  1. THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!
  2. Captiva and Sanibel Island. Tarpon fishing is really good there in June. So is snook, redfish, etc.
  3. Ah Naples..........the good life. LOL I'm coming back from my tarpon fishing trip and vacation in Ft. Myers in mid June.
  4. Early July? Late June then?
  5. Great report as usual!! We definately need to make a bass/walleye trip in my new boat!!
  6. I probably can't make it till mid July. I will be on vacation mid-to-late June and by the time I return, I'll be pretty busy. I'll do my best to make it though.
  7. Good call sir. Good call.
  8. It is but the larger you get, the cost jumps up considerably. A lot of investment for a pond rig. I know it can do more than a pond but this is on the hi side of the options available. Just something to consider.
  9. Wives are optional. Lol!!!! We should do this. Meet up for a camp style breakfast, visit, and maybe have a little fun with an OAF tournament for about 4hrs and anything goes. Any species. Single team or double (I call shotgun on F&Fs boat). Most weight wins bragging rights. :-) Just for fun.
  10. As for place, I say meet up at Prairie Creek. There are lots of picnic tables on the west end.
  11. You started it........ Just sayin'. Lol! The next two months are really busy but I'll do my best to attend. Can't really take on more than that.
  12. Definately a good report. Glad you figured out the walleye. Fishing in windy conditions and trolling can be tough on that lake for sure. They will bite if it's early though. Once it's been howling good, they tend to shut down to to boat traffic and wind. My experience anyway. In mid week, it might be different.
  13. I'll show up. :-). I know Feathers&Fins would as well. We've talked about it as recently as this last month I believe. Just busy and forget the idea as fast as it pops up. Just a warning, I'm bringing my boat for test rides. Lol! (It's for sale)
  14. With a lot of small fish I hear. Great for kids. Heck any day catching 20-60 bass is fun to me butnnit for some. (Tournament guys)
  15. If it was a pond boat just for one to two people, I would say one of those little Pelican plastic boats is a darn hard to beat little boat. But for 3 people, that takes it up a notch. Way up. Yep, launching mine in a pond isn't really an option. Just probing. Lol. I got a brand new boat on order and wife won't let me keep two. (Nuts) Mini pontoon just might be a deal to look at. Just limits you to small waters.
  16. If a Jon boat, get the widest you can afford. Much more stable. Fitting up to 3 in a Jon is not impossible but not comfortable by any means. Usually requires a Jon big enough for a 20 horse outboard.

  18. I have a small fiberglass boat for sale. Probably way way more boat than you're wanting but it's a solid fishing platform for up to 3 people and you can fish big lakes with it. I'm saying this because for the price you pay for a qualitypond boat, you could have a more versitile rig equipped with fish finders, storage, etc. If interested PM me. This is obviously not a pond boat but jus tthought I'd share just in case. Never know. Sorry if this is no help.
  19. ^^ Lol!!!! Sshhhh.........some things are best kept secret.
  20. Lol!!! That's pretty accurate too. I haven't seen any Lews spinng reels so I cannot say anything about them. The baitcasters seem a bit over priced to me. You can get a quality Shimano for $30-120. Depends on what you will use it for and how often. Occassional light duty, go for the $40-50 range. Heavier duty and more frequent use, go for the higher end. Either will make you happy.
  21. Lol!!!! I could see that.
  22. Consider the audience. The stupid stuff most of them do......they would not care.
  23. I drug up a Abu Garcia Conolon spinning rod last summer just off of the Rocky Branch west ramp. The reel was toast. Rod was in decent shape. For grins and giggles, I bought a super cheap $25 Shimano micro spinning reel. Even their cheap stuff is better than others. I font use Quantums for this reason. Only their higher end stuff is decent. Pfleuger President is a very quality reel also. I've had one for almost 7-8yrs now. Never serviced it other than me cleaning and living it. Still looks like new.
  24. Anything Shimano or Pfleuger
  25. I wouldn't call 3ft + snook itty-bitty..... And I love a snook. I hear they are very tasty. They are really smart fish too. Can be hard to catch in the salt flats of Florida.
