  1. I'm still trying to get used to my new phone's camera - It's gloss black base coat, with Candy-Apple-Green overlay and a little glitter in the clear coat. They look pretty neat - I just can't seem to get a good angle to show the color... This is the first time I've messed with the candy-apple type colors. It's a lot of fun to see what happens. I don't think the bass care, but I think it's cool that I can see the reflection of my phone in the bottom picture in the lure on the right (White cover on the phone)
  2. I am ready for the muddy water now.
  3. Never fails.
  4. Ah yes.... Polar Bear was the day you slept the last couple of hours!
  5. Perfect example of why I fish the Polar Bear every year. The memoires and fun stories are priceless.
  6. I've thrice entertained entering an FLW event as a co-angler. With the right draw, I figure the entry fee would be well traded for fishing knowledge. 2 main concerns have kept me from it: 1. Drawing two days' of pros that are either having a bad time, or are just plain mean. 2. Heaven forbid I lost a fish out of the net for them. I have yet to lose a fish due to a netting error, but can only imagine how bad I would feel if I lost a pros fish.
  7. Was that the year where clothes were allegedly removed in a less than modest fashion?
  8. Amen to that. I was only half-kidding above when mentioning my plan for Friday - I have fished the last, I don't know, 6 or 7 Polar Bear tourneys in a row.... I didn't say I FINISHED the last 6 or 7 It may very well look like the jackpots at Swepco, where everyone in the tournament can visit as well as fish because we're all within 25' of each other.
  9. Dang boss, it's kind of a pick your poison this weekend I guess. Putter around Beaver Lake to make sure nothing breaks or risk the ramp / parking / dock scratches / bumper boat mentality over at Swepco...
  10. Miss Sherry just read an interesting tidbit to me: "At 9.5' draining, the flood gates are moving an Olympic swimming pool's worth of water per second" Seriously, take a second and think about that. Every second.
  11. I have a plan: 1. Arrive around 6:00 and pay entry 2. Stay in Tahoe until 8:30 or so. Or, hang out at HLS with Brother Scott if he happens to be there. 3. Launch the boat by 8:45. 4. Drop trolling motor and fish for an hour. 5. Come to my senses and head home. 6. Watch Hogs DESTROY Kansas State in Liberty Bowl
  12. Truth be told, I was going to play the part of resident jackass-armchair quarterback... But since you beat me to it, I thought I'd go ahead and fish it.
  13. I sure hope we have a nice long freeze at some point. Sure hate the springs after mild winters. Too many bugs amd snakes
  14. It's not like you'd be outdoors, inches from water, wrapped in an electromagnetic field, holding a 7' piece of "lightning-finding" graphite, standing as the tallest object in the area...
  15. Except me. I don't need self-reflection. YOU keep me in line ;-)
  16. If the purple spot in the red is a nose, i see an angry gremlin coming....
  17. LOTS and LOTS and LOTS (did I mention "LOTS", as in, SEVERAL?????) of light coats with plenty of dry time between, brother...
  18. Mr. Al - Those baits are really good looking - they look as though they've caught a LOT of fish!
  19. Guess that means heavy clothes in the morning and strippin' by noon...
  20. Anyone heard about the Polar Bear for Jan 1 2016 yet? I can't find any information anywhere. Usually entry forms are at the tackle shops mid-November, but not this year. I hope there is one, as it's one of the tournaments that I never do well in, but love the idea of starting the year in a local tourney!
  21. And, truth be told, I am terrible at sanding the paint off of painted lures. That's probably the main reason I don't repaint
