Trip Reminds Me Of 2009 Float Trip With Babler...
Andy & JoAnne replied to Phil Lilley's topic in U.S.A. - Alaska
Thanks for sharing your experience. Enjoyed it. -
Its CRAZY up here in Seattle right now. I bet the office is cleared by 4:00 today (PCT of course)

Same reason I can't WATCH fishing shows. Makes me wish I was on the water fishing.
-
Thanks so much. I am sending you a PM.

Thanks Charles. You and Cindy are great people. It was a pleasure to meet you and catch a few fish. I think Cindy is going to take all your $$$ if you take her fishing too much. Class act folks and cant wait to see you again. You should try to get out to Crooked Creek and do a float to Snow. Several killer holes in that stretch. Anyway, use the property as much as you like just send me a couple of pics so I don't get home sick. Heck, take a tent and do a weekend outing. I had the property cleared so its a super easy access point. Will try to get there next spring so we will definitely have to wet a line. Thanks Again for Your Thoughts.

The smallmouth I have caught lately always have 2-3 others following the one on the hook and are usually about the same size so I can see how its possible to double up like you did. That's really cool.

The bad thing about it is that they "drain" the lake down about 15 ft. starting the day after Labor Day so that residents can do dock repair. I don't know if the boat ramp will accommodate a boat trailer at that level. Thanks for the tip. If I cant get into Lake Tapps, I will definitely head over to Sammamish.

Lake Tapps is a moderate size lake about 40 miles south of Seattle. I have lived within a stones throw of the lake for 12 years and didn't realize what untapped bass fishing was right outside my back door. Seeing now that our Ozark property on Crooked Creek is not going to be ideal because of injuries my wife received in an auto accident and inability to walk on uneven ground (i.e. wade fishing). We just loved wading the creek and had some fantastic fishing while we were there. So we put the property on the market. Having smallmouth fever I began inquiring about lakes that hold smallies in our area. Well, come to find out it one of the highly regarded lakes was 100 yards from the house. I decided to gear up and test it for myself. I couldn't be more thrilled (except I still have a hankering for the Ozark scenery). Anyway, here are a couple of pics from the last time out on Sunday. Come to find out, the lake is also stocked with Tiger Muskies. Used a medium light rod with an open face reel and 6 lb. test. Used a 4 inch pumpkin seed salty craw all day in 20 foot of water. The fishing was consistent all day catching 12 inch smallies and smaller regularly (sure went through a lot of salty craws). When the Tiger Musky hit my line I thought I had a huge smallmouth. When I first saw him I was a bit disappointed but oh what a fight (30+ inches)!!! The other 2 pics are the larger of the smallies for the day. P.S. The smallmouth on the top right is my personal best but not for long.

Loz Boating Crash - 170Mph - Senseless
Andy & JoAnne replied to cnr's topic in General Angling Discussion
Earlier they stated that he was in stable condition so an undiscovered clot makes sense. http://www.ozarksfirst.com/story/d/story/speedboat-operator-dies-after-lake-of-ozarks-crash/45466/XuZLS1LWp0eayoYbF_4O4w -
I have my feeder next to a big red and pink hanging flower basket. They like the plants better than the feeder. We have probably gone through 2 oz of the mix. I put it there to make life easier for them but "no", they like the blooms. I would move it but the planter is where the wife and I like to sit and chat and have our evening cocktails. We only have a couple visit us but they are getting very use to us (Do I drink too much? LOL). They will come in and hover about a foot in front of our noses. That's pretty cool since they had nothing to do with us this Spring.

That's awesome. I take it she took your two dollars as well. Did you happen to try out your jigs?

Biggest Crayfish You've Ever Seen?
Andy & JoAnne replied to jimithyashford's topic in General Angling Discussion
I have seen quite a few large crawfish up here in the Northwest. Not that big but a good number of 7-8 inchers. -
What was the winning weight? Largest bass? Just curious.... Thanks

Just Bought My First Boat.
Andy & JoAnne replied to Jason R.'s topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
Take Wrench's advice, he helped me fix my boat from 2500 miles away. Thanks again Wrench. -
Trophy, I think you need a little incentive. How about "You Can go fishing AFTER the skunk is caught"? Sounds a little better than "You CANT go fishing UNTIL the skunk is caught" P.S. Good luck with skunk. Moles have driven me to the brink of insanity.

Starter Drive Assembly Question
Andy & JoAnne replied to Andy & JoAnne's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
Thanks. I'll give it a shot. Worse thing that happens is to just do a full replacement. For boat parts, starters are pretty reasonable. I'll let you know how it turns out. -
I have an '89 150 Evinrude and need to replace the drive assembly on the starter. 1. I loosened the starter to give me room to remove the assembly. 2. Removed the nut, spacer and spring. 3. Rotated the assembly on the worm gear up the shaft. I was thinking it would just slide off the shaft. Thats what I get for thinking. It is refusing to budge about 1/2 " from the top of the shaft. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

4 or 5 lots have been sold that I last heard of and one of the lots has a nice home built on it . All the lots have building covenants, i.e no commercial businesses or mobile homes. There are no requirements for barriers. That was my own preference. The main reason I am selling is that most of my family is migrating toward the Plano TX region. My dad passed away a couple of years ago so my family ties to the Yellville/Pyatt area is dwindling fast. I bought the property for 58K. Edit: There is one other lot (sold) with low bank access. After mine, the land contours pretty steeply. Most of the lots sit high off the water. Some are bigger with very limited (if any) water access but great valley views. I am putting it on the market today and will have contact info soon if interested.

Yea, I agree...lots of large smallies in that area and scenery to boot. Hopefully I can make one more trip down to wet a line. If I can, we should meet and do a float to Snow and wear out the ball bearings on a couple of reels.

Here is pic looking upstream from the from the property line (for those who inquired). I will post more this evening. Here is a link with a semi-sorta report.

After much contemplation, I have decided to sell my 3 acres on Crooked Creek in Deerwood Creek Estates (an establishment of 12 lots). The lot is cleared and has been perked for septic installation. I left an uncut barrier of 20 ft on the property lines for privacy. This is the best lot for stream access and beauty. Ads on the internet marketing the other available lots were shot from my property and creek area. Its really that pretty. About 1/4 mile downstream from spring fed Clear Creek and another minor spring tributary, the water stays relatively cool year round. GREAT smallie fishing and a good place to jump in and cool off in the hottest of months. Located midway between Pyatt and Snow makes for easy shuttle to either access or just wade fish right out your back door. This is a lightly fished area compared to the Snow - Yellville access areas. I am selling this below what other lots in the development are asking and have the absolute easiest access to the creek (low bank). The development has building restrictions to insure a nice community setting. Asking price is 54K$, 4K$ below purchase price. IM me if interested and pics.
