  1. so you dont have the time to ask permission? If you did you would have a safe place to park, access to miles of creek owned by me and my more hard assed neighbors, and maybe a new friend. You think we are cutting off a natural resource ,we are protecting our property and families .I want to know who is on my property at all times.Good or bad .If you spend any time around Mc Donald Co you would know why.The trouble is the scumbags that leave trash, fish illegally and dont respect my property.I cant catch them all.I have to assume that whoever is doing this hasnt come to my door and met me in person. If you are on my land illegally that I worked my butt off to buy and maintain and you start to lecture me about the law,I can introduce you to my attorney and you two can sort it out.Maybe as you grow older you will understand my position on this matter.Look back through the archives,I have extended an open invitation to anybody on this forum to PM me for granted access to the creek. If we all were responsible citizens there never is a problem, ever, like the old days.I still have a rope swing and the local kids love it,ask them where I live.
  2. largemouth in the submerged brush.White River area above Eagle Rock.Texas rigged (pegged)black trick worm.
  3. Deliverance was in Georgia. Ozark trout fisher.Go to the bank and get a loan and buy some land on a stream and you will soon find out what the other landowners are speaking of.If you are on my section of the creek without permission you will be asked to leave .If you dont you can be sure that your fishing experience will not be an enjoyable one.Landowners want people to respect their property and asking permission is the best way to demonstrate the respect you will show.As I have said before I have meet several good people that have knocked on my door(two of my best employees)I have run off many smart asses who think they know everything.Which one are you?
  4. Danny ,here are two shots from my 997. the first is interference from my motor when I trimmed it up a little. The second is the bubble trail left by my outboard .This bubble trail lasts longer than you would think,I was idling parallel to the Rt 13 bridge. The sunken bridge is closer to the north shore and I idled all the way to the south shore and back, the bubble trail is still visible. I hope this helps.
  5. can you post a screenshot from your unit?
  6. It was taken at 7:17 with a Canon Rebel T1i
  7. Wed afternoon near Holiday Island.
  8. most guys dont fish very shallow this time of year, and it is true that you will probably catch more fish out deep but for sure there are quality fish shallow still. We fished the White near the AR line Wed.afternoon and caught several fish out of the brush.I was flippin a black trick worm texas style. There doesnt seem to be any fish way back in coves. Look for wood in the water near brush that is still green preferably on the shady side of the lake in what I like to call pockets (not really a cove)near deeper water. Get a spinner out and toss it in there ,if you see minnows jumping to get out of the way you can bet bass are not far off. They probably wont hit the blade but it is a good indicator if there is forage there or not.Get a map that shows the main channel and look for gravel flats that are near a channel swing(The areas that the channel moves to one side of the lake to the other)Table Rock still has a river flowing down there and the main channel swings are good places to start lake wide. Most of the swings will have the transitions from pea gravel to chunk rock to bluffs. There is no shortage of structure here, you just have to narrow it down a bit. When the water is this warm ,I like to downsize and fish slow ,real slow, then slowdown some more.We both caught a limit, even with the boat wakes pounding us.here is a pic of an average brush dweller.Good luck out there and stay safe, there are a lot of knuckleheads out there this time of year.
  9. will they make him take a lie detector test?
  10. nice product,$400 bucks seems a little steep .
  11. @#$&*$#@#$$%^$##@##$ freakin frackin greedy bastards, same people believe in clean coal.Fight them, sic the Sierra Club on em.
  12. check my post on conservation issues" New laws may devastate..."I own a large chunk of land over here on big sugar, and I deal with this all the time.PM me and I can grant access.
  13. outside bend,a state right of way is not for the public to use .It is for the state to use for maintenance and repair. Most of the time a right of way is on private property.
  14. Great job Mst.It proves that the fish dont care what your boat looks like. You have a bright future ahead of you.Keep working hard and the American dream will come true for you. When I was a young man[sigh]I used to haul a canoe everywhere I went, caught a ton of fish out of that old rig.I never thought I would ever be able to afford a bass boat. Many of us started just like you, thats why you will receive my greatest respect.Goodluck and be safe out there.
  15. there is a good public use area in Big Bay near Campbell point, caught a lot of good ones in there.
  16. nice.... thanks for the info ,love to yank em outa the brush.
