  1. I have to agree with Griz, water might be a tad low there. Give the BOC or one of the outiftters a call on Thursday to see how water is. Doesnt look like any rain is forcast, but here in Pea Ridge we got a great shower last night, so you never know what might effect the water.
  2. Water levels look to be perfect. I have been working a on a few unique flies I am wanting to try on some smallie water. Plus the pontoon has been in the garage for a month and needs some water time.
  3. From Jasper, take 74 West and keep an eye out for the signs. You should be turning North off 74 onto a dirt road(unless they have paved since I been there last).
  4. Alright guys, I know you have seen the multitudes of posts talking about the Reel Recovery Retreat we are raising money for. The organization sent me three rods and reels to sell to help raise money to fund our retreat. So far I have sold one rod(thanks Bryce). I am posting this here hoping I can find a few more people interested in buying one of these great products. I have these in my possesion now, so as soon as you contact me, I can drop it in the mail. I was also told recently by the Reel Recovery people that 100% of the proceeds from the sales go to our event......so basically they are eating the actual wholesale cost of the rods and reels. This beautiful TFO 5wt, 4-piece rod specially crafted for Reel Recovery has a medium fast action with a progressive taper. The blank is a stunning moss green with gold silk screened Reel Recovery logo, with alignment dots that are color coded by line weight, premium grade cork handle, hook keeper and oversized stripping guide. The rod is taken from the TFO Lefty Kreh Professional Series and includes a Reel Recovery rod sock. You won't find a better rod for $150 on top of helping a great cause. The 5/6 reel is taken from the popular PRISM series of fly reels that were introduced by Temple Fork Outfitters a year ago. The new reel is perfectly balanced to compliment the Reel Recovery/TFO fly rod that was introduced in April. Who would not want a new reel to match the stellar rod pictured above. The Reel Recovery Reel is selling for $90. Again, as I said earlier, 100% of this money is going to fund our retreat here in Arkansas. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to order. I only have two rods and three reels left, so act fast. Email zmhoyt at gmail dot com Cell 870 577 2781 "Be well, Fish on"
  5. Dan. Drop me a pm if you guys make it and dont mind a tag along. I have been meaning to make time to sneak up there, but had too many irons in the fire. This weekend looks clear.
  6. The pontoon I had ruined you on those stinkin canoes didnt it??? Hope all is well at the Hog. Need to sneak up your way for an evening float.
  7. Would you prefer to have someone wade out there and put the fish on the hook for you as well? Do you know what the moss does for the ecosystem of the water?
  8. I applaud the company for coming up with this idea. People said negative things about wine in a pouch and plastic beer bottles........but they are ever growing in popularity. I love the idea.
  9. Jeff I didnt realize you were a member here. Ken and myself are working on the retreat and di the Beaver Day over here on our side of the state. Thanks a million for helping out.
  10. I was meaning the scotch drinking and dirty old man state of mind. I love all his books. Kinda a fly fishing right of passage to read them.
  11. Sometimes you just have to set back and grin. When I want to catch stockers, I head to Roaring River or Braver. That place wont be around for long with $120 tent fees.
  12. Let's hope she doesnt take on too many of the traits of Geirach......
  13. Didnt realize there were that many guys here on Facebook. I know myself, Zander(Phillip), Leonard, and Michael(Backcountry Outfitters are on there. I am under zmhoyt at gmail dot com.
  14. Quite a few members here, mydelf included, keep up with each other on Facebook. Lilleys Landing has a page and I think OAF would do good......just hope it doesnt end up taking away from the action and content here.
  15. Appreciate it Jeremy.
  16. Thanks. The Fly Fishing Federation Website has a materials list and instruction. I was wondering about th wording of the signs. They have mounted two on Beaver Lake and I am working on trying to get them on the Tailwaters as well. Just was wondering what the MDC used as verbage on the signs. I think they are a great idea and should be on more acces points all over our waters......IMO
  17. I need one of you Taney guys to do me a favor. If you think about it, can I get picture of the Mono Recycling setups and the signage surrounding? If possible, maybe one or two different ones. I would very much appreciate it. They are starting to put them on Beaver Lake and we are trying to get them on the Tailwaters as well. Thanks a ton.
  18. Welcome from Nw Arkansas. Tons of info and great guys here.
  19. I am jealous.
  20. That made me laugh.
  21. Your right bigdub, each has its own place. If either of you guys get down to SW Missouri or NW Ark, drop me a line. Would love to hit the river with you. CC, keep in mind how long it took you to learn how to do that stuff with the spinrod. The minimal effort directly corresponds to practice.
  22. I love seeing trout colored up....but there is nothing that can compare to a colored up brookie. Thanks for the pics.
  23. Kinda running off topic...but in a good way. Cricket or bigdub, feel free to pm me. I am a bass nut at heart and ahve had to learn some "tricks" to manipulate a fly rod. I am in NO WAY a pro at casting or anything else, just might have some ideas for ya. A fly rod is all about finesse. Having a 9' rod is definately and advantage........hence the B.A.S.S. rule about rod lenght.
  24. What action are you talking about cricket? I have been able to make far more action and direction changes with my fly rod than with a spincast.
  25. Most people who have actually used them in the field will tell you they are in the top three waders out there. I would highly recommend anything made by Simms. There is alot of research done by guides and year round fly fisherman to make them very user friendly.
