  1. there is nothing wrong the the fish in any of these lakes. eat whatever you would like. so many people say not to eat fish out of springfield lake but really there is no difference between any lake because that all have inlet water and outlet water that comes and goes from the same places. i have never caught a bass with a sore on it from springfield lake.
  2. wow just got done reading this post and it reminded me of a posting i made on december 14 on the BS topic. seems to me that people are protective of this area because they really enjoy BS. I think when there is someone out there willing to help others have a good day on the lake we all should thank them for the advice, and follow there lead. Man i really hope Bill B was just joking when he said "i am done with this" and that he comes back to the BS forum topics because this forum is usually lacking with reports and there is always someone out there needing some help and nobody posting any good reports under the upper BS. Not only that but there really are only a few that are negative about this post and everyone else is very greatful for the help. I have fished in the K dock area since we moved to missouri in the 80's and my dad and i have some great memories, Bill keep it up, you are someone alot of us look up to. good luck to everyone. o yeah the views is up to 1700
  3. i am planning on going to springfield lake this week and was wondering if anyone had any advice. What are the fish probably doing with the warmer water from the power plant and any bait/lure advice would be great.

  5. I am going to address these comment individually because i have some strong feelings i will share. 193Champ, Sorry you didn't catch a whole lot the other day. seems like we all have alot more of those days than we would like. I will continue to try and give you and anyone else that want some information if I have any that is worth sharing. Always trying to help another fisher out. powerdrive, i have read you posts before and you stated it the best " in my opinion that's just ridiculous". Ham and Forsythian, I guess i can address this to both of you because you were the only two people that decided to complain. As far as i know there aren't any rules on what you can and can't post, it is a forum you know! If you guys choose to keep you information about fishing to youselves or not to share as much as i do then go for it, but don't complain about information i decide to post because it is my information to give. We had a couple great days on the water that week and i thought, hey, i bet there is someone else out there that would love to get a piece of this so i shared everything i could to HELP SOMEONE ELSE. It is in my nature and that is something that will continue. If you guys think my info was even that good you should read some of Bill's reports, haha you would really get mad then. moral of the story: i guess is quit complaining and just enjoy fishing even if you get some/alot of info from this great website.
  6. hey sorry this is a late post but yes k dock is oped. my dad and i fished it 2 weeks ago, you still have to drive over the hill but plenty of room to launch. there were 6 boats there the day we fished. fishing wise go to mincy, bee and bear creek and fish the chunk rock point fish a norm or strike king crank bait in any color we did best on green/ brown and red (really and crawdad colors). we caught fish on every point. most of the fish were within 15 feet of the bank but also had some takers out deep. o yea the cranks we were using were strike king size 5,6 and norm dd14, dd22. big cranks and man were are arms sore from cranking these for 6+ hours. we caught probably 45 fish between the two of us and had 8 large keepers all above 3 lbs. biggest fish was a 5 lb smallie and a 4.5 lb LM. this was by far the best day we have had on BS in a long time. i will post some pictures on here this weekend if i can. good luck 193champ
  7. hey motoman, 1st off sorry for the delay in response 2nd, yes some silver buddy's and also some spinners. good luck
  8. My dad and i fished this past saturday and did pretty well for TR. We put in at about 9am and fished till 330pm. Fished out of Joe bald, such a shame, a nice camping area has to get shut down. We were the only boat at that ramp all day that we saw. didn't travel far to find fish. we fished everything from cranks to jigs to blades. The best fish came on a carolina rig with a 8" worm in watermelon candy in about 16-22 feet of water near bluffs ends. Had multiple 2# fish and alot in the 12-14 slot. we also caught some nice smallies on a norms crank size 5 in sexy shad mainly on pe gravel (fish this in a slow retreive very SLOW). good luck
  9. I was leaving springfield lake the other day, and heard that MDC and the Zoo was coming to get an alligator. I think i need bigger gear. http://www.ky3.com/news/local/30595194.html good luck.

  11. hey GG, i try and fish springfield lake every week. this past saturday i saw a record number of boats out on springfield (25 boats at least). i got on the lake at 530 and fished as much of the weed beds as i could. i ended up with 10 fish and probably 10 missed strikes (most of them being fish knocking the buzz bait out of the water 2 feet). i was fishing a strike king white buzz bait with a paca chunk in watermelon candy with a trailer hook. i also fished the bluff side between the park and the nature center with crankbaits and caught one 3 lb LM. pretty good day i left the lake at 130. good luck to u. nathan.
  12. fish springfield lake guys. i live in springfield and fish this lake as much as i can. u can rent a canoe if you want at that springfield lake park access. not sure on the price as i have a 12 ft jon boat. the fish in this lake are big (largemouth anyway). you can catch 5 lb bass and good size crappie and cats too. good luck. nathan

  16. I have been fishing the tailwaters access alot the past couple of weeks 3-4 times a week, some days are ok and others aren't. i have been catching cats, largemouth, and i couldn't believe it but my uncle caught a 4 pound walleye too. Water was up this last week alot and just wondering how everyone else was doing. thanks nathan
  17. I was just wondering if anyone has been catching anything at fellows lake.
  18. that guy that goes down from the power plant to the tailwater access measures the disolved oxygen in the water. everyone always says it is ok to eat out of there but i have never ate anything from there and probably never will i give my fish away or just release them. i went today and caught a 14"crappie (very nice, like the ones in stockton) on a white road runner, also on same lure i caught a 1.5 lb small mouth and a small 10" catfish. I also snagged (accident trust me) probably a 4 foot spoonbill that took all of my line before breaking off. fish are very thick right at darn water level is good. the 3rd ad 4th pier south of the cliff is where i caught my fish. fun couple of hours. good luck nathan
  19. went to warm water outlet, i ended up fishing on teh james side about 30-50 feet down from teh darn on teh bluff side, i did reasonably well, i caught 1-3 pound cat, 1-3 lbs large mouth, 1-4 pound small mouth, i caught all three fish on a roadrunner spinner wt/gn on my ultralite fun fishing, i also had a large fish hooked but it broke my line unsure of the fish. i yeah i went fishing monday the 5/5/08 from 3pm -630 pm.
  20. i don't think that any of the fish are going to spawn until water temp gets a little higher mid 60's. i couldn't find any crappie yet in fellows lake.
