We are setting up a OAF meet at Bennett and I tried to add it to the calendar on here, but can't figure out how.... Am I just not looking hard enough?

There are many used cars to choose from that would suit this request.. All of them have different prices as well... Did you have a particular budget? And what do you consider low mileage? From your quote above it sounds like you just haven't found a car that wasn't abused, right? Thank you both for your inquiries, I have PMed you both... Now ask your questions...

I don't see the Phil and whatever show thingy you guys are talking about... Phil, you are the owner of the site, right? I am interested in sponsoring your site, what do I need to do? you are welcome to email me or call me with info on what types of sponsorship you have... cricket@twenters.com 417-718-8666 -
And if you give me all the Jeeps specs I can probably give you all the figures of what it will book out for, the max a bank will loan, etc.... I could possibly set up a loan for your potential customer... Or find a customer for your Jeep.. You see how the possibilities are endless for me in the forum? As long as I always stay honest and upfront....

I noticed this was the finance and investment section, and thought I might have something to offer the group.. See I have been the finance manager at my New Car Store for a few years now, and being in my position I have a few perks... 1.) I handle all of the car deals that go through the office, so I have access to dealer books, trade and loan values, auto market true valuation research, warranty prices and services, etc... 2.) I actually have the ability to quote prices on warranties and financing as well as explain Missouri's Auto laws and procedures.... 3.) I have a system that builds up the MSRP and invoice values of ANY NEW AUTO on the market today... I can't say what other dealers are willing to take, but I can tell you what is a good deal and what is not... I figure as long as I am not offering anything for sale that this thread would be OK, but if not, I am sure the Mods will let me know...

Completely fly fishable, with two small acceptions. One: Once the USGS height gage at bennett is above three feet it gets pretty hard to wade that spot. Two: I don't have a clue about fly fishing... But I will bring enough of my lures to show you how to spoon fish my spot as long as you show me a few tips about fly fishing... Anybody else along for the ride? Just gonna be wade fishing and My spots are actually all within walking distance of the park and ony a few hundred yard from parking spots...

Anybody who is planning on being here friday evening, make sure and let me know.. I would love to meet up with some of you then.. We have a Charity Frisbee Golf Event on that same day (saturday the 28th) but I will be bailing out of that at noon to make sure to meet some of you at the restaurant... Anybody want to get in some river fishing on friday night? How about Sunday Morning? I know all the local trout spots, if you are interested, just let me know....
-
I ran down to the public access and caught my limit real quickly.. Same spoon method I usually use... One was around two pounds.. They are fighting really hard for some reason here lately.... River was up about a foot, brown and dirty.. But the spring looked nice... Cloudy and running slightly fast...

Before this gas crunch those two door 4x4 yukons in the late nineties in good condition were worth their weight in gold! I say if it's got a good ownership history, decent miles, and a decent body.. It's worth the 3-5k range all day long.. Best of luck... Those old 350's aren't the greatest on mileage, but they are dependable...

You hear so many of these same stories working in my industry (GMC store) it's just amazing how well these trucks do if you take care of them...
-
That's sort of my point.. I guess I understand if there are limitations to what you can use where, but it doesn't make any sense.. I am sure with enough engineering I could manage to make a soft plastic bait that would have the same action as this metal spoon.. So if that can be done, what's the difference to the park? Don't answer that, it's a rhetorical question.... However I am actually excited at the prospect of fishing zone two... I haven't been in that zone in years (remember i usually buy the yellow tag go to the river where it's all legal in the same spot) Now the second part of that question was... If I attach a feather to it does it become legal in zone 1 and not in zone 2?
-
Thank you again Dave for the helpful information, it's amazing how many people (like myself) are misinformed... So if I could construct that lure and action in a soft plastic it would be ok? And are Sinkers considered "constructed of any material excluding soft plastic bait and natural and scented bait as defined"... and therefore illegal in this zone?
-
While I am sure that you are right I have had people kick me out of zone two with that little spoon, and when I showed it to the park ranger he confirmed that I needed to stay in zone three! Weird huh? So do the rules mean that if I put a feather on the lure then I can take it to zone one? This is exciting, I thought I was restricted to Zone three (which is why I usually stay out of the park!)

My favorite is a Rebel 1 1/2 long silver minnow popper.. It's got double treble hooks for more hook-ups and feathers on the end with a few red feathers to trigger strikes... I just pop it slowly over the rocks and they eat it up.... Until they get stubborn... Then the buzzbaits come out....

Those Tundra's are OK if you don't need the truck to be an actual truck 100% of the time... Like if you want to put more than 150 lbs on the tailgate... And you would think that a Toyota would get better mileage than it does... Unfortunately for Toyota the results are in... If you need a grocery getter, consider (and probably still decline to purchase) the toyota Tundra... But if you need a truck that will actually do a truck job, better stick with one of the big three.. For my end I would say GMC of course... Oh, and then there's Toyota's poor CSI on the Tundra... They just don't know what truck owners expect or what they use their trucks for... Voiding the waranty on the 4x4 system because of "excessive off-road use" claiming that the customer has "had the truck through a mudhole or something.." The guy drove it through one yard at his jobsite and it got pretty muddy.. Not any muddier than the commercials show though... Sorry, rant off....

Come up to Lebanon on any given sunday and I will be happy to take you out to Bennett Spring State Park and show you where they hide the lunkers (or at least how the Lebanites catch 'em)

You might check out the Osage Fork River down here as well, it's a pretty shallow river so wading it is best... Fishing for 1-3 lb smallies with a fly rod is a great time (or even just an ultralite) I am curious though, your Fiance isn't Dewey Fishalot, is he? Cause if so that means when you get married you would be Ivana Catchabass-Fishalot.. Wait, are you going to hyphonate? NEWAYZ Glad you found the board, keep us posted on how big the bass get.... Do you catch and realease, or eat 'em? -
Amen brother! Can't get enough of that power.. And the ride of the GM's can't be beat IMHO...
-
He definitely would have gone in the back pond until he was a state record.. Awesome catch!

Still hunting for that truck? I have a few to choose from if you wanna PM me for details...

The higher that fuel goes the lower the diesel values will be, but there is a stopping point to the madness and I think it is just about there.... Diesels are still worth something because of guys like you that just have to have them.... You are welcome to consider the Diesels I have on my lot... PM me for details, I am in Lebanon....

Welcome to the site, glad you could make it... You should come down to the Gasconade sometime, it's legendary for it's smallies! BTW is your name Ivana Catchabass? -
Definitely welcome! Is that pic you attached a place of yours, or just a place you like? Either way it looks like an awesome spot! Hope you enjoy your 5 day adventure, wish I was doing the same.

Anybody Feel Like Suggesting A Good Outfitter In Doniphan?
FishinCricket replied to FishinCricket's topic in Current River
Thanks for the info Gavin, I am not looking forward to fighting my way through the jet boats, I might just take your suggestion about pulltite to roundspring, but it will be up to my wife... If she wants a 2 hour float fighting jetboats and screaming idiots, so be it... We will be doing our main fishing at grandpa's lake anyways...
