  1. That's a big walleye!
  2. The classic will be on Grand this winter. We need to go. Official "Man Day". LOL!
  3. You're killing me with the panko bread crumbs. I have to try this now.
  4. I'm not seeing a lot of spots on the GIS map. Thank you for sharing this! I did not know it existed.
  5. Awesome job! I saw this on the AGFC Facebook page a few days ago. Interesting management of the trees and perfect use for the trees in the lake. If I provide you with a particular pattern where you could drop them in a row one after another, us trollers would appreciate it! LOL! (kidding)
  6. There is a saying....."Never bring a knife to a gun fight". There is another saying...... Never try to compete with Jolicious using a bass jig.
  7. Not many do but it's a necessity we all must learn on this lake and especially lakes like Table Rock and Bull Shoals. I myself and still learning it. The fish behave differently in deeper water. I know they are there, I know I'm presenting a bait to them. I just don't always get them to bite. I'm slowly learning the tricks to trigger bites. (I think) Jig bite....man that's something I have not had in ages yet I continue to fling the darned thing. I'm on a serious dry spell on those and it's not the jig combo. Must be the angler.
  8. Some days, the fish will hit one color and won't touch the other. I've made it a habit to use select colors based on history and location. One bait will outperform the other. Only the fish can tell you why. I think some will dive deeper than others, color must make a difference but I suspect its due to the type of flash it creates more so than the color itself, and some days.......you can beat them in the head with a "bama rig" and they won't bite. I never troll a bama rig although I have before. I just don't feel like taking my wallet out and throwing it in the water. :-/ Definitely some nice crappie. Been a while myself since I caught any. They disappeared on me this year and when I do find some, they won't bite for me. At all. Not even on night crawlers or spoons. Uncooperative little boogers.
  9. Lol!!!!! Mine has fishing on the brain. ;-)
  10. True. You've usually been with me. Or actually, I've been with you on the water fishing on those days. From your boat. ;-)
  11. LFL - Lingerie Football League???
  12. Some of my favorite days are home games when the Hogs play. Because I have the entire lake to myself!
  13. I saw that earlier today. No clue. Total loss I bet.
  14. Camp coffee just always taste better than regular coffee. Something about a cool crisp morning I guess.
  15. You're exactly right. And no, they have not. They are still deep. As of today I'm told. Will be a few more weeks of cooler weather before they go all John Pinette at a Chinese buffet!
  16. I am predicting that this spectacular weather will create a flood of anglers like a small gold rush. I've already heard rumors of water in the low 80's and upper 70's. That's a major temp drop that should create feedbags being strapped on. Most folks go to the woods to hunt in October and November and then settle in for the winter. Not I. I'm an all year angler. As I was walking into the office this morning, thoughts of campfires and crisp cool mornings with fresh coffee entered my mind. Which made me want to cry like a girl because I was not sitting at a campfire, with fresh camp coffee, looking over the lake as the sun rose. Anyone else looking forward to the colder weather? I'm guessing that's pretty much everyone on this board. LOL!
  17. This would have been me as I spent 2 seconds turning the key on my ProXS....
  18. Sounds like the same 7 I have seen. I think it's a club.
  19. I swear the cigarette boats exist to endanger others. I hadn't seen them for a while. Then saw them Saturday. Labor Day can't come fast enough. After that, we should get out lake back. Good job on the bouncers!!
  20. I've seen that before. And yes. It is wrong. Lol!

    Today

Awe man are you in trouble. She's a cutie. I know how proud you are. Mine is the same way. Cute and a princess. Except yours fishes so you trump me. Lol! Nice photos and memories right there.
  22. I saw them raiding a school of 3" shad like they were raping and pillaging in medieval times Saturday morning. They have feed bags on for a particular diet. I was practicing with my cast net on that same school of bait. Before I'd cast the net, I'd see white flashes below the bait ball where bass and white bass were helping themselves. Dropshot seems to be unproductive right now and spoons don't seem to do much good either. Get on fish around a school and you may have a chance. But the school moved and therefor, so do you. Tough?? Yeah....it's tough. Tougher than I can handle. Someone is good enough to capitolize on these conditions. I'm not I guess.
  23. I've noticed that a split shot below the hook causes a lot of line twists. I've been drop shotting for bass with a split shot this summer (because I'm cheap). I also tried the nightcrawler tip Saturday. I was completely surprised that I was having fish swim up to the falling bait (as I watched on the graph) only to have them swim away from the bait once they got to it. I need to find a cover scent or something because I'm down to "I stink" as an excuse. I use 6lb line in moss green (Pline) with a small live bait hook as you stated above with a split shot about 12" up the line. I got one catfish to hit it and he hit it good. I was on fish too the whole time. I wouldn't drop unless I saw fish grouped up tight. They would almost always run up to the worm to check it out as it fell. Not a nibble.....
  24. I had a gar shread my Rapala crankbait. Ripped it to shreads. It was about 4-5ft long too. Feathers&Fins caught one and cooked it up. I told him I'd try some. I think he baked it if I remember correctly. Might have been fried. I can't remember. What I do remember was, it tasted surprisingly very good. It was a cross between steak (yes steak), chicken, and just a hint of fish. It was the strangest thing. You couldn't really tell what you were eating taste wise because it was tender like chicken, taste a little like a mild cube steak and just a hint of fish. The seasoning he used was good also. So I can say I have tried gar and it does actually taste pretty good. I've heard that many times but most people don't believe it. I'm a believer now.
  25. Sounds like you are one lucky fella to have a daughter that wants to do everything with Daddy. Mine is all girl. And I do mean girly girl. Princess diva and full of sass. I'm hoping she takes up fishing with me. Just been too hot this summer for her and I only want to take her when I know I can put her on fish. Her attention span is about ( --- ) that long. I could definitely see mine wearing a tutu though. That's cute. Take that little girl fishing as much as she wants to go Dad. It will pay dividends later.
