I think most people that really have great success with the rebel craw are using the smallest sized one. It really works well, but I think it is mostly because it is that size. It would be what I would call a micro crankbait. Almost any crankbait that size will do the same thing, but the selection is kinda slim and that makes it so popular. It also is a small fish magnet. When you move up into the larger rebel craws and compare them to other similar sized crankbaits, they dont produce as well for me.

Nice fish, you got to love them smallies. That is cool you found a eagles nest, you will have to watch for them next time you are thru that area.

Nice fish! Thats a quick trip, seems like it takes almost that amount of time driving on that back road.

It was my pleasure Al. Boy was it windy! We have had some squirrly weather down here, and I think that had the fish holding back a little. Hopefully it will settle down into a warming trend around here. I have some pictures to post, but the picture uploader is not working right now. Al, Pick one and we will float. I haven't floated the flat creek yet, I think some of the access points would be easy to locate tho. It sounds like a nice creek. Shoal creek is just right down the road from here. Buzz or anybody else want to go floating? I have a kayak I can use or a short 2 person canoe. Fishin

I could make it to a float on Saturday. I haven't floated around the Springfield area, but any new water is always fun. Fishin

Sounds good. Your right Chief, this is going to be a little longer float. If I remember right CDC likes to fish slow, he might want to pack some extra sammiches.

Thats a nice one Buzz! My son Andrew has been talking about trying to catch the next state record goggleye. We plan on taking several float and camp weekends so he can try all he wants. You are right Chief, we had lines getting crossed in all the action in that one hole.

I took the boys to the creek today looking for some trout to catch. Its hard to walk the whole creek with a 6 year old, so we hit some of the easier spots to access. We did a little looking and some fishing. We did not see any trout in the places we were at. Saw a few live minnows and some dead crawdads. I did some fishing and I caught 2 chubs and 2 goggleye in the time we were there. Maybe its just me, but I would think that they would want to stock this creek with some trout at all times? At least give the impression that you could catch them, if you could fool them into eating. I gets a little disappointing when you go to a creek that should be stocked with trout for the kids to catch and there is nothing.

Nice fish Buzz. Looks like they were biting pretty well. I need to make some time to get on the creek myself.

I managed to catch 13 whites today. It was pretty windy for awhile fishing down river from the piers. I heard someone say a couple guys had there limits trolling today. I could only catch one trolling myself. I Caught them all on a inline spinner. Here is a couple from yesterday, it was dark out and cameraphone.

Went yesterday 2/25, not much action untill just before time to start heading back. My son and I got 1 largemouth and 4 whites. A friend was close by in his boat and they got about 8 whites during the same time.

I don't think it would be the best choice for trout. But I have never personally tried it. It kinda looks like white string in the water.
