the projected lake level, with no additional water, on Aug 15th? Just doing some math in my head, if flow is cut to 50 it is going to take a long time to get to normal. Thanks, Brad

Bob is the best walleye fisherman on Stockton I know of. He is very knowledgeable of the lake and willing to help anybody. I personally have fished with Bob numerous times for walleye, crappie and bass. I highly recommend hiring Bob at least once, you will be glad you did. If you look at what it cost to go fishing, boat, gas (truck and boat), oil, equipment, etc... and consider the guides time and expertise, they are very reasonably priced. As a business owner, knowing what it cost to have employees, I think guides are way under paid. If you enjoy your trip, learn some tips to help you the rest of your life and have fun, please tip these guys! We all enjoy the info they provide and hope they continue doing it for a long time. At one time I was against hiring a guide, thought it was a waste of money and I could figure it out myself. However I have completely changed my mind on that, when I travel and fish a new lake for a few days I always hire a guide on day one. They are always helpful, informative and help me understand the lake. I have a tremendous amount of experience fishing and generally have great trips on the lakes in this area, yet I still try to learn more all the time. I have learned some very valuable tips from guides which I continue to use to this day. Some of the best guide trips I've ever had are ones where we didn't catch hardly anything, however I did learn a tremendous amount. When I hire a guide it is not to just catch a lot of fish, it is to learn the who, what, when, where, why and how of fishing that lake and that species. Take advantage of your time with a guide and learn how to fish, don't be afraid to ask questions. Ask them to show you how to rig your pole, tie knots, etc... it might mean slowing down and not doing as much fishing, but you will be glad you did. Sometimes reports appear to be bogus, such as there is no way a person could catch 111 walleye in a trip, etc... However that is no stretch, especially if they know what they are doing and the fishing is excellent. I've had numerous trips on Stockton where the walleye were doing well, catch 40-50 walleye in 4 hours or so, if we would have stayed longer we would have caught many, many more. Now please don't misunderstand, these are special days which don't happen all the time, but they do happen. I've been called all kinds of things about my crappie reports, there are days we go out and catch 30 keepers in an hour, it happens several times a year, especially when the fish are concentrated. We usually come home because we have our limits. However could catch more crappie than one could count if we kept fishing. There are, however, several trips a year when the bite is tough and it is difficult to catch only a handful of fish. We don't tend to post those reports very often, usually only the best trips we have. I typically go out 100+ times a year, some trips are too good to be true, most good, some bad and occasionally some very, very bad. It's fishing and fish are a wild animal, they respond different to weather conditions, pressure, etc... It is great to get out and enjoy the outdoors regardless of the results, just cherish the awesome trips, share info with your fellow fisherman, and enjoy life!!! Brad

Thanks for the info. Let's hope they let her roll at 3500 for as long as possible. Brad

My gauge showed 1.5 inches last night. I'm hopeful the ground absorbed most of it, at least there wasn't standing water everywhere this morning. Are there any projections about what last night's storm will do to the lake level? Brad

We are cancelling the Crappie Slayers Tournament for Saturday 7/18/15. Due to high water and temps and inaccessible facilities. As of now we are planning on having an extra tourney this fall, hopefully the lake will be somewhat reasonable by then! Thanks, Brad

Hoping the weather stabilizes and the lake is a constant - same draw of water every day. When conditions are the same for 3 days in the row the fish settle in and start to bite. It seems that things have just been up and down and very inconsistent for a number of weeks. Oh well, better not curse the rain and wet conditions for we might be in a drought tomorrow! Although I'm getting tired of mowing my lawn twice a week, and still not staying on top of it!

Now much going on for the board. Suppose 20+ feet of water over normal pool will do that. I myself haven't been much lately, too much work - need to get back to the serious things in life, like catching crappie! Is there a projection for when the lake will be normal pool again? Brad
-
I have poured 6.05 inches out of my rain gauge this morning. It's wet in Buffalo!

Thanks for the updates!

How long will they pull water at that volume? Hoping for a while, would like to start fishing the trees! Brad

Due to the weather, rising lake levels, with rain forecast all over the place today and tomorrow, we will cancel the Crappie Slayers Tournament for June 20th. We wish to play it better safe than sorry. Would hate for someone to run over floating debris or have any other issues. Sorry for the inconvenience and hope to see everyone next month. Brad

Color - clear, very, very clear - unless you head way up either arm. Lake is about 3' high.

Pay at ramp, no meeting, just a bunch of good ol' heckling at the ramp before launch! Brad
-
It's great! The bite is very good, shallow and deep, just move around until you find them. Brad
