  9. Last week the upper ends of both arms had already started to get solid. Anyone have info on the main lake toward the dam? It's been a tough cold few days, hoping to get on the water this weekend with warmer temps, if it is even possible! Brad
  10. It's been way tooooo long - between out of town trips, a nasty virus, catching up on work and deer season it's been tough making it to the water. Went yesterday and had a great trip. Started real slow - fished main lake brush piles, graph showed fish everywhere but could only get two nice slabs in the live well. Gave up on piles after a couple of hours and started searching the channel edges, when we found shad we found crappie and lots of them. There would be 300-500 yard stretches with a blank graph and then boom!!!! It was loaded. Would catch several real quick and then had to move to stay on them. We ended up with two nice limits but had to go through the dinks to get them. At one point I had 10 shorts between keepers!!! I guess it looks promising for the future. Water temp 35 degrees Jigs - 1/8th oz vertical Color - chart, blue, pink Depth - 25-35 fow just off bottom. Hope to get out again soon! Brad
  11. Thanks! I'm hoping to get out before the week is over. Brad

  13. Would like to know as well - plan on trying this week with the nice weather. Looks it is going to get bad again next weekend. Brad
  14. Been chasing Mr Bighorns for the last three weeks. Will be headed to Pomme tomorrow. Here's the typical winter pattern, which they are in: Fish channel edges 15'-30' of water just off the bottom. The edge of the channel around bends, bluffs or the ends of bluffs are good. Although no structure is needed for this kind of fishing (shad in the channel will hold them there), a few logs, rocks or brush will help congregate the fish. Your other option is to focus on brush piles in 15'-25' of water, typically they are suspended around the brush. Good luck and give us a report! Brad

  22. A big thanks to the corp for bring the water down - I can see a lot of trees and they have hungry, hungry crappie hanging around them! Had my limit in an hour this morning - mostly 10" whites. All the bigs eluded me, however had fun none the less. My buddy finished his limit in two hours. Used jigs - chart, blue, pink, white, blue steel - color didn't matter. However a triple ripple grub out performed other jig styles. Fished trees from 2' of water to 30' of water. Brad
