  1. Anyone know how far up river the Spoonbill are? I was at Blunks last night and saws lots of whites but no Spoonbill.
  2. Anyone know how far up the spoonbill are? I have a small boat so I was thinking about putting in around Mccord Bend.
  3. Fished Fri. and Sat. above the Orleans. Caught a lot of small crappie and small whites both days.
  4. I was planning on puting my canoe in tomarrow. Will the lack of water make this immpossible?
  5. Can I get my canoe in that part of the river? I have wanted to float it for years and if the fishing is great I see no reason not to go next weekend.
  6. I think alot of the stripers would end up below Powersite dam if the lake is high enough. That might produce a very interesting opprotunity to catch stripers without trolling minnows in deep water. In other states they like to sit behind the dams. I guess there would be a lot fewer rainbows in the Pothole if they are stocked.
  7. Back when I lived in Colorado we would always fish the "ice off" on the Colorado river. It seemed like huge streamers always produced large trout. You might give them a try.
  8. no takers?
  9. Here is a picture of it all put together. My is in great shape. The Brand is Water Skeeter. Comes with fins, a bag, and a battery powered air pump. The boat does have my name written on it in marker, but is in great shape. $75. I live in south Springfield / Nixa area.
  10. I will post a picture along with the brand on Monday. I am leaving town for the weekend.
  11. I have a belly boat for sale. It is the kind that has pontoons. I purchased it in Colorado about 4 years ago and have not found a place to use it back here. I remember paying almost $250 for it new. I will include the flippers and a battery powered pump in the package. The boat fits neatly into a black carrying case. $75 or best offer.
  12. Pumpkin seed green.
  13. The biggest smallmouth of my life came from below Bagnell Dam on the Osage River. I fished there many times when I was at MU and loved it every time.
  14. I limited out on whites and crappies last Sat. at the tailrace. The tick was to use a shad rap rather than soft plastic. You did not need to feel the line with the crank bait so it worked very well in the wind. Heading up again this weekend. Tight lines.
  15. I need one... a little help guys.... Thanks in advance to creekwader.
  16. Try a little Reel Magic line lube. It will help with the overruns / backlashes. Also, make sure your reel is not "too full" of line. I get the best results at about 80% capacity on a spool. (Just think of the last time a bass ran you ALL the way down a spool... For ME never!).
  17. The Pan was HOT last week! I landed some monster browns up by the outlet on a green drake.
  18. I'm leaving on Tuesday. Bump... in case someone has anything else to add.
  19. Gen II night vision can be purchased for around $400-$500 dollars. Be careful out there.
  20. Don't forget the Black Canyon of the Gunnision or the East River or ...............xxxxxx river. I try to stay away from the crowds as much as possible. I would rather fish Tanney than some places out there like Deckers or the dream stream.
  21. I'm heading up the Arkansas river valley. There is about 100 miles of public water to fish from Canyon City to Buena Vista. From there I'm going to head up and over Cottonwood pass and fish Cottonwood creek for Brookies. Then I'll shoot up the Taylor River and fish Spring Creek. From there I don't know. I might fish the Upper Frying Pan. (Above the res. is the BEST water in the whole state). I've fished the South Platte and the other technical streams a bunch when I lived out there, but I would rather catch smaller trout in greater numbers than throw a #24 nat all day long on the dream stream. Nothing is greater than landing wild browns on a #12 Prince nymph with a # 16 p-tail dropper............it worked so well my friends even called me "Prince." I'm also bringing my spining gear......... a soft plastic swimming minnow or pearl slider MURDERS the trout in the lake where it is legal. Nobody does it out there so the trout love it.
  22. Gentlemen and Ladies, I'm taking a little road trip to Colorado in about five days. I lived out there for several years so I know most of the places to go, but I am interested in the current conditions. It seems everything should be calmed down by now. I fly fish mostly, but I will also be taking along the spinning gear. Any input would be appreciated.
  23. Live shad.
  24. A $10 dip net is all you need. Go right next to the wall and you will get all you need. I use my regular bass net to catch them.
