my son, my 6 year old grandson and I put in at hickory hollow at 3:45 pm today and went upriver to first bend and fished our way back. we caught some where around 60 crappies using small crppie tubes seems like any color would work only problem was finding keepers. only had 6 keepers my grandson caught his first crappie he was sure excited. Hopefully we'll get him in the whites during spring break. We left before dark.

I've got a buddy needing a trolling motor 70lb thrust or larger 45" shaft 24 volt I don't think brand makes a difference. thanks danny

Doug my dad was raised on big indian his family was spilt by the lake when it came in. I found some foundations that him and uncles told me about. I wish I would of paid more attention to their storys when I was a kid who knows what I might find.

Doug that could be it it. Both times I seen it Iwas close to the old river channels. I believe I found the old bridge that connected h highway by baxter. I've been looking for some of the stuff my dad told me about that got cover by the lake.

No I didn't take a picture wish I had know. When I went to down imaging it looked like it was coming right off the bottom.

Last weekend it was about 1:30 am and there wasn't another boat around. Today maybe but aren't they uaually horizonal these are vertical.

I've got a hb 798 si unit on my boat I think I've learned to read it pretty good but I've had this happen to me a couple times in different places it looks like a column of smoke rising off the bottom just a light cloudy looking colum. any ideas.

I use a black with blue flakes with a hammered blade seems to work for me. Jason glad to hear they are taking the spinnerbait at night one of my favorite baits at night.

We started between baxter and campell point to start we fished around point 17 and got into some smallies on spinnerbaits and tubes seem like everytime we reeled one in there were a couple others following. tried to drag bottom on a couple flats just too much snot. went to a chunk rock bank and swicthed to top water Me using a red fin and him using a chug bug. we caught about the same amount but his were bigger. biggest fish was a little over 4 lbs. got my stickers today I fish around baxter alot in a silver basscat. stop and say hi

I was raised on table rock and the last couple of years the people have gotten ruder. I don't think it's a money thing I think it's just some people believe there better than the next guy these are the same people that will go throught a door and let it slam on the next person. I always try to give everyone room on the water and I will say something to someone who is crowding me. If you don't stand up for yourself nobody will. Just how I was raised.

MY son and I put in around 1:30 and fished till around 7 pm ran to a spawning cove we zeroed there went to another one and finally got into them they were all between 12 to 14 and a half I was dragging a c-rigged dr in watermelonseed my son was throwing a little mr money crank bait. moved to a flat where my son caught our only keeper 15" jaw fat fat fat. WE caught over 30 fish with only one keeper. water temp 60 to 65 degrees.

I got alate start 10 before I got on the water. It was slow for me till afternoon I finally got my first fish on a green grub in 10 feet of water then I started picking up fish on a green and purple square bill crankbait anywhere the wind was stirring up the mud only caught 3 keepers and they were barely 15 inches rest were in the 12 inch range. Did see a couple of guys cathing fish on weightless worms in one cove.

The grocery store in shell knob did have grubs they usually have a good selection.

My son and I went out at 1:oo pm from hickory hollow went up the kings to 86 bridge we got into the whites around the bridge. we lost count at 60 we took 30 home there was a mix of males and females. It was alot of fun the eggs in the females aren't ready. It seems that people are gitting ruder on the water these days we had one boat with three guys in it that kept crowding us after the third time of them cacthing my line I postioned my boat so they couldn"t fish the same spot we were. We were back at ramp a little after 5:00 all in all a good father and son day.

Amp I seem to draw the rude ones too. I Don't let it bother me much. when they act like that they're missing the best life has to offer.

2nd cove past point 17 toward campell point. I was catching them on a single tail grub. salt and pepper. it was a small crappie grub. Iwas using an ultralight rod.6 lb test .Iwas catching lm ,k on lizards, and twin tail grubs.

Fished from 10:30 to 3:00 today. I had decent success with a texas rigged lizard[ smoke and pepper]. throwing around brush.I caught a few on twin tail grub.Lm around three lbs was the biggest.Got caght in a white bass feeding frenzy. Caught a limit in about 15 minutes. I only keep them in 10 -14 inch size.all in all a good day for me.