  17. Gilly I feel your pain, check the "new laws" thread. I wonder if the guilty were trespassing?
  18. Eric1978 all the people that are landowners in this area are good people, the kind you would enjoy visiting with at a cookout. All of us in this area feel the same way.Permission is always granted to those who ask,by all of us.If I grant access you also have permission to be on their places This gives you several miles of creek to wade.Give it a try,you might be surprised. When I get home from a long day I dont think I should have to ask someone to vacate my table on my land so I can have a cold one and throw some sticks to my dogs. I dont think I should have to stay inside because some punks have a mean dog.Trust me the cops know about this place plenty.Several beatings, drug use and sex crimes have happened here before my time.Im not saying that firing my gun was the smartest thing I have ever done ,but it sure wasnt the dumbest either.I will not be intimidated by a bunch of losers. They never called the cops on me,I suspect all the ATVs were stolen. The local drug heads dont come around anymore and we havent had anything stolen since. My neighbors commend me for it.Unless you live out here, you dont know what its like, the meth head types think the police are a joke.Sometimes I have considered selling this place because of all the hassles, but the creek is awesome,I love it here.If you are a fine upstanding person, here to fish or float, you are welcome here.If you are a disrespectful thief here to party and leave your mark on nature, you are not.Wait until you encounter some of these thugs down in the creek when you are by yourself, hopefully you wont be robbed. Vehicles are routinely broken into when left by the creek. These are the reasons the laws are changing, again the actions of a few affect so many others.
  19. Well I guess its time for me to chime in on this issue of public access. Nobody on this post has said that they are a property owner on any of these navigable streams.I am. I can tell you that I have never denied access to ANYONE that has come to my door and asked permission to wade my section of the creek. The problem occurs when people trespass on my property to get to the creek. I have a real nice spot, with a picnic area that is well above the high water mark on the creek bed. When the water is up and people are floating very often they stop and eat, drink, smoke, leave their trash, dirty diapers and eventually leave with my lawn chairs after they have carved the names of their favorite bands into my table. On one occasion I was cussed out for driving my truck down to my own spot because I was ruining the mans good time with his buddies.I have been threatened and verbally abused by people that I have asked politely to move on.My dog has been attacked by a pitbull[luckily my wife is a vet].I have found hypodermic needles in the gravel near my table. How about a used condom every once in a while.I can go on and on.I know what you will say, call the sheriff ,I have they take hours to respond and never has anyone been arrested. The problem isnt as bad as it used to be here because of my .357.I dont mess with these meth heads anymore. When I ask them to leave I make sure that they can see my side arm.I have only had to fire it once,in the air, to let about 15 guys on four wheelers I am serious .I have never seen them again. Things are different now than they were years ago.Maybe the laws need to change.I am not an activist and not out to change any laws ,but I can tell you this, the people that have no respect get no respect from me,period.I have never had a problem with a fisherman or floaters that respect my land and privacy.I have made several close friend that I have met on the river .Two of my best employees initially came to my door to ask if they could fish, turns out they are both fine young men, raised with respect.Im am starting to rant here but I will conclude with this ,I believe that the people on this board are respectful and in the past I have extended an open invitation to anyone who wants to access the Big Sugar on my place, just PM me ,I will get back to you
  20. price went up?
  21. What a knucklehead. Good thing he was alone. He crashed on a wake made by the boat that was filming him.Was this his first time out in his new boat?Amen to the vest and kill switch, use it every time.
  22. this is exactly the same situation I experienced several years ago. Turns out the accuser was the real cheater. It is really unfortunate that some people have managed to take the fun out of fishing. You are the one that has to look at yourself in the mirror, dont let some sore loser ruin your fun.You go out and kick thier butts, Im sure that all the posters on this board would like to help you out.By the way for what its worth,we have been doing well in the White River area near Eagle Rock, releasing several nice fish in the 4-5lb range, check out the channel swings back in Panther creek.Good luck, stay safe.
  23. Seems like I remember hooking several quality fish in this lake close to shore. When the water is up, especially during the spring ,there are for sure, fish up in the brush.Sometimes a trickworm on a bare 5/0 hook is deadly in and around any wood that is lying on shore reaching into the water.Areas between floating docks and shore even under walkways have also produced some nice fish. There are lots of ways to trick the bass on Table Rock ,no exact science here. The best depth is the one where the fish are.Conditions change constantly. If you like to fish shallow ,go in there and take a look ,you'll be able to see some action if they are in there. In any case Good Luck and stay safe.
  24. With all the money spent on electronics these days ,a smart phone is not a bad investment.real time radar is just one of the benefits.May save you from becoming a water spout. With todays technology the weather shouldnt sneak up on you anymore. You can even check the reports when you are on the lake, was thinking of posting a real time report someday. In any case be CAREFUL out there ,I dont want to hear of anyone getting injured or worse.
  25. Glad you had a good time. A post like that makes me feel lucky that I live in a place that others travel to for a vacation.
