  1. Thanks Straw Hat, I went to Dove hunt below Aldrich bridge this morning. We got a few doves while the rain stopped from 630 to 8 o'clock AM. There was about 30 of us die hard dove hunters at my location. Man, the rain sure came down at 8am. Anyway, I appreciate this link. This will be helpful for many trips to come Have a great day, Charles
  2. Thanks Straw Hat.....lots of shorts this morning in the little sac arm from Aldrich. Even the 5 cats I caught were small. Just got the wife back. I will probably head to CC with my neighbor. Wife can't sit in a boat all day.
  3. Nice Straw Hat, I am taking the wife in the morning. Did you head up pass the bridge or were you down river from the ramp? We were thinking about hitting Aldrich bridge in the morning, but it sounds like more action on your end of the lake. Also, where can I buy minnows early in the morning on my way to CC from Springfield? I will be coming up from I-44. Thanks Charles
  4. Thanks again Bob. Have a nice weekend.
  5. Hope you all have a good catch today. I am smoking Paddle-fish today and making weights for Jug Lines, I went Wed morning and saw some nice cats caught. Crappie were small on our end. Caught several...no keepers. Look like the lake dropped a foot and a half while we were out there. Yea eyeman, I would like the tournament thing too as long as I can make some quick cash, I am on unemployment since August 13. Gave my sweat and blood to the company for 4 years always 30 minutes early and stayed 1-2 hours late everyday and even worked weekends. Go figure. No stress now. Maybe Bob could use an extra man? High Bob.
  6. Set a few nibbles out on the boat in the sun. They will harden up a little....this way they will stay on your hook longer. I did learn that in the seminar.
  7. Keep fighting Champ. Fighters live longer and love longer. Our prayers are with you too.
  8. Nothing is ever achieved without effort. So good job. I was wondering...do the trout come this far down or is the water too warm for them on this end of Taneycoma?
  9. Straw Hat...Way to go. I was in Branson this weekend getting skunked by my 12 year old nephew. ............Nephew..(8 Rainbows)......Uncle Charles...(0)...We sat in on a Crappie Seminar last week at bass pro. Do you use Power-bait Sparkle Nibbles on your Crappie Jigs?
  10. Kwall, I fished that area below CC for Walleye last week. Got skunked too. Eyeman said we should fish on the North end of the lake if we wont to catch walleye this time of year. That man really knows his stuff. I cant wait till he makes it back down. I need help BIGGGGG TIMMMMMME. I get skunked every time I go. (I definitely got the LINE WRAPPING TECHNIQUE DOWN )
  11. Good humor Wayne SW/MO......Looking forward to fishing LOZ Next Weekend. Anyone doing good on the Crappie Lately. Does anyone have any luck using the Power-bait Sparkle Nibbles on their Jigs up at Loz? Also, is the cat fishing been good below the dam this time of year? Blues, Channels and Flats?....I was just kiddn round bout the Calico.
  12. Nice pics. I was wondering. Do you have a live well on your Kayaks?
  13. look out guys. WE are all in trouble Champ is bringing his secret weapon. Keep up the good work Donna. My wife thinks its pretty cool to see yall fishing together alot. I too finally got lucky 5 years ago when I met Lisa. We have some of our best times out on the lake when we are not at the office working. Hows TECHO been. Haven't been on TBR in a while. Tell him Charles said Fish on. Oh yeah. Man do I feel awful now. I forgot all about the OAF stickers for our motors. My brother is finally came up from Louisiana to fish in Branson this weekend. I am going to Phil Lilley's to get some stickers for the motor. Anyone reading this report should call Phil Lilley and get the OAF stickers. It is a good way for all of us up here to notice each other on the lake and get familiar. Camaraderie is good for the soul. Good Luck and Safe Fishing
  14. I gave some employees of mine directions to Taylor's Bridge. They caught some nice cats off the Bank this past weekend. They said the water was muddy from all the rain. Thought you might want to know.
