  1. I agree, leave the waders at home, it's warm enough to wet wade now.
  2. Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you had a great time, hopefully I can get a overnight Float in soon.
  3. I believe that if someone interferes or harrasses with a person fishing within the banks of a stream or river that has been accessed by way of a public boat launch put in by the Missouri Department of Conservation, then the harrasser/interferer should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. The state of Missouri has laws in place to keep this from happening and yet it still happens all the time. The only way to stop this type of harrassment and intimidation is to punish the law breakers. This stream, Shoal Creek, has obviously been deemed navigatable by someone in the higher powers of the states government, or the MDC would not have put a public boat launch on the stream in order for the public to navigate it. I, Jeremy Dodson, a resident and taxpayer of the state of Missouri, demand that something be done in order to correct this wrong doing and to insure that it does not happen again.
  4. Nice largemouth!
  5. I haven't cleaned any spoonbill myself since they started a few years back. They even pick up your fish right on the river, sure makes it nice to pick up fillets packed up just right for smoking on the grill.
  6. Them darn blind fish
  7. Call anytime, I'm a lite sleeper.
  8. Good job Dylan! Thanks for the report, I need to get fishin for some bass.
  9. We catch quite a few on the Spring over in OK. Not bad eating, we just keep them and fillet them with the white bass. Here is a picture of my brother with a big one caught while wading the Spring river looking for whites.
  10. Thanks Buzz, I would like to have the money the spent is shells yesterday. We could hear the shooting start just after we got on the water and it continued till we were done. They were about halfway thru our float on some cleared land they use for camping. It gets nerve wracking when you cant see them and here firing all around you. Once we saw them and seen they were shooting straight across the creek we stopped and yelled and waved them down. They were all using earplugs so it wasn't easy, but they stopped once they seen us. lots of hand gun shooting and then like you heard full auto stuff followed.
  11. Thanks for the report.
  12. Andrew and I went on a short float this afternoon. It was nice and warm, but just a tad bit windy to keep the canoe where we wanted. The water is getting low and very clear. We started a little late around noon or so, we had a couple spots in mind so we just paddled and hit those spots. Had to stop a shooting fest to make it down river without getting holes in us. Had fun ending the year floating the creek, hope next years fishing is great. Here are the 2 better fish of today. Happy New Year to everybody.
  13. Put me in the NO COUNTRY boat. How about some Bullet for my Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, System of a Down, The Offspring, Volbeat, and like Flytyer57 said Five Finger Death Punch.
  14. Thats an awsome fish, great picture.
  15. Thanks guys, I feel bad missing you guys last friday, was running late and to far down river from you guys. The fish were not cooperating, and I was trying to get my Dad to catch one those slime rockets. Andrew went up that way once but must have missed you guys.
  16. A neighbor and I have been fishing at Eucha lake in OK for the past 3 weeks. If you want to catch some white bass, just up under the bridge away from the boat ramp you can catch all you want. Some crappie have been coming up from around the bridge pillers and more from brush piles, just find some timber sticking out and tie off. Getting bit on a variety of colors of jigs, mostly white tho. The little fishie has been working the best on the white bass. The water level has been real low there. The weather kinda turned off cold today, so I bundled up and did a little creek fishing. I dont know why but I enjoy getting out when its kinda nasty, I seem to have more good days fishing when its cold. Put the kayak in and headed to the spot I wanted to fish. Was using small tube baits in hopes of catching some dinner. Started catching bass and a lot of them, finally got thru all them and the crappie started biting. Here are some pics from today.
  17. I went over to Hickory creek today for a little bit of wading and fishing. I needed to test out my waders for any more leaks. I parked at the helicopter and went upstream, it has been a few years since I fished that area. I saw a lot of baitfish up that way, and a few fish hanging out around any wood in the water. I was able to catch them on jigs, black or green didn't really matter.
  18. Nice! It looks like you had plenty of action. I really like the long wading trips until its time to turn back, and then I hope I have enough daylight to get back.
  19. It sure was great meeting up with everyone, we had a really good time. Great looking pictures everybody.
  20. Was bass fishing today and fishing was going pretty well, untill I saw a crappie follow my lure in. After that I couldn't help myself and tied on some baits that would catch them. I hardly ever just go out looking for crappie, but it sure is fun catching them sometimes.
  21. Andrew and I will be there in the morning, looking forward to that chili and meeting some new faces.
  22. Sure, lets see the spider. I have seen the crickhoppers and bees before. They work great if you are using ultra light tackle, and dont mind catching a little of everything.
  23. I took the boys to some ponds last weekend to do some bass fishing. The fish were biting very well, it didn't seem to matter what you were using. Caught quite a few on white spinnerbaits just off the banks. The boys did well using soft plastic worms. Went to the creek today and fishing was tough. I fished for 5-6 hours and maybe caught 10 fish. Jerkbait, crankbait, hair jig, and plastic worms caught fish. Got lucky and caught a couple decent fish, just had to search for good looking spots, and skip the rest.
