  1. Is the one on the bottom left called Phil Robertson? Looks like it's all "beard".... :-)
  2. In your defense, I will say that the snow came in way faster than expected and obviously a lot more than was expected. I heard it was so thick that you couldn’t really run on plane much because it was so hard to see how to drive on the lake. I also heard about you guys stranded due to Hwy 12 closing down before you could get out of there. That was pretty rough and a bit on the scary side. No one wants to stay stuck in the parking lot overnight waiting for the roads to open so you can leave. My hats off to the guy who caught the one fish that won. Catching a fish in those conditions with water temps in the mid to upper 30’s is a very slow go. If the water temps had been warmer near 60 well…………..heck I might have been out there!! LOL
  3. Between the consoles. I've got two places to tie bungee chords too (see after photos) I can change bungee lengths and secure my bait bucket or a small cooler. I've got an old Igloo water cooler that would make an awesome bait bucket and it's insulated so it won't get hot in the summer! SCORE! :-)
  4. I have added additional photos to this thread for future reference. If anyone is wanting to make one for their boat, I encourage you to talk to fishinwrench who has made several of these. I added a few photos of my alum. sheet metal reinforcement as suggested by fishinwrench. These panels are a bit short and smaller than the lids themselves and the point is to keep the corners from curling. I do feel these stock sizes I found cheap (naturally on the cheap as I'm on a budget) should do the trick. I also added a couple of photos of the boat on the water with the new extension. I simply cannot put words online that can express how much better this boat fishes from this little extension. It's WAY better than I expected. It's a short 15ft boat but fishes like a much larger boat now. Maybe an 18ft! LOL!! Hey, some of us will use every foot we can muster.
  5. Longing for warmer spring weather & 50+ degree water temps!

  6. There was a local tournament of "nuts" yesterday. I do know one of them. Winner got over $900 for weighing a fish. Yes.......one 2.5lb fish won big bass and the whole fish net!!! I won't mention any forum members names but my friend JOE was one of them. Craziness. Pure craziness. Lol Glad they all made it home safe and no one was frozen or drowned. A blessing.
  7. I coukdnt help myself. :-). He knows I'm only teasing in good sport as friends often do.
  8. Blah blah blah.......I catch crappie. Good luck. (Short version) Lol!!
  9. Like I said. Opinion and theory. Lol I agree, Ozark craws are far different than most of what he is seeing.
  10. Us taking about it is really making me wan to go. We need to cut this crap out! LOL
  11. In all honesty, the weather will be so terrible this weekend, I don't think anyone will miss much of anything if they didn't go. Although I'm dying to get out there.
  12. I agree. I think I was feeling knead missing out on colors being the key but I remember that green with bright chartreuse trailers and black and blue jigs working in gin clear water. I agree presentation is the biggest factor. I'm going to experiment more this year with my jigs and see what works, make notes, and go from there.
  13. Found this online. Thought I would share it here. Interesting opinion & theory from a crawfish farmer and Elite Series pro angler.
  14. The fog is not that dense anymore. Water temps are in the 60's now that the discharge is not putting out as heavily anymore. I haven't been to an early launch there in a while but I've seen fog last all day there before. In the last few trips, there was no fog in sight. Not even at the discharge. Anyone crazy enough to go full bore into a fog thick lake is begging for trouble. Anyone stupid enough to be off plane in the middle of it is definately asking for trouble. At least fish a shoreline or as close to the bank as possible until fog lifts.
  15. A buddy of mine just finished a series over there. How many tournaments are there in the series you're talking about? I'd like to but can't. My wife has to work Saturdays for a few hours. I might could do a couple though. For the fun of it. I do know a few things about the lake. It can be super tough or super easy.
  16. Did it shrink up your plastic worms?? LOL!!!
  17. Really odd considering it's a petroleum based product and does not contain any fish oils. I can see someone I know now......spraying WD40 like there's no tomorrow and then bragging about how many stripers they caught!! LOL
  18. I saw a guy on Youtube put WD40 to the test. Some were using it as a fish attractant alone. He was fishing for catfish and would use WD40 at the attractant. It didn’t work for him. The guy even contacted WD40 to see if there was “fish oil” within the formula as that might help explain it. The rep for WD40 had never heard of anyone using their product as a fish attractant and found it quite comical. So much that he thought it was a prank call. lol There may be something to it as a cover scent. Seems odd.
  19. Yep, that's the hose I have. Half concrete by now. Hahaha I tried pulling some foam. Still couldn't quite get to it with a wrench or pliers to loosen the hose clamp. Right spot and hard to get too. I finally said acre it and just cut it short to get the old hose out of the way.
  20. Yeah, I may get me a small bottle of that for the boat.
  21. I tried to upload a photo earlier, phone wouldn't let me. Here is a pic of the product. I'm skeptical to use these while fishing. The scent is so strong, I can't see it as being a "fish attractant", more like a deterant! I'll pass on the 10W40. I'd rather not get greasy hands all over everything. LOL
  22. I picked up a package at local Cabelas on an impulse buy. I thought "why not". They do clean hands and eliminate gas odors. (Tried it first .....HAND! Hahaha) I don't know that I buy the "fish attractant" idea. Smells a bit like a cross between some pine scent and maybe a bait smell. Just curious.
  23. I already fixed my split hull. This why I was so paranoid about the water getting in. I was trying to find the second source. One thing is for sure, the repaired portion of the hull IS by far the strongest part of the boat now. I whet a bit above and beyond with the epoxy resin and mesh!! Lol
  24. I hear ya but you have an alum hull. Mine is not and I like it to stay dry. I at least know where water was getting in. That was my biggest concern anyway. I figure my solution was an easy fix. Oh and wrench, the hose was SO stiff and tough, I could not get to the factory discharge. There was SO much foam around it and I had to get a shear to cut the original hose. Darn near needed a small saw. Crazy stiff. I don't know if I had enough room for a reverse trap either although, that is a better idea.
