  1. One thing I know of to check, if you haven'y already, the foot pedal is very sensitive. Make sure there is nothing impeding its path. Cables lying next to it or plastics or something in the tray well can disengage the spot lock. Is the pedal mounted down? Touching the side of the tray would disengage the spot lock also.
  2. If I remember correctly, I got a y cable and the Lowrance/Humminbird convertor. I still had the Lowrance thru-hull transducer wiring routed to the console so it was a simple click and attach. Good luck.
  3. My 10 year old boat came with Lowrance graphs and, 2 years ago, I switched to Humminbird SI/DI units. I mounted my transducer for the console unit on my jackplate with a transducer shield and saver. I then used an adapter to use the already installed in hull transducer puck. I'm not sure how it works, but your HB will read from the jackplate at slow speeds so you can use the DI and/or SI, but when you increase speed it will automatically switch to the in-hull transducer so you have depth reading at speed. :Like others have said, I would put the SI on the back so you can idle around areas and mark spots. Here is a link to an article about the adapter. http://www.sonarwars.com/convert-lowrance-to-humminbird-2d-sonar/
  4. I live in Illinois and, where I primarily fish, a wake bait is considered a deep diver. I recently installed Talons on my boat and use them often, up here. The Power Poles versus Talons debate is like Ford versus Chevy. I like Talons because they go straight down and there is no extra fluid tanks to fit into the bilge area. I go to Table Rock once or twice a week each year, for the last 17 years. Last year was my first year with the Talons and I might have deployed them twice. The rock hard bottom doesn't allow them to set into the bottom and the boat will move with any wind or waves. That and I'm primarily fishing or sitting in deeper water so didn't use them. If you do fish other lakes that they can be utilized, they are a benefit. For Table Rock, a trolling motor with spot lock would serve you better. That is on my list.
  5. I have been going to Hide-away resort (hideawayresort.com) for about 12 years and love it. Nice, newly remodled cabins, nice dock, and a pool. It is between Aunt's Creek and Cape Fair, closer to Aunt's Creek. I checked the website and it looks like they have a lot of open cabins Memorial day weekend. There is no on-site food or tackle, but the marina is right down the road and Branson West is about 15-20 minutes away.