  15. I went down the Niangua a few weeks back. Not a place I will take my wife and friends ever again. To many derelicts and idiots on that river. I know every now and then you might see a couple of Drunks on the James but atleast they know how to suppress their actions MOST of the time and don't take their clothes off or ask your wife to show her......well you know what i mean. LEAVE MARDI GRAS TO NEW ORLEANS. I KEEP A MEAN PADDLE IN MY CANOE. Hope you all have a great weekend coming up. Heading down to Branson to relax with some Trout Fishing. Glad to see we got Trout in the James, never caught them here, but look forward to them some day. Also, I was wondering. Has there been a Missouri Stream Team Clean up on the JAMES this year and do any of you participate in it?
  16. Thanks Phil, My Dad and nephews are in town this week staying in Branson. They caught several Trout yesterday up by the dam. My nephews are 8 and 10. They lost out on the World Series Baseball Tournament last week. But they won the Louisiana State Championship. Now its FISH ON for them. Also, my Brother is actually making it up tomorrow for the First time since his honeymoon back in the early 90's. I have been trying to get him up here ever since. He works a lot and coaches both boys teams in football, basketball, soccer and baseball and takes them hunting and fishing tournaments. Thanks for this report BIG TIME. Do you have anymore OAF stickers for the Boats. I want to come buy and pick up a couple. Thanks, Charles.
  17. Was that your neighbors missing cat. Calico or what. Has any snake-head fish been seen in this area anybody?
  18. That's funny. I don't care who you are...that's funny
  19. Head south away from the bridge for about 2 miles it seemed to me. When you find the area with all the Trees sticking up out of the middle of the lake you will know you are there. This is where I saw the guys catching keeper crappie on the blue/chartreuse jigs. This area is 25-30ft deep. You will see hundreds of fish on the radar. They were at depths of 8-15ft Sunday.
  20. Thanks. I will call you this evening.
  21. There was one gentleman under the bridge catching crappie. I guess he had good luck earlier in the morning. I think the crappie bite had slowed down for him though. I wish I would have been fishing for them earlier at sunrise. That always seems to be the magic few hours. Good Luck.
  22. Had a great time Sunday morning. Big thanks to all you guys. I finally made it to the Greenfield access to fish this time. Really was not sure which direction to head. Two boats launched when I did. They headed in the same direction away from the bridge. That looked like the way to go so I did. Stopped about 1/2 mile down on the right where a creek came into the lake. Caught 7 LM'S from 1 to 3 pounds on a silver torpedo. Trolled for Walleye for 4 hours. I just cant seem to get this Walleye thing down right. I lost a lot of tackle on submerged trees . I did find where the crappie were. OH THEY WERE THERE BY THE THOUSANDS. I used the same BLACK/CHARTREUSE Jigs that BOB BENNETT Used on the other end of the lake and the crappie I was fishing for must have been from a different FAMILY They would not hit those or any other colors makes or models. There were two men in a boat near me catching them left and right. I could not stand it anymore. I had to ask. And sure enough....I'm glad it wasn't me...they were hitting BLUE with Chartreuse. Figures, the only color I did not have I thought it was time for me to retire from fishing. I also helped a man and his son...towed them back to shore, their motor would not start. They offered me money. I did not take it. So they showed me their secret crappie holes. I ended up fishing under the Bridge at CC just before I left and caught 7 MORE LM'S on 1 OZ. White Rooster Tails. Thanks God and thanks OAF members. I would have given up if it were not for y'all. I ended up having a great time. I guess I will leave the Walleye to you guys. It's back to the drawing board for me.
  23. Sorry to hear about your bad luck with the camp site. Mother Nature shows no mercy at times. Glad you made it off the lake safely. Some folks have been less fortunate at times in the past. Sure would be nice if we all had some place to take refuge at a OAF MEMBERS PLACE or something. Be nice if we had a OAF CAMPSITE on each lake in the Ozarks with covered and enclosed pavilions for this type of weather conditions. Glad to see you made it out OK. Better luck with the weather next time.
  24. Thank you for serving our Great Country Leupold and helping provide our Freedom. Our prayers are always with you. I usually catch my White Bass in the Creeks off the main lake parts. I usually see lots of shad being chase down by the WHITES. I would say in the creek areas the white bass have an easier time with their victims...usually see tons of shad during this time.
  25. When I see them bust the top on them shad...I cast a HUGE WHITE ROOSTER TAIL up in the mix of them. Never fails...they tear it up as soon as it hits the water. It is awesome. I will hit them in the morning hopefully. I am putting in at Greenfield.
