What will their staging habits be in fall, winter, spring now that the lake is warm everywhere and will take some really cold weather to change it?

So now in addition to checking creels and limits (which is as we all agree under manned) and of course checking for anyone using scents and baits. We now need to add hook checkers as well. Pretty soon I will be a criminal just like the poachers???? You catch and release fly fisherman really know how to make a sport so dang complicated nobody will want to figure it out and you will have the lake to yourself. Will that make you all happy? But in the end you will get the trophies. Then those of us who want to fish with kids will be relegated to the non trophy area where we can keep anything but browns under 24". Thanks.

I don't fish TR all that much. I have been reading posts here all year and the only reference to a topwater bite was by Bill Babler a month or so ago and it was a real brief window at daybreak. Has there been any topwater bite since then?

I agree 95% are law abiding. The problem is in the rural area I grew up in there were no deer when I was a kid because the 5% took 90% of the deer. I have posted before about the MDC budget and little amount that goes to enforcement. It is a disgrace the budget this organization works with and a big chuck goes to buying up more land. And yes these local poachers also fished as well.

Ditto: Fished for years and never been checked. Like to think I am a trustworthey looking person, but I am sure it is an under staffed enforcement that is the reason. As a note: Have seen people get caught smoking pot on the river by agents using optics from trees. I guess that is worse than taking a boat full of fish and destroying fisheries for people.
