Persimmons are a great bait. We used to have a resort on Table Rock, and my job was to run the trot lines for the fish fry we had every Saturday night. I had a bunch of catfish with hard full bellies, when I opened them up to check what they had been feeding on they were full of persimmon seeds. I save a couple of coffee cans every fall and freeze them for bait for a later date. So yes, persimmons are a great catfish bait. You might have to wrap them in some old nylons to keep them from throwing off the hook though.

Dirtracer, I applaud you for taking some fish to your grandmother, I would do the same for mine if they were still living. A big thumbs up to you on Mother's Day weekend.

I use the mailing labels that Ducks Unlimited, Pheasnts Forever, groups like that mail to you wanting you to join. I just put them on my rods and cover them with clear packing tape to keep moisture from destroying them. Or I have used a label maker to put my name and conservation number on.

Screw that, having another license fee to pay. Everytime the government gets their hands on something, they proceed to mess it up. The seat belt law was not for our safety, it was so the state qualifies for the Federal monies. All young people are supposed to take the test now to drive a watercraft.
