  1. Big bobber, lots of weight, careful on the casting, roll cast, mend, mend, mend... Plenty of Rubber legs like you said.
  2. Nice! Good old RL.
  3. Not sure about that many stocked, but the river has been at great levels. I'd go to Baptist, walk down and work your way back to lot. Or, walk down trail from Tan Vat and do the same.
  4. Watched already this morning, great stuff again!
  5. Thanks to Mr. Poppen for the advice on the upper portion!
  6. Been doing some research, got some good info from a fellow OA member.
  7. Mr. O, the Jedi and yours truly are canoe tripping/fishing starting at Cane Bluff, newbies to this stretch. We're shooting for the 28-29 time span. What's the water like? Too shallow? Too deep to stop and wade? Are there any camping places close to Greer? How would you fish it, speed-wise? Looks like 6-7 miles. We want to go second day concentrating on trout, pull out at Turner. We've done that stretch before. Thanks for all input, look forward to the advice.
  8. Welcome! Moved here in '06 from central WA. Keep the 9WT, big browns on the White R. in Arkansas, you'll need it to throw sinking line and huge streamers, if you are up to it. Not from a trip I took, guys from Michigan chase them every late Winter, early Spring.

    Report

Here you go, want to try this. Have had rainbows chomp a mid-size Thingamabobber... in chartreuse, yellow, pink, yellow, white...pic lighting was poor.
  10. Copper John, #14 or #16 in copper worked for me. Brian S. also reported earlier that #12 Prince and golden stone fly nymphs were working, though that might be periodical. Good luck and we might be down there the same time. Still finalizing plans.
  11. Water haul, roll cast your rig, or slow your cast, open the loop and don't start your forward too soon.
  12. Good advice G., may want to try a Psycho Prince, various colors, on your dropper.

    Nice, go Les!
  14. The Current drops very quickly. I've read some people do very well when it's raining/rising especially, not so good after it has risen and held high. Hard to gauge this rain period coming up, looks like a lot.

    Weekend

Yep, change up the color on the body, same wing case...

    Weekend

Rubber legs, pheasant tail, and, a certain fly by Mr. Lance Egan... Good luck man. Don't forget streamers for some of the day.
  17. Recognize that crew...from somewhere?

    High Water

No pics Gavin? Nice fish. Fly or spin?
  19. Box 1: rubber legs/small streamers/larger attractor nymphs; Box 2: small nymphs (PTs, czech style, PT variations, attractor nymphs)/attractors (various worms, scuds); Box 3: (small box) caddis variations, mostly pupae; Box 4: streamers; Box 5 (small box): midges, assorted colors, styles, sizes; I pack a lot of choices and usually pre-tie my tandem nymph rigs, so I just change the tandem rig if it's real slow, or just the trailer fly. A lot depends on what I want to do that day, streamers mostly, just in the morning, or, nymph all day. When it warms up more, then terrestrials come in.
  20. Those cells went for a good cause...

    High Water

Should be fine by this coming weekend. 368 cfs right now.
  22. I support your opinion, there should be a change in the reg's.
  23. It is a drag that these camping spots are no longer available. Used to camp at Ozark Mtn. quite a few times.
  24. It was great to see pics f. the NFOW Conclave. Thanks!
