If you would happen to be fishing the spot that I wanted, then I am afraid that I would have to let the venon take its toll.

Don't know if it is the same snake, but a water snake has been hanging out there for the past 2 seasons. It likes to crawl around your feet when they are running water.

Appears to be a highly toxic invisa snake. I will definately be on guard while I am fishing tonight.

The generation schedule shows water on until midnight tonight, and then shutting it down. How close to the schedule have they been running after dark? Do you think they will shut it down before midnight is my question?

Hey drew, when we had muskies at loz, several were caught in the niangua rivers. hope you do well.

Passed over the hwy 7 bridge on monday. it is as low as I can recall ever seeing it. It actually looked more fishable with the low water in that location.

When i say that I am a huge supporter of mdc's efforts, I have evidence to back it up. I was born and raised here at loz, lived in camden county my entire life, except for the 4 years of military. I grew up in a hunting and fishing family. Back in the sixty's, catching a 15 inch bass was rare, catching crappie over 10 inches was rare, seeing a deer when you went hunting was even rarer. I have grow up watching mdc make tremendous improvements in my outdoor activities. Trout fishing at lake taneycomo was greatly enhanced by the intro of brown trout in the 80's. They have turned it back into a world class fishery. Even though I don't fish rivers much, I know of the improvements to those areas. They have made access to rivers and streams for public use. Back in the day, knowing a landowner to gain access was critical. I am certainly not smart enough to know about the studies and research that goes on, but it is has made tremendous strides in the improvements that I have witnessed in my lifetime. I may be in favor of certain issues more than others, but I know that mdc is careful and calculating in changes they inact. And things that I would like to see may never occur in my lifetime. But that's ok because I have witnessed many overall improvements in the past 50 years. Those improvements have made my outdoor activities the best that they could possibly be.

Well I can see that there are still some out there that just simply refuse to joke anymore. I will confine my light humor to the trout section from now on. Them smb's are too dang hard to catch anyway.

Hmmm, lets see, a smallmouth study by mdc employees. Is that kind of like paid fishing trips with non-conclusive results. Gotta change something to make it look good. Works for me.

They at least show the the generation schedule to be in favor of the the tourism this weekend. About one oclock they will hit the "subject to change" button.

Well that figures, I can't catch a break on a week night. Water off at 8 and back on at midnight. four hours of driving for four hours of fishing. If this pattern continues through the fall, I am going to take my fishing to arkansas, and then come winter time Kansas to catch some of them runaway rainbows.

Some how, thank you, sounds like such a meager compensation for all that has been endured. My hat goes off to all the veterans, their families, the sponsors and organizers of this great event, the volunteers, and all the fishermen, like Micheal, helping to make this happen.
