  1. i will say 8.07, hope i win i lost a pair
  2. Bimmer, hands down in my opinion is bull shoals. head down to forsyth and and fish swan creek up to the tanny darn. great spots to catch fish, lots of state records have come out of that stretch of water and its a nice shore fishing area. From springfield it is about a 40 minute drive if that. good luck. i have also caught some really nice fish out of springfield lake, i don't fish the warm water oulet very much. If you go down the park road you can fish by the canoes and over along the bluff some. i have a 10ft john boat that i take out there some and you can really catch some nice topwater bass out there. there is also a decent crappie population in springfield lake that nobody really ever targets that i know of, well i guess till now. ha ha. a bad day on the lake is better than a good day at work though. good luck
  3. went with my dad today to catch some crappie. we ended up with 8 keepers and 4 shorts. only fished mdc brush beds and a couple of hidden ones that have beed passed down from other more wise crappie fisherman. did better on the mdc beds than any other. live minnows only. nice hot day on the lake with my dad
  4. WENT OUT ON OPENING DAY AND GOT MY FIRST ONE IN THE SPRING. HE WAS ABOUT 22 POUNDS, 1 1/8 SPIRS, AND 10" BEARD. I WAS PRETTY EXCITED.
  5. Went to river run on saturday. Were looking for walleye. We caught one and only one. Had another nice fish chase it to the boat but would never hit. probably 22-23 inches on the eye. Nice fish male, still full of sperm. Caught it on the north mud bank below dam. had one limit of trout caught on road runner. all white for the trout and jerk bait for the eye. Talked to a guy at the ramp he said him and his wife had been catching big female half way up beaver on friday. they weren't even putting in till 2, i figure the evening bite is better that AM bite then. Good luck hope this helps someone catch some fish, i won't be able to go out till turkey season is over.
  6. My dad went to beaver today with my uncle he said about 10-15 boats is general area. they fished for 6 hours didn't catch a thing all day, very muddy water, lots of current. they said they didn't see any of the other boats catching either so they didn't feel as bad lol. we will probably try the james tomorrow... althogh they probably have the same conditions there. they fished every thing in every color. any advice where to go tomorrow????????????????
  7. do you eat fish out of table rock, taney, bull shoals..... all the same water, water is contantly moving trough there. i have ate a number of fish out of there and i am still typing. lol as long as you cook the fish appropriately it doesn't matter... to me anyway.... eat at your own risk i guess.
  8. i would fish in the middle of the two. which ever run you would want to make is up to you. really the whites are kinda slow still. you might pick up a trout stamp and fish up near the rock pile below the darn. went up there sunday and caught 3 then my uncle went back the next day with a buddy and caught 2 limits. all on powerbait biggest fish was 6 lbs. good luck at whatever you do.
  9. here is one from last year. caught it on the james below springfield lake. i would guess about 80 lbs. o yeah my dad is looking at the tag in its lip. he got 50 $ for calling it in. mdc told him that is was over 25 years old.
  10. Nice one Ryan! Answer your phone so you can tell me where you caught her. lol
  11. I caught a flathead last year in the tailwater access on the james river.(just below the springfield lake). was about 3 pounds. caught it on a nightcrawler and ate it that night. good luck they are out there.
  12. try the weed beds if you can with a green or white buzz bait, as close to the edge of the weeds as you can get, or a hula chug bug. also maybe a lizard might work. good luck let me know how you did.
  13. went to springfield lake yesterday. got there at 650am and fished till 1230. caught a total of 5 bass. largest was 16 inches. nothing big but nice fish. all were caught on topwater in the weed beds. tried fishing longer but had other stuff around the house to do. weather was great.
  14. Man i really feel sorry for the guides that post information, these new rules suck in my mind. Ask any question and get an answer or just go fish and put in the time and figure it out. Remember it is fishing not catching! Sooner or later GPS coordinates will be posted for all deep water docks too.
  15. V86-- only color i throw on TR.
  16. There are some Huge crappie in springfield lake, i have not targeted them but have caught them on crankbaits. should be alot of fun because i don't think anyone really fishes for them that hard. i might start though
  17. try below the darn, with the water being up there are usually some nice fish down there. last year about this time my uncle caught a really nice walleye below the darn. there is always something in that area.
  18. i fished saturday for a little while ended up with 6 bass only one with decent size, caught all on a buzz bait. saw quite a few of boats out for the weekend
  19. I fished sunday from 10-3. caught a mixed bag. ended up with probably 20 smallies all on a 5 inch brown slider, caught 6 whites on a spoon (they would surface for about 2-3 minutes and they were down, were only biting while up on top). Also caught 4 goggle eye and some really nice perch. we got rained on for about 1 hour in the middle of all that. great day on the lake i think the rain scared everyone home only saw a handful of boats.
  20. Jockey, seems to me all you do is run your mouth. Better watch what you say about people, someday it will bite you.
  21. Chompers baits are good wiggle wart in V86-this is the only color i throw on T robo worm eakins jig
  22. fished swan today hope'n to get lucky, no so much. there were several boats catching whites but it took forever to catch on and they all were small males. went up to the rock pile to see the water flowing pretty well over powersite. caught some nice smallies up there. again tried for some whites or walleye and got nothing water temps were 46-48, man that rain really slowed things down, lilley was right on with his prediction.
  23. If it was up to you guys (smart fisherman on this forum) would you all go to swan tomorrow for a shot at the whites or would you go somewhere else. thanks for any input.
  24. nice fish
  25. i think they are all gone seth. wish there were more up there. go up and scout it out sometime, not much going on.
