seems to me roostertails work good the first cast then after that it is a constant battle I now use Vibric rooster tails and have never had one fail me yet even a rusty one. You can retrive them mutch slower.
I lied to you seth aboutfish not being up to springfield dam a group of guys went and had there limits by 2 am this morning at the dam. Im going to be headed that way later on this afternoon.
it wont be long they will be back. opening day lastyear I dident see any cought but when them big floods hit people were catching them in the parking lot.
if you can catch them shoaling at tunnel dam you can load the boat in about an 30 miniuts. I have been when it was the right time but hard to drive up there everyday from my house it is about 35 minuts from Benett so if I had to guess is is olny about 20 minut drive from leadmine have you ever fished there Oneshot?
when the water temp gets right that is a awsome place to cath fish of about any kind. that is were the special regulations start 8in goggleeye and 15in smallmouth.
when I was gigging all the fish were piled up in the deep water around cover that has been a few weeks but the water hasent warmed that mutch and there was a bunch of them I seen lots of big crappie they was hanging around thick brush but only in 4 to 6 ft of water not big schools just 1 or 2 in just about every tree. As far as I know they are still there becase I dont gig game fish. where you putting in Cricket. I am ready to go to the 133 when I get a warm weekend and a chance to go.
I sold my Mathews last week and going with my longbow alot more fun. Made me some 6 feather flu-flu's tipped with 38 special brass (cheaper than blunts and work just a good) for rabbits and stuff like that. I enjoy the traditional archery I make my owne arrows, strings, fletchings out of turkey feathers and a friend of mine makes the bowes.
the hill was coverd in ice and so was the ramp but no problems. The 9 boats at barclay was giggers. That was 9 just before dark probley a few more showed up I am sure.Season is over until 9-15 in Mo. I got one more trip to Arkansas before I believe 2-15 is when season closes ( I need to study the reglations )with a friend of a friend that has family with a river in the back yard. Garenteed to see more fish than I ever seen and the bottom will be black with suckers. Anyone heard of any place like this? I hope to end up down there this weekend.
