Hey man sorry to hear about the boat glad it didnt happen during the tournament though. Might have not been able to haul our livewell full of fish back to the ramp. lol I had the same problem Bill did, last year a fuse went out might check that out. Good luck fishing the rest of the week.

Hey hawghunter,
Cant believe you are giving away my secrets. Didnt know you were on this sight. Thats funny what are the odds we would be paired together. Remember thats why they call it fishing and not catching.

Speaking of an unforgetable fishing experience try reeling in one of those 10 pounders while you are fishing for whites with six pound line. Felt like i was setting the hook into a stump. Probably the longest fight i have ever had with a fish. Missouri anglers are missing out on one of the funnest sportfish there is. Maybe missouri will stock more hybrids in the future.
I didnt read you're whooping crane story so i dont know if this will beat it.
One night a couple of summers ago i was catfishing near cricket. I got a bight and set the hook and my rod broke about a foot above the reel. So there i was holding a piece of my pole in both hands fighting about a five pound channel cat. When i got it to the boat i tried to lift it in the boat by the line(stupid i know) the line snapped but the fish landed in the net hanging off the side of my boat. What are the odds of catching a fish after it had broke a pole and line. I didnt think it would be good luck to keep a fish after all these events so i released it.
Good point no matter what the limit is set at wether it be 10 inches or 24 inches there is going to be more fish just under the limit than just over it.
And on the subject of catching spots for tournaments a few springs ago i was fishing a tourney and spent about 30 minutes trying to catch a spot off of a bed. It would have been my last keeper but when i finally caught it she was a 1/4 inch to short. Talk about frustrating. I still finished in the top 20 with 5 spots so tournaments can be won with out largemouth.
I just want to throw this out there several times i have read Arkansas Fish and Game while it is actually Arkansas Game and Fish just thought u might want to know.
Going a little off topic here but does anyone else notice the difference in goggleyes caught in lakes and in small streams. To me the stream fish and their lake cousins could almost be considered different species. Anybody else have any thoughts on this.
Last summer me and my friend snuck our poles in our golf bags. We just fished for about 10 minutes but we caught 7 or 8, 12 to 14 inch bass. Pretty good fishing. I would like to spend a little time fishing the pond for a lunker but the management keeps a close eye.

I think lure shape plays a much more important role than most people think. Look at the thousands of shapes plastic worms are made in, but we all know we have that favorite one.
