  1. Great fish Tim. Anxious to see the photo.
  2. I think the multiple listings are a personallity issue. Ones that like to have their name on the board several times are more likely to do the illegal thing when all else fails. Cash prizes used to be awarded at derby events and would lend to snagging by individuals. It is pretty common for people catching their first lunker, or their largest lunker, to have their name on the board, and I think they should. Overall I do not think that the lunker board encourages illegal activity. The multiple listing people are going to haul those fish out of the creek no matter what.
  3. I wish I had the opportunity to meet up with you drew, even if you are from Kansas. I will be out of town for tues and wed or would make the trip. If you stay over for thurs, let us know. I hope you hook up with the biggest trout that taney has to offer.
  4. Shammy's, peach egg, scuds 14 and 16, in gray and tan. Good luck to you Drew. Along with your streamers, you should be good to go. Make sure you have some # 4 and 6 split shot as well. 7 to 6x.
  5. In this month's Conservationist mag, new rules and regs plus an article on rock snot and the trout waters.
  6. If you are talking about the chamois cloth, I bought it at O'Reilly Auto.
  7. Good report Duane. Keep em coming, and keep an eye out for Drew. I think he is headed to taney sometime this week. Hopefully he will read this report and bring a few of those whammy worms with.
  8. I bet you were still looking for ducks around every bend.
  9. thanks for the info guys, keep those photo's coming.
  10. Thanks guys, after looking at the fish Duane caught, and knowing of the 6 or 7 lunkers that Jeff and his son in law caught, I'm chompin at the bit right now. I think I will go abuse some crappie today, then chase some trout on sunday and monday. Dang, I might just like this retirement thing.
  11. Great fish Duane, sorry I missed out on the fun. I had to take care of some business today that hopefully will gain me a little more fishing time. As of today, I am "officially" retired. Hope to catch up with you on the next trip.
  12. A canoe on loz would be as suicidal as trying to inhale underwater.
  13. Great looking fish Chief. I was just sitting here wondering how much farther west of your area, a person can catch a native smallmouth.
  14. RR is probably the closest to you and always fishes good. Plus you could always fall back on the shadow bass water that you and Chief fish. Montauk would be second choice with a the upper current as backup. If you get close to bssp or meramec, just turn your head and keep going.
  15. Well Duane, I am looking at postponing my trip until monday. Got to go take care of some social security matters tomorrow. It's he!! to get old. Leave one dumb one for me ole buddy. Good fishing and you best give a report.
  16. Indeed there are. The only park exception would be Meramec.
  17. Hey Drew, to offset that C note, you might fish for some of them feral trout as well. You might even like catching a few of them. They look just like the wild but only bigger.
  18. Letting the browns grow has certainly worked at taney. When you talk with fishermen in the fall, they say that they make the trip to taney for the possibility of catching a large brown. Check out the parking lot in oct and nov, and you will see several states in attendance. Unlike taney, park and river browns are much easier to fool, so a reduction in creel limits would go a long way. Add a new "20 inch" length limit and the numbers of trophy fish will multiply in a 2 to 3 year period. Now, don't look for any 30lb fish at the parks, but it would certainly increase the number of 12 to 18 lb fish that are already there.
  19. The mesh only comes in contact when someone upstream is shuffling.
  20. You would think it would be as simple as you described it. Look at the difference it made at taney. Most anglers look at brown trout as a trophy anyway, let them have their one trophy fish and leave the other 3, 15 inchers, to grow into trophy's as well. The rainbows far outnumber the browns statewide.
  21. I can see right now that I need to get there about midnight and try to catch a dumb one or two before you have the opportunity to sharpen them up. Hope to see you there Duane.
  22. I was planning a trip to RR tomorrow and was curious as to how much rain from yesterday and what it did to the creek.
  23. I admire your stamina to stick with the streamers for a 3 day period. For me 2 hours and I am done, absolutely bored stiff. Like you said, good friends and good times on the river, fish are just a bonus.
  24. Congrats on breaking your previous record, and a great looking fish.
  25. Thank you Chief.
