the only fish I keep are the ones that taste good. I have never eaten a bass that was worth keeping and I have tried a few times. I treat bass the same way most people treat carp. throw that worthless sucker back and hope to catch a eye, crappie or nice fat catfish. When I can find some bull gills I will camp on them. making my self hungry, got to get my gear ready!!s -
I assume that you have the boat going upstream with this slow down method. What do you do when you have to go downstream? run or drift with a sack out back? thanks lonnie

What happened to the walleye fishing this year?This time last year the fishing was really hot. This year I don't see any good reports. Has the weather had that much effect on them?

I have been off the net for awhile, so I don't know what a Ned is or a spy bait. Would someonw please educate me. My brother came down and we didn't have much luck. Wrong baits, huh!

Everybody put their boats away or getting ready for deer season? I havent seen any comments about this area for quite awhile. Haven't been fishing myself. Unkle Aruther and his brother Itis have moved in. Hope the Dr. will figure something out soon. Good luck to all.

looks like the fall draw down is under way. They have been holding around 660 all summer and now the water level is 659 and dropping. Hope this dosn't turn the fish off any more than they all ready are. lol

where is the thermocline? My cheapo fish finder can't find it. Have any of you tried Rapala snap jigs? I think i am going to try them. love this cool weather.

Is the lake starting to turn over or is there still a strong thermocline? If there is one still there how deep is it? My cheapo fish finder won't give me that special line. Still hoping for Santa to show up. LOL

Short Report After A Long Day On The Upper End

I am surprise that the fishing is so poor. After all the new habitat that was put in that lake, I thought it would improve the fishing. I wish they would put a bunch of rock piles and reefs in Bull Shoals. Just about all species like rocks out deep in the summer. Just look up north in those natural lakes. They fish the rocks hard. Wood is great but it moves and rots a lot. -
Are the walleye or crappie doing any thing down there? Haven't seen any new reports so was wondering. The dropping water slow them down or just the heat? thanks lonkm

Why are there no fish attractors in this lake? I just checked the MDC site and there isn't any thing there for this lake. What do the fish do, just roam around?

Where are some blue gill hot spots? I don't know this lake and my wife wants to catch some gills. Will they be very deep with the water temps what they are? Thanks
