  1. I guess we all have our opinions!!!!
  2. Here's a close-up of my "muddlers"
  3. Thanks tippet7! I sent them an email!
  4. LOL, I know that feeling! No worries, I'll just have to sit down and tie some more for you. Guess I'd better not snip the hooks, huh?
  5. LOL, I'll keep you posted.
  6. Thanks Buzz! I've wanted to do it for years. I think they're awesome and I know several ladies (especially in Alaska) that are interested in them! I'll see if I can get a few pics posted on here of single pairs, it's hard to see from the above picture just how cool this really are.
  7. Thank you for posting this tippet7! What a great PR plug! So, which ones did you buy? And thank you duckydoty for your post! Funny how we never thought to post my earrings on here! Shame on us!
  8. I believe that if someone interferes or harrasses with a person fishing within the banks of a stream or river that has been accessed by way of a public boat launch put in by the Missouri Department of Conservation, then the harrasser/interferer should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. The state of Missouri has laws in place to keep this from happening and yet it still happens all the time. The only way to stop this type of harrassment and intimidation is to punish the law breakers. This stream, Shoal Creek, has obviously been deemed navigatable by someone in the higher powers of the states government, or the MDC would not have put in, not just one, but five public boat launches on the stream in order for the public to navigate, explore, fish, and clean up trash and debris on the stream. I, MonaChari Doty, strongly demand that something be done in order to correct this wrong doing and to insure that it does not happen again.
  9. We had a great time! We're looking forward to the Spring float for sure. Here's a few photos we captured yesterday. Enoy!
  10. You will be fine with spinning gear and Lilley's will have everything you need. I would suggest olive micro jigs under a small bobber.
  11. After he counted on all his fingers, toes, his two eyes, two ears, then his nose, and a couple other things, he couldn't keep track, he had nothing else to count . Honestly, he outfished me by two to my one all day long. It was great to get out there today. Thanks SWPA for finally shuttin the water off!!!
  12. Welcome aboard!
  13. Although I haven't ever done a 4-day hike, I have done a 3-day float on the Buffalo. Are you planning on fishing along the way? The best fishing for me was from Ponca to Kyle's Landing. Again, have only floated not hiked it. It's a good hike into Hemmed in Hollow witgh the waterfall, and also the Goat Trail on Big Bluff. Here's an informative link River Map. Lost Valley Canoe or Buffalo Outdoor Center may be able to provide shuttle service for a nominal fee. Good luck and keep us posted.
  14. This is not a . After experiencing first hand the success of my duck hunting fool of a husband I made the decision that it was time to get out and enjoy the bounty of ducks on Table Rock Lake with him. It was an early rise for me. After putting on 4 layers of underarmor, fleece, more fleece, and then some camo, we headed to our ecologically friendly blind on the shores of Table Rock Lake. It was very cold and crisp, and luckily the wind was calm. Just before daylight, (or for you duck hunters--"shootin time") we had a flock of geese and a flock of ducks buzz the blind. This got us excited. Once daylight broke, a couple of small groups of ducks whistled by but they were out of range. It was a slow duck morning, not a lot of ducks moving. Then without warning, two ducks locked up on DuckyDoty's left side and we both shot, I missed and Doty dropped them both. I'll be honest, I got cold feet. I got up from the blind to get some circulation going to warm things up and when I did, of course, a group of about eight Gadwalls locked up over head just long enough for DuckyDoty to tell me not to move, not seeing them I turned around to look, they saw me and dispersed. I decided to venture through the trees to the cove behind us to see if there were any ducks held up there. I flushed up a half a dozen mallards but they did not turn toward our blind. Making my way back to the blind, there were the eight Gadwalls swimming in the cove next to our blind. I slowly slipped back into my spot without spooking them. As I turned to prepare for a shot on them, DD said "out front!". A dozen Gadwalls were coming in close and the first two were locked up for a landing right smack dab on top of our closest decoys. Then I heard those two words I love to hear, "take 'em!". I focused on the second bird with her feet out in front, one shot, dropped like a rock! My first duck! I'm tellin you guys, get out and do some duck huntin til this weather gets right for fishin! It's a blast!
