  1. 72 year old man went fishing by himself friday morning. Boat was found that afternoon or evening and he wasn't in it. His truck was parked at the W ramp up the Platte arm. Finally found him today at 1:30 this afternoon. Wondering if the heat got to him or he had some kind of accident. Also saw two guys drowned down at Berry Bend. Be careful you guys.
  2. Mix your ashes up with a jar of stinkbait oneshot. Then have a loved one or friend fish away. You'll be giving back to the fish you always loved to catch!
  3. Motel 6. They'll leave the lights on for ya...
  4. He's a beautiful baby guys and gals. 8# 1oz. Looks like my daughter-in-law which means he'll be raising cain from the get go. I'm so happy...
  5. Been awhile since I've been on the Niangua arm. I'd think up the Little Niangua would be better. And better yet... either up the Gravie arm or somewhere from Ivy Bend up on the Osage arm. If you're set on the Niangua arm I'd be looking for some big flats. Fishinwrench here on the forum can help ya out. Good luck!
  6. Got Muddy... named after his underwear.
  7. Brian Sloss at 11 Point Canoe is the expert. I'm sure he'll answer your question. But as far as I know, Cane Bluff to Greer and Riverton on down are your best bets. Maybe Hwy. 160 down is even better.
  8. You yourself know why... it's the same reason all of us love the Ozarks.
  9. Slabtown to Ross hands down. Anything involving Mason Bridge revolves around long, slow water.
  10. Another fine display by our "X" Generation.
  11. Welp... seems now we're at the point where the first place we can start (and I know it's happened) is to POLITELY educate the nimrods if we see them either do any of the following... urinate in the river, crap within a 100 feet of the river and not bury their waste, leave a smoldering fire or trash on the bank, attempt to pick up anything that you've lost from a canoe from a tip over (within reason), ask the horseback riders to not let their ponies poop or pee, ask Farmer John if ya see him not to let his cattle have river access, or ask an unruly jet boater to slow down because he's either eroding the bank, screwing up spawning habitat, or just making it miserable for us fisherman. . You all get the picture... and just a disclaimer... being POLITE doesn't mean you will not be coming home without your jaw wired shut. That's the sad reality. Feel for you guys who can't hit your favorite river during the week. I'm in a position I can and it makes a huge difference in the experience. Meaning you probably won't witness much wrong doings on the river, only the aftermath.
  12. Think i'm gonna stick to fried bacon dipped in spring water.
  13. I've never given a "Shout out to RAY-RAY" Feels good...
  14. Let's make ol' Prater the Riverkeeper of all Ozark streams. Maybe we'll get him to have a nervous breakdown and send him to the nuthouse where he belongs!
  15. That's amazing Ness! You're a psychic! How in the heck do you know that "somebody" person?
  16. I've taken a buddy of mine who is top heavy floating twice and he wears prosthetic's that attach just below the knee. Got him comfortable sitting lower in the canoe at center with his "legs" off and we were fine. Of course I needed to counter my end by drinkin' an extra case of beer.
  17. Is that what really happened Wayne? I haven't heard anything since KY3 had the story.
  18. I wonder how many boaters know what a danger buoy looks like? I've seen boats cuttin' inside of them when they're placed far from the bank on an extended for instance. So many newbies or ignorant people not paying attention. But as Mr. Rapp says, they deserve to be there.... and they deserve what comes to them too.
  19. I understand that Bud. But I would change the terminology to a "few" tourney anglers.
  20. I fish in my mind every day. I just can't seem to catch'em that way...
  21. Maybe all the outfitters within a 100 to 150 miles of St. Louis are so-called pimps. It's party central over there. Bring in the bands on weekends. Provide guests with breakfast, lunch on the river, and dinner. Huzzah Valley comes to mind. Huzzah is the only river I've ever floated over there and I'll never do it again... on a weekend. And there are plenty of great oufitters within Missouri that strive to provide a family friendly experience or provide a group of buddies a great night around a campfire just giving each other crap. It's 2012 gentlemen... not the 60's or 70's or even the early 80's (or the 20's Wayne... couldn't resist brother). Lots of ya on this forum like to post pics and reports of a great day on the river or lake. We now live in "our" moment, not the moments of others or of some of our "good old days". Myself? I love what's available here in Missouri and Arkansas. Can't quite grasp the comparison to us river guys to bass tourney guys. People who appreciate the rivers are a different breed from a tournament angler.
  22. It's 'cause what was implied on another thread Justin. It's the 4th... and you're busy catering to drunken fools!
  23. Phil, we're all American's. The Nation (al's) were here before us. I'd have to cast a vote for a Brave's player on that side of the equation. Indian's are on the wrong side. Then again... I'm sure our native americans enjoyed the sight of a redbird themselves.
